I landed myself in one of the palace most haunted hallways...or so they say.

I was actually trying to find my way towards the kitchen to get some water. My nose was still runny, and my cheeks were blood red. I feel horrible.

How did I got lost? I was concentrating so hard to forget the idiotic drama that had unfold in front of me yesterday that a longhair black cat suddenly ran towards me and sit in front of me, like she was expecting me to do something stupid or funny for her.

Black cat hm? How typical.

Anyway, when I decided to move on, the cat purred sweetly towards me that I couldn't resist it but pet her. But when I wanted to do so, she ran away. So my stupid instinct made me follow the cat...all the way to one of the haunted hallways.

Typical, I thought again. Very, typical.

Never trust a black kitty ever again, because the next thing I knew, I was lost.

"See what you made me do?" I snapped to the cat. I sniffed before continuing. "I'm lost! There's no one daring enough to sleep in this hallway dammit!"

"Oh my god...I'm going to die here because of you!" I whispered weakly.

Fine. Maybe I like being a bit of a drama queen sometimes.

The cat licked her paws and meow-ed loudly at me. I sigh and went to her spot - which is in front of the door. Once I crouched down to take her in my arms, the door swung open fastly, knocking me off my feet and letting out a scream.

Not that anyone would here me hear but anyway, it's a haunted hallway for the love of god!

"Whiskey?"

"...Er...ghost?" I replied weakly back, sneezing every once in a while. A brunette man looked down, his stunning blue eyes widened in shock.

"Damn, I'm sorry." He said, running his hand through his brown hair and helping me up.

"Who're you?"

"Nick. Nick Wellington," he said, grinning boyishly.

"And this is your cat?"

"That's correct. She ran away from me earlier," he said seriously, his lips almost pouting. I bit my own lip to restrain myself from blushing. He was not a type of a person who is drop dead gorgeous; but Nick Wellington has this certain attractive charm...

Nick...Wellington?

"And you named her Whiskey?"

"...I was very, very drunk when I named her..." he trailed off. I laughed.

"I have an adopted kitty back at home named Puppy...so Whiskey is not that bad," he continued, grinning.

"Animal lover eh?"

"Got a problem with that?" he asked, his eyebrows furrowing as if he was trying to solve a difficult math question. I shook my head. "Me too. I want a puppy when I was a little kid...but when my parents bought me one I scared it away by screaming my ass off when it tried to lick me..."

"You like animals but are scared of some of them hm?"

I nodded. He threw his head back and laughed.

"How's that possible?"

"No idea."

Wellington...

Isn't that the Prince's family name too? Maybe it's a coincidence.

"So um, Nick, what are you doing here? I mean...there's no one-"

"I know, curious isn't it?" Nick cut me off. "I was planning to leave today as soon as I arrived, but my mother insisted me to stay and everything. And I choose this room in this particular, peculiar hallway because I'm actually...er...trying to avoid my father," he explained, finishing with a casual wave.

Mother? Father? Are they maids here or something?

"Uh..." I started, trying to ask him if his parents were politely. But he was already ahead of me.

"Yeaaah, I'm the King and Queen's first son."

Silence.

Alex have a brother and he didn't tell me?!

Wait, why would he tell me? Psh.

"But why...I mean, no one mentioned you before, not even Emily and...er...you're trying to avoid your father?"

"Mmm, let's talk about that...er...later."

I nodded. If he's the eldest son, then it should be him as an heir to the throne right? But why Alex?

Curiosity - very dangerous stuff that is. I decided to ask Alex himself later (but I'm sure what his reaction would be like: "What the heck do you want? Get out.")

"I left Vallencia to go to the Big Apple when Emily was around the age of 2-3? I forgot. But I'm sure that's why...speaking of Emily, do you know where her nanny is?"

"I am."

"Pardon?"

"I'm the er, 'nanny'"

"Really?"

I nodded.

"You and I..." he started slyly, swinging his arm around me suddenly, "I think we have a lot in common than we think."

"Excuse me?"

"What you did to Alex was really, really...amazing? Probably?"

I was flushed by now. I wanted to forget that incident so much.
