Change. (A Genesis Rhapsodos oneshot.)
The long-awaited fourth oneshot. xD This can be a stand-alone (I think), or it can be read as part of a series. If you haven't read the other three, I suggest you skip to chapter one of this and read them now. ^w^They’d finally started letting Genesis out of the mako caverns. Originally you’d thought that the crimson-haired SOLDIER – ex-SOLDIER, anyway – had stayed there because he wanted to, or because of extreme mako addiction, but apparently he had to stay down there. Restrictor, the head of Deepground, didn’t trust him being outside by himself.
It was justified, really; the moment he’d been given some leeway in SOLDIER he’d deserted and crested an army of mutant clones. Still. He was a changed man, more caring and compassionate – couldn’t Restrictor see that?
Obviously not, you complained inwardly as you leant back against the wall, watching the new recruits shuffling past, eyes fixed on the ground by their feet as if they’d never seen anything more fascinating. They were always so nervous that it was almost cute.
“Not much longer,” You reassured yourself. In half an hour you’d be off duty and the very second you were freed of your work commitments you’d be running down to the training room and Genesis. You hadn’t seen him in two days and that was two days too many.
“M-ma’am?”
Your head jerked up and you plastered what was very nearly a genuine smile on your face. The poor new boy sounded scared and the sight of your glaring, sour face, however feminine, wouldn’t be at all beneficial.
“Yes?”
“Can I…keep this? Or are they gonna take it from me?” He held out a green-blue materia in one shaking hand.
You sighed and did a quick calculation in your head. It would be pretty easy for him to hide it, but if they caught him and he told Restrictor who’d made him keep it secret…
Ah, well. It would be nice to do a good deed in Deepground since you didn’t get the chance to do many of those.
“Look, you’re meant to get it confiscated-“ His face fell, but you ignored him and continued, “-but if you press it in to your arm, just above your elbow, then they probably won’t pick it up on the scans.”
The boy grinned desperately. “Thank you…” As hastily as he could he absorbed the brightly coloured orb and, as soon as the glow had faded, he smiled once more at you – more confidently, this time – and then rushed off to rejoin the stream of recruits heading along the brightly lit corridor.
A high-pitched beep sounded from your watch, distracting a few of the young men. They watched intently as you opened the watch, pressed a few buttons to silence the beeps and then clipped the watch shut again, content that it wouldn’t go off for a few hours yet.
One code entered on a keypad later and you were trotting off down the hall after handing over supervision duty to another officer. Poor sod, you reflected as you picked up the pace, already longing for one of Genesis’s kisses. That man was going to be stuck there at ‘rush hour’, so he’d have to be on his toes. Normally you could slack off and listed for the loud people – they were the most dangerous and needed special attention – but what it was bust anyone could be packing heat, and if a single gun got past your guard…
Well. Death by Rosso.
It took the best part of ten minutes to reach the training grounds, even at a sprint, and all the time you spent running you were mentally cursing ShinRa for building such a freakishly large complex for such a small organisation. Well, maybe it wasn’t that small, but in comparison to SOLDIER it was nothing. Nothing at all.
It took you a few minutes to find Genesis and when you did he was surrounded by Deepground SOLDIERs, trying to teach them all how to attach in a group without getting in each others’ way. Ever since he’d appeared out of the mako chambers he was constantly instructing the SOLDIERs in basic combat – something they didn’t learn much of under Restrictor’s rule.
He nodded in your direction when he saw you, winked discreetly and then raised his sword, the crimson blade sending sparkling rays of light flying all around him. He looked almost like an angel…if he’d had his wing, he really would have seemed divine.
The SOLDIERs all flew at him at once and you had to look away, but a few loud thumps and metallic crashes later and Genesis was the last man standing. All the others were lying on the ground a few feet away, groaning and clutching bruised limbs.
“You’re getting better,” Genesis remarked, “but you still need practice. Next time I’m freed I’ll make sure to come back and continue advising you.”
A few of the men groaned thanks – or complaints, it really was hard to tell – which went ignored by Genesis. He was more interested in stalking over to you with an almost predatorial grin on his face.
“_____...two days without you was absolute torture,” He said, looping an arm casually around your waist and pulling you to his side. Your heart melted at the contact that you’d missed so dearly, even for the short time you’d been apart, and you let your arm fall around his shoulders, making sure that he couldn’t let go of you.
“I can’t say how much I missed you,” You assured Genesis.
