A Lifetime with Prince Obnoxious [Part 7]
Nicholas came back early to NY and he had asked Melissa to do something odd that got her confused.Alex stood rigid, glaring at everything his eyes set upon. His right hand was bandaged due to what happened the other day. Now that his rage was somewhat over - he felt like it was a stupid thing to do to wreck his whole room.
Painful too.
Facing Vivian was probably the most hardest thing he had done in his entire life. The girl couldn't stop giggling for some reason. Every sentence or word she spoke are ended with a high-pitched, annoying giggle. Annoying little brat.
Slumping back into his chair, he started to wonder what Melissa was doing - whether she was pissed off or not that he didn't see her yesterday.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What the hell is that horrible ringing?! Who the heck would make their ears suffer so much like this with just one simple ringtone-
Oh wait, it's mine.
With closed eyes, I grabbed around the bed, looking for it. When my hands were finally clasping around it, I answered my phone - just to hear the jolly voice of Nicholas Wellington, which was too loud for my headache to handle.
"Morning sweetheart! I cut my plans short and came back to New York about an hour ago," he said gaily. I ran a hand through my hair, ruffling it out a bit in the way and turned to my sides.
I almost jumped at the sight.
What's Daniel doing here? This is not my room.
"Uh, um, morning," I whispered back to Nicholas. My hands automatically went tugging the edge of the comforter tighter around me. That's when all of last night's event came crashing down on me. I was mortified.
"But I'm taking the week off anyway, too much overwhelming stress back at Vallencia," he whispered back quickly, paused, and asked, "why are we whispering?"
"No reason," I whispered, still looking at the sleeping form of Daniel Williams. He shifted a bit, and then opened his eyes.
He smiled at me and said, "Good morning Melissa...what are you doing in my room...?" he said, trailing off. Then his expression turned into something that resembles shock and realization at once before springing off the bed.
I'm sure both of us are so thankful that he at least had his boxers on.
On the bright side, he's really a good-looking man.
"Melissa?" Nick spoke, almost in a sing-song tone. I jumped a bit, almost forgetting that I was on the phone with my boss. "Now is not really a good time..." I squeaked. Daniel hit his palm on his forehead and brought it down to his chin.
"I still want you to take the week off with me. But I need you to do one tiny little thing for me," he said.
"W-what?" I stuttered, getting up myself but wrapping the white sheet around me.
"Can you tell Daniel Williams and tell him I'm back?" he asked politely. My whole body turned cold.
"Sure, sure. Do I have to meet him um...personally?" I said, turning a bright shade of red.
"No need. Just tell him I'm here and I'm looking forward to our usual evening coffee," he said joyfully.
"...Okay, I need to go. Bubbye," I said and shut my phone close.
"I am so sorry," Daniel said. I think he was trying to yell but his voice came out in a whisper. I nodded.
"We're both drunk, let's...let's just forget this ever happened," I said, grabbing for my top - which was on the lamp. I put it back on quickly.
"Uh, Nick wants to see you for an evening coffee or something today," I shot out, trying to change the subject...
Clearly that's a stupid attempt. He nodded.
"Okay, okay. Tell him I'll be there at 6," he said, averting his eyes away from me.
We were like that for a few seconds before I took the oppurtunity to slip on my skirt.
"Hey Mel," he suddenly said. I shot an almost frightful look towards him. "This whole thing, let's not talk about it unless...maybe, if we are 60 years old and older where we could probably laugh about it," he said quickly. I nodded in agreement.
"But, let's not forget about it. It was...nice."
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I want to go to Nick's place and die in his arms - all the while the dying me will talk about that I had slept with one of his friends.
But he did called me to his house. And to my surprise, it was spotless.
Then I realized that I hired a maid here so...
"Melissa I think you need to move," he said. I gaped at him. "Why? I love my current apartment!" I said.
"Because uh, it's too far away from the office and from my house," he said. I shot him a look of confusion. "But, it's just a 20 minutes walk to the office and a 30 something minutes using a cab to your hous-"
"I don't like you living in a small apartment," he said, completely changing his mind. I was taken aback by this.
"Um, really it's fine!" I said. The aparment was spacious enough for me, I don't know what's wrong with Nick today.
"I'll buy the whole friggin' house for you if you agree to move dammit!" Nick said.
I was so shocked at his statement that my knees started to grow weak. Why was he so eager to move me out?
"Please Melissa? I'm begging you, please," he said. My lips went dry.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Nicholas knew that this was a stupid thing to do. But he remembered giving Alex her address before - not good. That bastard might kick down her door and in a romantic way swept her off her feet, carrying her to elope in...in Kazakhstan or something. He didn't know.
And he didn't want to rule the kingdom, let alone to let the kingdom rulled by others who is not related to his family. He was being selfish, he realized that. And he's about to take Alex's only (possibly) first love away from him - and that was rude, mean and selfish of him.
But for Vallencia and in order for him to stay and lead his somewhat happy life here, he must be a bit selfish.
"Fine. Fine Nick, I'll move."
