I'm never fond of fights.

So I stood beside the two of them with my arm folded on my chest, glaring at those two while shivering.

It was damn cold, and damn Jason for dragging me into the water with him!

Finally, after noticing my glare, they stopped fighting each other, staying on the ground looking at me half-scared.

"Your freaking highness, go to your room," I snapped. He looked at me angrily.

"You're not my babysitter, you're my sister's-"

"GO TO YOUR ROOM!"

"...okay ma'am..."

"Jason, go home, please. What the hell is wrong with you two? I thought you were friends!" I exclaimed angrily and stormed off.

Damn it was cold.

Jason pushed the 5th cup of coffee towards Alex.

"You know, this is all your fault," Jason mumbled. Alex sighed. "Shut up."

"What is wrong with you?" Jason grumbled. Alex sat there in silence.

"And I don't want 'I have no idea why I did that' coming out of you again!" He snapped. Alex smirked.

"But you got to admit, that was fun," he replied. Jason looked at Alex as if Alex was announcing that he was pregnant.

"Fun? Fun?" he growled menacingly, pointing towards his bruised jaw. "That hurts a lot, you git!"

Alex laughed.

"So why did you do that?"

"Drunk?"

"I've seen you chugged down a whole barrel of beer before Alex and you still got some common sense into you...er...excluding the vomiting and the slurring and everything-"

"Do you got a point here Jason?" he said, glaring daggers.

"You didn't do that on purpose."

"And how would you know?"

"...Alex, do you like her?"

"Who?"

"Melissa?"

There was an awkward silence.

"No, no I don't." Alex said, looking down to his feet like it was the most interesting thing in the world right now.

[Day 9]

Weird.

All of those years in the states, I rarely get a fever. Even if I dance in the rain, I'm practically immune to fever.

But the Queen herself told me to stay in bed till I get better. In normal circumstances, I wouldn't back down from my job just because I have a fever.

But she's got a point: We don't want Emily to catch it.

And I was so weak I could barely blink.

I hate being sick. It feels so uncomfortable being in my own skin.

There was a knock on my door.

"Come in," I said. But my voice sounded like a chipmunk.

"Hey you."

Jason looked tired. And his jaw was all bruised up. He grinned at me boyishly. "I'm sorry, I just have to escape."

"Escape?"

"Yeaaaah...there's a little issue downstairs..."

I stared into space for a minute before patting the spot near to me. "I'm sorry about yesterday," I started.

"No, it's my fault for fighting back," he replied and sat next to me. I shrugged.

"Let's just call it even and say it's Alexander's fault?"

"Fine by me," Jason said, grinning.

"Are you always here from now on?"

"Possibly. Like I said, there's a little issue..."

"Hm?" I sniffled.

Jason laughed gently. "You don't want to know."

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Ah, Alexander. I see you're still not even betrothed yet," said a 23 years old man with brown hair jokingly said.

"What the hell are you doing here?" Alex spat.

"Watch your tongue, Alex," Queen Faye said calmly.

"You're not too. I don't see why I have to get wed before you do," Alex continued on, ignoring his mother.

Nicholas Wellington waved his brother's statement.

"That's because I suck-"

"No you're not-" his mother tried to say but was cut off instantly by Nicholas.

"If I don't then why am I kicked out of my own home by my father?"

An abrupt silence.

A few years back, when Alex's brother was still an heir to the throne Nicholas almost brought the downfall to Vallencia. Nicholas was always the happy-go-lucky guy - but at times, he can be more serious than any of his family members.

"So what are you doing here?" Alex asked bitterly.

"Mother here called me."

Alex shot a look at the Queen.

"Is it wrong for a mother to miss her son?" she snapped.

Nicholas chuckled.

"So, I heard on the news that you got scolded by a...babysitter or something?" he said, teasingly. Alex groaned.

"Don't remind me, please."