He laughed quietly. “Been pining after me, have we?”
Your face coloured slightly, but you didn’t really feel embarrassed – Genesis’s little jibes were as much a part of him as his fixation with LOVELESS, and you adored him all the more for them.
“Perhaps…” He didn’t really need the confirmation so you didn’t give it to him.
“Come,” He said. He wasn’t usually one to change the subject so you guessed that it was pretty important, whatever he wanted to say. His next sentence caught you by surprise, though: “I’ve just had a brilliant idea.” Genesis wasn’t a spur of the moment sort of person so something must have really taken his fancy.
To your mild displeasure he let go of you and prised himself from your iron grasp, only to take a few steps away and close his eyes. It took a moment for you to apprehend what he was doing but as soon as you realised you turned your head – he always looked to be in agony when he freed his wing. Sure enough you heard him grunt in pain once of twice, but then he was by your side again and all of the pain was gone from his features.
Genesis wrapped his arms tightly around you and you instinctively did the same to him. “Hold tight,” He advised you, a roguish glint in his eyes. You gasped as his wing beat a few times and lifted you off of the ground leaving you clinging to him. He took a moment, presumably to gauge your weight, before soaring upwards, towards the wonderfully blue artificial sky.
“Breathtaking, isn’t it?” He shouted over the rush of the wind.
You tried to open your mouth but any sound you made was swallowed by the wind so you settled for simply nodding against his chest and clinging to him frantically. If it had been anyone but Genesis carrying you, you would have been terrified, but for some reason the ex-SOLDIER made you surprisingly calm. As annoying as that pacifying effect could sometimes be, in the circumstances it was extremely helpful.
You didn’t dare open your eyes when you landed but instead you allowed Genesis to lay you down on a cool, smooth surface that felt something like metal and then take his place beside you, shuffling around until you were resting your head comfortably on his chest.
“Would you care to guess where we are?”
You laughed quietly. “I was quite enjoying the mystery, but if you insist…we’re on the roof somewhere?”
You cracked open one eye just in time to see Genesis nod lazily, his perfect face framed by the cloudless sky. “Sharp, as always.”
You smiled and, had you been the shy type, you probably would have blushed at the compliment. A long relationship with Genesis and a series of promotions had left you relatively comfortable in the limelight, though, so you rarely blushed any more.
“Thanks, Genesis. So…” You waved a hand around vaguely, indicating the area around the pair of you, “what are we doing here?”
Genesis shrugged slightly. “I’m not completely sure. I just decided that it would be pleasant to be up here for a while, away from everyone…” As he let his sentence trail off he kissed the top of your head gently, at the same time moving one hand down the side of your waist to caress your hip.
Oh, so that was what he was planning. While Genesis had been trapped down in the mako cavern you’d never really got that far, being as the only flat surface was a rather pointy rock, but now…well, you stood a better chance. You’d tried a few times but for some reason you kept getting interrupted.
Still…up here…
Silently, Genesis moved his hands to rest beside your head and then propped himself up on his elbows so that he was looking down at you. He lowered himself until the tip of his nose was touching yours and his hair brushed across your forehead, creating a pleasant tickling sensation that made you giggle.
Genesis smiled a crooked smile and kissed you softly, pressing himself against you so that you could feel him without his crushing you. As you parted your lips, inviting him in, you let your hands crawl up his back and rest just below his shoulders, nails digging in to the heavy leather coat that he always wore.
His tongue entered your mouth and massaged your own as you wrapped your legs around his waist, pulling you closer to him. You gasped as his tongue explored your mouth – as if he didn’t already have it memorised – and one of his hands snaked up your shirt, massaging the smooth plane of your stomach.
You both jumped when a high-pitched jingle that was all too familiar rang out around you. Genesis broke the kiss, grimacing, and reached in to his coat in search of his mobile phone.
“Sir,” He said when he picked up, so you had to assume that it was Restrictor calling. “No. My apologies, sir.” He sounded curiously breathless – probably because he’d just been kissing you senseless. “Of course. I’ll be there immediately.”
He hung up with a sigh and disentangled himself from your limbs, ascending gracefully to his feet. His wing, which he still hadn’t shrunk back in to his body, beat once or twice and he looked at you pointedly, obviously seeing no need to tell you what was happening.
“Restrictor?” You asked anyway as you stood, allowing Genesis’s arms to encircle you and hold you tight as he took off.
