Nicholas faked a laugh. "Oh, OH! No- shut the hell up, I'm talking!" he suddenly snapped at his father. Alex watched in amusement with Emily who was sitting on his lap. He didn't even notice the girl was there.

"First, you kicked me out, threatened to disown me - which right now, doesn't seem like a bad idea afterall!" Nicholas yelled. "And suddenly, because Alexander here had met a girl in America, you're asking me to come back and rule?! Like him, I don't really want to wed a snobby aristocrat!" he yelled, but then his angry face turned into something that resembles realization, before turning back into his pissed off mood.

"Oh darling, if not you and Alex, who will? We can't let little Emily there to rule the kingdom now can't we?"

Emily jumped slightly. Alex rolled his eyes. "No we clearly can't. Who the hell are you kidding, that old prick is going to die soon - I don't know from which; Nick killing him or him killing himself," Alex sneered. That earned him a glare from his father.

Curses were flying everywhere, and Emily was in the room, and non of them cared. Charming.

"The reason on to why you were kicked out was your own fault-"

"My fault?!" Nick yelled, determinedly, and he faked another sarcastic laugh. "Come on! The only thing I did was let loose for a while, got drunk and toy around with the security!"

"Which led to 40 accidents in 60 seconds and killed almost 2 dozens of people sweetheart," his mother said calmly.

"Oh...right," he said promptly. Alex nearly burst out laughing on how stupid his brother had become in standing up for himself. He just made things worst for him. Alex's mother poured a glass of whiskey and pushed it aside for his father, then drink the whole bottle herself.

"Do you think I want you to be the next in line for the throne?" The king started calmly. Nick folded his arm impatiently. "Do you think I want to?!" he replied back as calmly as he could.

"Then it settled then, Alex shall be the king. End of story."

Alex's jaws dropped. "No it is not!"

Nick gazed towards Alex. "Are you really serious with this girl?"

"Yes. And unlike you, I'm done screwing people-"

"Darling, Emily's in the room with us. Watch your tongue," his mother said. Alex face turned red with anger.

"Oh now you care!"

"End your relationship with whatever tramp you had picked, and you shall marry that effing' duke's daughter damn it!"

"...Which one?" Alex said cautiously.

"Vivian," his father grumbled and left the room as quickly as the colors in Alex's face had left him.

Vivian. That's more worst than the girl who had followed him all year last year.

But before he could put a further thought in his impending horror, Nick dragged him outside of the dining room, pushing Emily aside without a word. After there were outside, Nick grip on Alex's shoulder tighten as he slammed him into the nearest wall - which clearly took Alex by surprise.

"I told you not to do anything stupid Alex!" he whispered menacingly.

"Pardon?"

"That girl you meet in America...is it Melissa?!"

I got another phone call from Nicholas.

"What's up?" I said, munching on my bagel. The cream from it was stuck on my bottom lip, and that made me earned a look of disgust from Carol - the executive's size 0 PA who was actually trying to be Nick's.

I set my coffee down on my desk.

"You should take the week off..." he trailed off.

"I still got tons of appointments to cancel you know," I said, scowling towards the daily planner that I had carefully made for him. It was packed, that I can say.

"You can do it at night at your place or something. I just don't want you to be working," he said as nicely as he could, although I could still hear his pissed off tone in his voice.

"Um, okay," I said, not in the mood to put up a fight today. "What happened really?"

"Some fight about Alex meeting a girl in New York, which obviously made him not eligible for the throne," Nick said. My brain stopped working. Oh damn it.

"But hey, I'm sure this girl is another slutty girl that he opt to choose. I'm guessing they are not that serious about it. For some reason though, Alex do not want to end his relations with this girl," Nick said casually.

"Uh, well..." I swallowed hard. "That sounds bad..." I trailed off.

"But he's going to do it anyway because I had reasoned with him about it. On first of March, he would be marrying this duke's daughter named Vivian or something," he said. I stared at my bagel.

Suddenly, it doesn't feel as delicious as it was before. I bit my lip, trying to stop the tears from my ears to fall down.

"Good for him!" I said in an unusually high-pitched voice, then cupped my mouth

"I'll be back next week," Nick said and then he hung up. As soon as he did so, I threw my coffee and bagel into the rubbish bin, gathered all of the stuff that I would be needing from my desk, stuff most of them in my handbag and rushed out of the building.

I knew seeing him again would be such a bad idea.
