"Melissa," Alex whispered lightly towards me. I grinned giddily.

"Jerk. I thought you were getting married to that girl," I answered. Alex couldn't help it but smile at me.

"I told you before haven't I?" Alex whispered, pulling me closer to him. His lips are so close to mine that I could feel his hot breath slowly caressing my skin. "I love you," he continued then lightly kissed me on the lips. I kissed him back.

Sadly for me it was all a dream.

I miss Alex.

I woke up stretching and thinking of what I should do today since I got the week off. But I can't help but wonder if Nicholas was okay in his own house. That guy can be dangerous to himself sometimes.

One time, he didn't come to work, which totally freaked me out because he had a major big-shot meeting that day. So I went to his house, just to find a knife sticking on his leg.

He told me he tried juggling with it and one thing lead to another...he was sent to the hospital and as a result, he limped towards the meeting room.

Suddenly, Nick called me.

"Good morning sweetheart!" he said in a very joyful manner.

"Morning to you too."

"How's the new house?"

"Wonderful. But why did you bought it for me? I could just pay it for myself..." I trailed off.

And that, my friend, was a lie. This house costs more than my leg!

"Uh, just a 'thank you' from me Mel. Anyway, want to go out for breakfast?" he asked, changing the subject quickly. My eyebrows furrowed. He's been acting weird. Maybe it's a cover-up for whatever happened in Vallencia? You know, maybe he's silently depressed but he's too nice (or egoistical) to tell it to me?

"Sure- oh wait a minute. Nicholas what did you do?" I said threateningly.

"Don't give me that tone Melissa," he said back sternly. I rolled my eyes and got out of bed. "Then it's okay if I come there myself hm?"

"No, no, no! Everything's fine!"

"Did you break the microwave again?" I asked.

"...No."

"Liar," I said, suddenly finding this amusing.

"It's true! I did not break the microwave again! Do you think I'm that stupid?" he said casually. I waited for a few seconds before he spoke again. "Fine...I yanked the door open too hard and it...just ripped off from the microwave."

It never ceases to amaze me how strong he can be sometimes - especially when he's extra pissed off.

"Then make eggs for yourself," I said.

"I don't know how to - oh, do you consider black eggs as a nutritious breakfast?"

"Toast?"

"I accidentally burned the toaster."

"How ironic."

"Cookies then?" I said thoughtfully.

"Oh! Good idea! Only I brought them outside and the jar smashed and...you can't expect me to eat the cookies that had touched the ground can you?"

"3 seconds rule," I said jokingly.

"Come on Melissa, let's grab breakfast outside!" he whined. I laughed. "Oh fine."

Nicholas was stressed out. Last night, Alex called him and yelled so hard he thought his eardrums would burst.

Nicholas know he's going to do something stupid again. And he can't risk that happening. So he shut up Alex by saying that Melissa had moved to a house. But that's all he's telling him before he hung up.

This was probably the meanest thing that Nicholas had ever done before.

He slipped his arm around Melissa's waist in a protective-brotherly kind of way. She continued munching on her muffin, resting her head on his shoulder lightly.

Then he remembered something and smirked.

"Had a nice time with Daniel?"

Melissa coughed uncontrollably. "H-he told you?"

"I tell him everything. It's only fair if he tells me everything too right?"

"Stop being so honest," she mumbled flustered.

With any luck, Nicholas really hoped that Daniel and Melissa would eventually be a couple.

Then he felt a pang of guilt when he sees the necklace that was around Melissa's neck. She wore that almost everyday. He had seen that necklace before. It costs a fortune for her - she can't afford stuff like those, she admitted it herself.

And Nicholas knew for a fact, that Alex gave her that necklace.

The guilt came crashing down, and suddenly his morning doesn't seem too bright after all.

Maybe he shouldn't do this to Alex and Melissa...it's really unfair towards both of them.

He watched as Melissa sat on the bench, her eyes shone brightly. It's amazing how she doesn't feel cold at all.

"Aren't you going to sit?" she asked innocently. Nicholas sighed and sat next to her, thinking if he's doing the right thing.