You felt him nod against your head before he let you down. Your legs buckled when you hit the ground, the force of the impact throwing you in to the dirt, and you looked up in search of Genesis; he was already gone without so much as a goodbye.
“Injured?! What do you mean?” Judging from the look on Nero’s face, your own visage was a mask of fear.
“Don’t worry,” Nero said quickly, backtracking as fast as was humanly possible, “he’s not badly injured. It’s just his wing – he lost a few feathers and for some reason it’s giving him hell.”
You calmed down a little but not enough to prevent you from setting off at a brisk jog towards the medical wing. “I thought feathers didn’t have nerves in them.”
Nero shrugged slightly awkwardly. “I don’t really know. I don’t think he’s in pain, as such-“
“Then you shouldn’t have told me he was injured!”
“Of course, sorry. Anyway, I don’t think he’s in pain, but he’s certainly not enjoying being unable to fly.”
You groaned and cursed Genesis under your breath. For such an intelligent man he could be incredibly childish; you’d bet all the Gil you had that he wasn’t in any discomfort. No – he was probably just throwing a tantrum.
Despite your annoyance you sped up, moving from a comfortable pace to a slightly faster, more difficult one. You’d be out of breath by the time you reached the medical wing, but the earlier you got there the more lives you’d save.
You hoped.
Nero caught up with you quickly – considering he was lugging his metal wings along behind him you were impressed by his speed. “Calm down, ______,” he chided, “it’s all under control. Nothing could go wrong. Genesis is only one man.”
You just snorted – as if anyone would believe that there being only one Genesis made the doctors’ jobs any easier! – and continued to run towards the stairs which led down through the Deepground building. Rather worryingly, a large number of people were moving in the opposite direction. Was he…that bad?
You rounded the corner at the bottom of the stairs and saw a large crowd of people around the observation window that looked in on one of the treatment rooms – presumably, they were looking in to the room containing Genesis. With a grimace you elbowed your way through the crowd and opened the door, calling an apology to the people you’d pushed over before stepping in to the room.
“Close the blinds, will you?” Was the first thing Genesis said to you. You nodded once and stepped up to the window, pulling the blinds down to hide the fascinated faces of the onlookers before turning to inspect Genesis.
“What did you do?” You asked upon spotting the mako bonds holding him to the hospital bed.
“Nothing,” He assured you calmly, his face an emotionless mask…until a hint of guilt flickered across it.
“Genesis…” You scolded him. If he was feeling at all guilty then you’d definitely exploit it as best you could.
The redhead rolled his eyes. “I wasn’t at all happy when I got back from the mission Restrictor sent me on and when the doctor tried to inject mako in to my wings to heal them, I didn’t take well to the idea.”
“What did you do?”
Genesis looked sideways for a fraction of a second before answering. “I gave him what he deserved; I threw him across the room.”
You tutted and sat down on the edge of his bed, brushing his hair from his face like a mother would to her child. “Sometimes, I don’t know why I bother…” You muttered absent-mindedly.
“Because you love me, perchance?” Genesis supplied with a wry smile.
You laughed and nodded. “Maybe.” Despite all the changes Genesis had undergone since joining Deepground, he was still the same person he’d always been – the person you loved – underneath. No matter how hard he tried he would always be moody, temperamental, childish, flirtatious and perfect.
And yours. That was definitely the best bit, you decided.
“Would you care to untie me?” Genesis asked a after a minute of comfortable silence. You smiled, apologised quietly for not taking the initiative and doing it without prompting, and set your hands on the mako bonds at his ankles. Slowly, oh so slowly, you absorbed the glowing lights up your arms and in to your chest. It stung a little but you’d cope – you could just offload the excess mako on to Genesis when he was free.
When you’d cleared all of the bonds Genesis swung his legs off of the bed, rose gracefully to his feet and stretched his arms above his head, rolling his shoulders a few times to get the blood flowing again before vaulting over the bed in one leap and embracing you tightly.
“It’s been too long, ______.”
“It’s only been a week since I saw you, Genesis. Is it that long?”
Genesis kissed the top of your head lightly. “To me, beloved, an hour apart is a lifetime too long.”
You blushed lightly and smiled against Genesis’s chest. Your arms slowly snaked around to pull him closer to you and, after a moment, Genesis let his shin rest on the top of your head. His breath moved your hair slowly, tickling your scalp.
