30 Days with Prince Obnoxious, What Could Go Wrong? [Part 25 - End]
It's a goodbye to Alex from Melissa - as it is her last day working as a babysitter in Vallencia.[Day 30]
Nothing happened much for the past two days - literally. Without Jason, the palace seems less bright.
I've already packed my bag for tomorrow. All that's left is to think of a fib for my leave to tell Emily. And I'm bad at lying.
This is going to be hard.
"Mel, time to go!" Kate yelled. I gulped.
My last night in Vallencia.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Aw, look at you with your big red ribbon," I said, poking the ribbon on Emily's head. She 'hmphed'. "You look cute sweetie."
Kate cleared her throat loudly. I rolled my eyes playfully at her. "You look cute too Kate."
"Hey, can I borrow her for a second?"
I whipped around, staring into the blue eyes that I had known to love so much. No wonder people around us were looking at our spot dreamily.
"Sure! Come on Emily!" Kate said and snatched Emily away from me. I watch as the both of them stopped at a cotton candy stall and felt a pang of guilt. I was planning to spend the rest of the night with Emily.
Alex's hand clasped around mind, leading me away to the garden. Oh well, Emily can wait.
The girls who saw this action glared at me.
"So?" I said, almost sounding too impatient. He looked at me with a certain annoyance plastered across his face.
"You know...you can stay here, in Vallencia, a tad longer..." he trailed off. A small smile tugged the edge of my lips. "Alexander Nicholas Nathaniel Wellington, are you saying that you're going to miss me?" I said, holding my laugh back. Hell, finally I can get his full name right. His eyebrows furrowed in frustration.
"Who the heck will miss you?" he spat. I chuckled. "Oh admit it Alex, you'll miss me-"
He lightly planted a kiss on my lips. A few seconds later he pulled away. "Fine, I'll admit it," he said slyly.
I glared at him. "Don't do that!"
"What? You mean this?"
Alex pulled me into a hug before kissing me tenderly. He was enjoying this - my flustered face I meant - I just knew it. He started to move down to my neck and whispered, "Can't you stay here?"
I sighed - in pleasure or frustration, I have no idea.
"I'm not. I've got a job offer in Manhattan," I said, careful not to say that his brother would be my boss after I'm done here.
"You can't go there," he said, being his usual control-freak-self. He stopped kissing me.
"Of course I can. I already booked the ticket-"
"No, really."
"Oh yeah? Why's that?" I said, a bit annoyed.
"Because...I really...lov-"
"Stop." I said sternly before he could go any further. "You don't love me Alex. You can't."
His expression turned into what seems to be moderate anger. "Why can't I?"
My hands were ball up into fists. "Are you kidding me Alex? Do you love what you have right now hm? Do you love having people serving you every single ticking seconds in your life?" I said, as calmly as I could.
"Of course I do!"
"Do you want to let all of that go? Being rich? Having a big palace to live in? Being titled 'Prince'?"
He scowled at me. "Of course not-"
"Then you simply can't love me."
He looked a bit shocked.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Maybe all the lights had screwed up with Alex head that night to tell Melissa that he loves her - almost. She stopped him anyway.
But the sudden realization that her words are true smacked him across the face. She knows.
Is Alex really ready to give up everything for her? And the idea seems simply ridiculous now. How ever could he love this girl was a mystery to even him. They had been going for each other's throat for this whole month.
But the truth is that he really did care about her.
They stood there for a moment, before Melissa released herself from Alex's grip.
"You're not ready to let go of the luxury and glamor Alex..." she said, almost painfully. "And-" she paused, gesturing to the hundred thousands of people gathering at the festival that night, "-you got a kingdom tu rule later. They're depending on you are they not?" she said.
For the first time in Alex's life, he was really, literally speechless.
"I've got to go...my flight is early tomorro-"
It was snowing.

[Day 31]
I looked painfully at the sleeping figure in front of me that is Emily. Underneath my black trench coat, I was wearing a white turtleneck sweater with a silver, thin, chain-like belt around my waist. I was also wearing a pair of dark blue jeans and a pair of 2-inches high-heeled black boots.
Emily looked so peaceful, and the white bunny plush that I got for her was cuddling in her arms. I bent over and kissed her cheek. "Goodbye Em," I whispered very quietly that it's barely audible.
And with that, I was off to the airport, fiddling with the necklace that Alex's had given me all the way.
When I checked in, I found out that my flight was delayed for a bit because of the slightly bad weather this morning.
Vallencia.
I'm going to miss it so much.
The memories with Emily, the jokes with Jason, the shopping with Kate...and the charm of Alexander. I closed my eyes, trying to hold back the tears. I started to imagine Alex's handsome face...and his hot touch against my skin...and his voice.
It's as if he's there in the same building as me. But I know that's not possible. I wrapped the knitted scarf around my neck. Stupid airport. It was already bloody cold outside, why, oh God, why must they switch on the air conditioner to the max?
When the plane finally arrives, skidding on the runway a little bit, I felt more depressed.
I should have said a proper goodbye to Alex.
With one last look towards the terminal, I smiled at the stewardess and entered the plane.
But little did I know that Alex was in the airport, a little bit too late.

A/N: Do you want a sequel?
Do you reaaaaaaaally want it? ;D Because I'm not going to end it there. Melissa Winter's 'fairytale' is not finished yet. And I guess, if you really want a sequel, I would try my hardest to make it more better than this story of mine.
Thanks for reading! Hoped you enjoyed it!
