Of all the people in the world why did I have to turn the most idiotic, irresponsible, person like Marcus into one of us ? Why of all the people in the world why did it have to him to get in trouble with the elders ? Of all he people in the world why did it have to my pet that got in trouble with the Elder’s ? And what the hell could he have done to even got in trouble with the elder’s ? Usually you have to do something really big to get their attention.

That’s what scared me, the Elders were a group of vampires that lived over a millennium now they are the voice of law for us. They were the wisest and the most powerful (despite their age).

I parked outside of what looked like and abandoned building and ran inside. I traveled down a umber of hallways until I reached a large door with a hand scan to the left of it. I put my hand on it and kept it their until I felt like something gave it a small bite and the door slide open. As soon as I waked in it smelled like blood and perfume, I walked down the hall into a large chamber, it looked more like a arena where I was standing with hundreds of people sitting above me. Nine Elders one levels before me and Marcus being held tightly by two men and a look of embarrassment on his face.

“Valeria Integra Nightshift , is this your pet ?” asked a Elder pointing at Marcus.

“Sadly yes he is,” I answered.

“He has committed a serious crime that could of put our whole kind in danger,” another Elder said to me.

“ And what crime is that my lord ?” I asked.

“In board daylight he attacked a man with his power and he had in his pocket Vapomniac,” another one answered.

Vapomniac like any other drug is illegal and like any other drug it killed. The drug gave the people who took it the name “The Untouchables” and it was literal. Touch the person who took it and you were infected just like that. Once inside your body it ate your organs and the cells in your brain. It could be transported many ways sex, the touching I just mentioned, but also biting which made it bad for our prey cause it effected them as well but instead of suffering like we do they just die right then and there. But what had me wondering was why the hell would Marcus hae this kind of drug.

“What is his punishment ?” I finally asked.

“Since it’s his first crime we’re letting him off easy for a whole six months he shall wear the Terran Chain, do you agree with this ?” one of them asked.

“Yes sir. The men who were holding Marcus released him but not before putting a collar around his neck, after that he walked over to me with his head down. We left after that and once we got in my car just sat there for awhile in silence.

“Listen Val I’m really sorry about this,” Marcus said. I stayed silent.

“Hey are you listening to me ?” he asked.

“Shut up,” I said starting up the car and driving out the parking area.

“What the hell are you so mad about you didn’t have to go in there and be embarrassed in front of all those people,” he said. That did it.

“I SAID SHUT UP AND WHAT WOULD YOU KNOW ABOUT BEI’N EMBARESSED ,” I yelled at him. He looked scared, I usually don‘t have to blow up at him trying to get a point across to him but I wasn‘t in the mood.

“Marcus you don’t even know how embarrassing it was to know that my pet was in their. You bein’ is like saying I don’t discipline you and that’s like telling other vampires to think I’m irresponsible or maybe I should just do what other owners do and hit you and just torture you in different ways to make sure you don’t disobey me anymore, huh should I do that Marcus,” I asked him still looking angry.

He looked at me like I was crazy like he really trying to see if I would d those things to him. I sighed and stopped at the stop light in front of us. I hat to do this to him but if it really had to come to me punishing him like others do to their pets I would do it. I usually wasn’t mean to him but you can’t blame me.

“I’m sorry I’m an embarrassment to you,” I heard him say quietly. I was about to yell at him until I saw the sad look on his face. It was like a little puppy with his tail between his legs. I sighed and ruffled his hair a little.

“Your not an embarrassment to me you just got to learn these other vampires aren’t like me their not gonna be sweet on you and I blame myself on that cause after forcing you to drink blood I got sweet on you and let you have too much freedom,” I said driving again.

“So are you goin’ to tell me why you had the drugs or what ?” I asked. He looked nervous for a few moments then finally gave in.

“I was gonna try them with a few friends of mine,” he said looking out the window.

“The people you were goin’ to try them with…had they ever tried ?” I asked concerned.

“No it was goin’ to be our first time,” he said.

“Well the Gathering is tomorrow so it’ll be forgotten by then,”. After that I dropped Marcus off at his place and went back home. I had to rest for the Gathering so I was going to sleep all day. I wish I didn’t have to do so much.