“Do you think they’ll let you out?” You asked conversationally, praying that Genesis would understand you when your voice was muffled by his coat.
Genesis shook his head against yours. “No, I don’t think that they will. I doubt that Restrictor approves of my actions.”
You grimaced and let out a low growl. “I suppose not. I can hope, though, right?”
You could sense Genesis’s warm smile radiating out from him and for a moment you wished that you could see it – it was still a rare event, to see you lover genuinely smile. You cherished it every time.
“Sometimes, I think that hope is all we have, ______,” Genesis commented dryly.
You just breathed out slowly and settled against Genesis, leaning your entire weight on him. He supported you easily, lying down slowly and letting you rest your head on his chest. You could feel the rise and fall as he breathed in and out, its gentle rhythm lulling you to sleep.
“Close your eyes,” Genesis whispered, “I’ll keep you safe.”
You smiled. “Thank you.”
And then you let sleep take over.
To your dismay you awoke in your own bed in your own dorm, the three other inhabitants nowhere to be seen. It was cold, cold and lonely, and instinctively you pulled your pillow down in to your arms and hugged it tight – as if it could replace Genesis’s warmth.
Realising how pointless laying awake and hugging a bag of feathers was, you sat up, yawned and flicked the light switch on. You’d been right – the room was empty apart from you.
You checked the clock and let out a low groan – eight thirty. That meant you were half an hour late for this morning’s training. With any luck you’d have an instructor who understood the appeal of sleeping late.
You shuffled over to your chest of drawers and pulled the top drawer open, looking for clothes – instead, you found a folded sheet of paper with your name written in neat cursive on the front.
Dear ______, it read, You need not worry about training – I’ve taken the liberty of booking you a day off. Fret not – there will be no consequences. Meet me in the courtyard at ten o’clock and we can decide what to do with our day.
You smiled and traced Genesis’s name at the bottom of the letter lovingly with a finger. Ten, huh… That gave you another hour and thirty minutes and, if you hurried, thirty minutes of that time could be spent curled up in bed.
Now that sounded like a plan.
You were still yawning and shaking the water from your hair when you moved from the relative gloom of the Deepground building in to the bright sunlight of the courtyard. It was fake sunlight, of that you were well aware, but you still smiled as it warmed your skin with its artificial rays.
You grasped a younger soldier by the arm as gently as you could and asked with a smile, “Have you seen Genesis?”
The boy grinned back shakily. “Y-yeah. He was here waiting for someone a few minutes ago, but he got a phone call…”
You cursed quietly under your breath but, upon noticing the boy’s frightened expression, added, “Thanks anyway.”
“No problem,” The boy squeaked and, the second you let go of his arm, he turned on his heel and took off at a brisk jog in to the building – away from you.
“Work?” You groaned, sitting down on a low wall and cradling your head in your hands. “What did they want that was so serious he had to abandon our day?”
“Nothing I couldn’t get out of,” Purred a velvety voice from behind you. A pair of arms snaked themselves around your neck, pulling you back against their owner’s chest.
“That’s good,” You said with a grin, your foul mood entirely evaporated at the mere sound of Genesis’s voice.
“It’s better than good,” Genesis agreed. He pressed his lips quickly to your neck, sending a happy shiver down your spine, before stepping over the wall you sat on and perching next to you.
“How-” You began, but Genesis interrupted.
“Don’t worry about the ‘how’s, the ‘why’s and the ‘who’s of all this. I believe we should be grateful for this shred of time together. So…” Genesis’s perfect lips curved in to a smile, “…what would you like to do?”
You shrugged a little before leaning in to Genesis, letting him embrace you tightly. “I don’t know. Don’t you have something in mind?”
Genesis shook his head. “Not really,” He said, laughing under his breath, “I didn’t think this far ahead. I assumed you, being imaginative, clever and witty, would think of something.”
You felt your face heat up but ignored it – being complimented by Genesis always provoked the same reaction, and you were used to it. The redhead was always showering you with flattering remarks and it hadn’t taken long for you to stop automatically thanking him and becoming flustered. Genesis could change a person as easily as he could change his clothes.
“Well,” You said after a few moments of thought, “Let’s go above ground. Walk around the city for a while.”
Genesis looked down at you, blinking once before kissing your lips gently and keeping the contact as you both stood. When you separated, he said with a smile, “As you wish, ______ - we’ll leave now.”
