30 Days with Prince Obnoxious, What Could Go Wrong? [Part 18]
Melissa went to the Skybar with Alex. At the skybar, she found out that she's going some place very, very special with the royal family - including Alex. Jason is coming too.[Day 15]
"Mel!" Jason screamed from across the room, startling dozens of people. He made his way towards me.
That night, I was wearing a black strapless cocktail dress, a pair of small diamond earings, a silver charm bracelet on my left wrist, and a pretty decent diamond necklace. The simpler, the better.
Plus, if it weren't for me having a job at the castle, I would never buy this outfit either. So I just consider it as a little treat for my work.
"Jason!" I exclaimed back as he pulled me into a tight hug. My escort from hell had left me 2 minutes ago standing like a complete idiot on the black tile floor.
"Wonderful! I thought you would never come!"
"Well, His Highness forced me to come here," I said. He let me go.
"Where is he anyway?"
"No idea."
"Such a perfect gentleman is he?"
"Very," I replied back sarcastically, then grinning at Jason.
"You look very beautiful tonight Melissa," Jason said. I looked away. "Thanks."
I know for a fact that it's very rude to refuse a compliment, even though you don't believe in said compliments too much. "You look dashing yourself."
He grinned at me and slid an arm around my waist.
"Come on sweetheart, let's dance."
After spending around 35 minutes on the dance floor, we pushed out of the crowd and went to the bar - laughing our guts out.
Jason ordered a glass of white wine - frowning when I politely refuse because I don't drink.
"This..." I mumbled, taking a sip of my club soda.
"Hm?"
"This is wonderful J. The view is absolutely stunning!" I exclaimed loudly over the music. I swear if I was not having such a great time, I would already pushed the DJ down the building for making the music so damn loud.
"It is isn't it? This is the tallest skyscraper in Vallencia yet. And unlike the rest of the boring buildings in town, this one is a tad too modern," he explained, and he was right.
The town was full of colorful lights: red, green, yellow, orange, blue. It was a stunning view from up here, really. The skybar itself was a wonderful place to be. Even though there were a lot of people jumping up and down like monkeys to the music, the place have this modern-glow to it.
There were white sofas around, orange cushion seats next to the white fence around the edges. The bar was in a round-like shape thing. And the stools were steel black.
Everyone were having such a good time...
I wonder where Alex is?
"So I assume you're going to Paris too then?"
I choked on my drink. Jason was looking at the view, not noticing me.
"Er, what?" I asked spluttering. He looked at me curiously. "Paris? The whole royal family is going there. Mainy because the King and Queen have a business to attend there. But they wanted to bring Emily and Alex along you see..."
"How about Nicholas?"
"No, no I don't think so. He's back at America by then."
"What makes you think I would come?"
"Do you really think that the Queen would let Emily get run over by a truck?"
"Owh, right."
For a second there I almost forgot that I was supposed to be babysitting Emily. But then again, Paris - it's one in a lifetime chance for me.
"Are you going?" I asked Jason. He nodded happily.
"There's this meeting with the ambassador or something. My father would be attending it too. It's only for a week."
A week. In Paris. Ooh-la-la.
"Maybe the Queen hadn't announced it yet because the trip is like...one week from now. And I don't think you're the kind of girl who packs her bag with useless crap."
True.
"Paris huh?" I said dreamily. Jason smiled and put down his drink.
"Let's dance some more. I want to make your feet fall off," he said.