You smiled and laced your fingers with Genesis’s, letting his lead you back in to the shade of the building and along a few brightly lit corridors to the main entrance of Deepground and the cave that hid it. You’d never really managed to come to terms with the sheer size of the cavern – it must have been two or even three kilometres long, and if you stood at one end you could barely even see the half way point.
“Let’s fly,” You suggested when the guards let the pair of you pass. All it took was one pointed glance from Genesis and the Deepground soldiers were putty in his hands, and you were glad of that underlying fear that most of the soldiers seemed to feel. It got the job done a lot faster.
Genesis considered the proposal for a second before nodding and coming to a halt, opening his arms and pulling you close to him. You closed your eyes as the black wing burst from Genesis’s shoulder and tried to ignore the way he tensed, the pained gasp he attempted to bit back. It hurt that Genesis hurt, but he always told you that there was no way to stop the pain and that you had to live with it.
That was harder than he seemed to think it was.
Thankfully all thoughts of Genesis’s agony were blown away when he rocketed in to the air, carrying you with him, and sped away down the cave. You clutched Genesis’s body tightly, sure that he wouldn’t drop you but nervous despite that certainty, and closed your eyes, praying for the cave to end soon. Vertical flight you could cope with, but horizontal was still enough to make your stomach turn.
You were phenomenally grateful when, finally, you shot straight up and in to the blinding sunlight of the abandoned city. You’d been expecting the brightness – the simulated weather in Deepground reflected the weather around Midgar – but you still instinctively scrunched your eyes shut in an attempt to block out the light, all the while wondering how Genesis managed to keep his eyes open.
“I’m landing,” Genesis whispered in your ear. Only then did you realise that you’d slowed down enough to hear his voice over the rushing wind, and that was enough of a comfort to allow you to calm down and nod. A moment later your feet met the ground, guided carefully by Genesis.
“I’m glad that’s over…” You said when you’d regained your balance and stepped out of Genesis’s arms – inviting as his embrace was, you needed to move around if you wanted to regain your stability.
Genesis smiled wistfully and placed a hand on your shoulder, taking his place by your side so that he could catch you if you fell. “Why; am I that terrifying?”
You shook your head slightly, just enough to move your hair. If flicked out at the end and tickled Genesis’s fingers where they rested on your shoulder. “I don’t do air travel.”
Genesis chuckled under his breath and, despite your quiet protests, he lifted you up bridal style and carried you away from the gaping hole in the ground that was the entrance to Deepground. You were carried down a steep, grassy slope and along a pair of toppled pillars to the ground, where you managed to scramble out of his arms.
“Genesis,” You complained jokingly, “I can walk, y’know!” You punched his arm lightly, but he grabbed your wrist as you tried to pull away and tugged you closer to him so that your hands brushed against each other as you walked.
“Where are we going?” You questioned after a while. You were walking through a collapsed building, only a few stripes of light sneaking in through cracks in the fallen roof. It was silent bar your footsteps, eerily silent, and it was just starting to make you uncomfortable.
Genesis turned to you, saw the nervousness on your face and pressed a light kiss to your forehead to comfort you. “Don’t be scared, ______. I’ll look after you.”
He turned away from you after that, lifted your hand in his and stalked off ahead, pulling your gently behind him. It took you the best part of a minute to realise that he hadn’t answered your question at all, and by then it was too late to ask without making yourself look more stupid, so you had to stay quiet and allow yourself to be dragged.
You relaxed the second you were out of the building but Genesis only gave you an altogether too short moment of peace before lifting you up again – you didn’t complain this time, though, you just snuggled against his chest – and setting off up a pile of rubble, heading for the fallen roof.
“Where-” You began, speaking in to Genesis’s chest.
“You’ll see,” Genesis told you quickly, cutting off the end of your question. You could hear the smile in his voice, even if it wasn’t yet on his face.
For a second you debated asking Genesis, ‘Why?’ as well, but you decided against it. You could tell from his guardedness that he was plotting something and, when he was plotting something, he was…well, guarded. You’d never get anything out of him and there was no point wasting the breath you could be using to inhale his scent.
“We’re here.”
You snapped out of the daydream you hadn’t realised you’d fallen in to at the sound of Genesis’s voice and let him set you down on the ground again. His arms linked themselves around your waist and you didn’t attempt to move him, content to be held.
“Where’s ‘here’?” You asked him.
“Look,” He told you, and you agreed. At the sight of the view your breath caught in your throat and you turned away, burying your face in Genesis’s chest.
“It’s beautiful,” You breathed. That wasn’t a lie. You were perched on the highest point of the tallest building left standing in Midgar, looking out over the city. Life was just starting to flourish again after the attacks that ShinRa’s fall had provoked and you could see bursts of colour in the form of flowering plants that climbed up the walls of the empty houses.
“I thought you’d like it,” Genesis said with a smile, “since I can tell that you have an eye for outstanding beauty.”
You laughed under your breath and elbowed Genesis gently in the ribs. “If you’re not careful your head will get so big you won’t be able to walk through doors.”
Genesis laughed along with you for a moment, a rare, genuine laugh, before sighing and sinking in to a calm silence. “Do you realise how much you’ve changed?” He asked you after a second.
You blinked owlishly and looked up at his face. Genesis’s bright blue eyes were trained on the horizon, and his expression was distant. “W-what do you mean?” You asked, unable to keep the slight scared shake out of your voice. What if he…what if he was breaking up with you?
“You used to be so quiet, so reserved,” He sighed. His voice sounded a million miles away now and, had it not been for the strong arms which held you in place, you would have backed away from him. He was starting to worry you.
“Did I?” You asked, half wary, half scared.
Genesis nodded once. “You did. Now, though, you’re louder, more outgoing, more confident…”
“Is that good?” You asked when he trailed off.
Genesis finally came back to his senses, looked back to you and smiled slightly. “You look so scared, ______. Don’t worry, I’m not breaking up with you. I’m just saying that, no matter how different you are now, I still love you more than the stars themselves.”
Your face heated up but you managed to smile giddily. “Thank the Gods.”
Genesis laughed quietly and then let you go, removing your arms from around his waist and spinning to face away from you. You could hear the sound of him rummaging in his coat pockets, searching for something.
“Close your eyes,” He instructed after a second and, without hesitation, you obeyed. You heard the sounds of movement and the rustling of a leather trench coat before Genesis said quietly, “You can open your eyes now.”
Again you obeyed, and the moment you saw what Genesis was doing you gasped and then grinned widely. “Are you…”
Genesis nodded. “I am.” From his position, kneeling on one knee in front of you, he looked up and asked solemnly, “Will you, ______ ______, be my wife?”
You all but fainted there and then. “Of course!” You said quickly, your voice breathy with happiness. Genesis produced a small black box, opened it and removed a beautiful gold ring set with rubies – they were the colour of Genesis’s hair, you noticed giddily as said redhead slipped the ring on to your finger.
“I love you, Genesis,” You said when the ring was securely on your finger. Genesis smiled and rose to his feet with feline grace.
“I love you, ______,” He agreed. “I’ll love you no matter what. No matter how much you change.”
Those vital words exchanged, you fell in to Genesis’s arms and kissed his hungrily, passionately. His tongue parted your lips and slipped in to your mouth, massaging your own and making you moan in to the kiss.
You lifted your hands and laced them in Genesis’s hair, rubbing his scalp gently. He gasped appreciatively in to the kiss and moved his hands to the small of your back, pressing your body against his.
Perfect fit, you noticed for the nth time. You smiled against Genesis’s lips and separated for a short moment to draw breath before initiating another kiss.
You stayed there the entire day, kissing, touching, talking, anything so long as it was the two of you doing it. You’d never been happier than in the moment when you realised that Genesis wanted you to be his forever and you were sure that you’d never be happier again, so you resolved to make the most of it while it lasted.
A/N;
So many people have requested a forth oneshot so, since I do love bowing to public demand, I wrote one.
xD
Much love to FantasyAngel23 who really inspired me to write this with her awesome idea. You didn’t really see said idea in this chapter but, next time, it’ll be rather obvious.
^w^
As for the whole, ‘Wait, he’s proposing in chapter four?!’ thing, I can deal with it:
The timeline of this is screwed, to say the least. Chapter one was pre-Crisis Core, two was Crisis Core, three was FFVII and this one is just before Dirge of Cerberus. I reckon that means this story’s spread over ten years and, honestly, if Genesis hadn’t proposed in ten years I’d be worried.
So.
Message me with some Genesis love! <3
…
Oh, and…well, I’m considering writing a lemon to tie in with this somewhere. After all, these oneshots are scarily popular and Genesis is a sexy beast (in the words of Austin Powers). If you think I should then message me and I’ll see what I can do. (:
Did you like this story? Make one of your own!
