A Lifetime with Prince Obnoxious [Part 12]

"Alex, breakfast," Nicholas called out lightly. Since Alex rushed into the ward to see Melissa, he'd been staying in Nicholas' house and been depressed ever since. He won't even eat - which is quite weird because Nichols knew for a fact that Alex and food goes along too well.

It's been almost two weeks and there are still no words from the doctor. And until that happens, no one is allowed to see her - not even her anxious parents.

So most of us got the idea that maybe she couldn't be save after all.

"Alex," Nicholas shouted, more sternly. He is sympathetic and depressed too over this situation - but that doesn't mean that he will let his brother starve to death in his house.

"Go away!"

Brilliant.

In frustration, Nicholas kicked the door open.

"Do you think I'm playing reverse psychology on you?" Alex yelled.

"Alex you've got to eat something!" Nicholas said, ignoring Alex's previous comment.

"No I don't. I'm perfectly fine," he mumbled. Nicholas sighed and walked over to his brother, swinging the chair so that Alex was facing him.

But the sight that meet Nicholas' eyes weren't pretty. Alex eyes were bloodshot red and the colors in his face had drained away.

"Alex..." Nicholas trailed off, a bit frustrated.

"Shut up."

Nicholas was about to yell at him again but before he could do so, Alex cut him off with a sharp stare. "I know who did it...I know who tried to kill Melissa..."

A look of pure disgust was plastered on Daniel's face.

"I can't believe you guys didn't introduce her to me! I WANT TO GO TO THE HOSPITAL!" Chelsea Brown said loudly, pouting. Chelsea is a friend of Daniel and Nicholas - with long blond hair and hazel eyes.

Alex was now nibbling on his bread. At least his taste buds actually is functional now.

"But why are you two not reporting this to the authorities?" Daniel said, ignoring Chelsea. Nicholas looked away.

"Because he's the king and Melissa is just another commoner to the world's eyes. My father could defend himself by saying that he thought Melissa was a threat and something of that sorts," Nicholas said, obviously disgusted by the thought.

"That's justice for you mate," Alex said, gazing up to the ceiling.

There was a momentary silence before Nicholas' phone rang up loudly.

"Nicholas Wellington?"

"Yes, this is him speaking."

"I'm calling here to tell you that Melissa Winters is partially recovered-"

"W-what?"

"To cut the long story short Mr Wellington, she's awake."

"Mother, I'm fine!"

Well, that was a lie. I felt like I'd be better off dead rather than feel this pain on the right side area of my stomach, my hands felt like it wasn't even there, I was hungry like hell and my legs are killing me.

Luckily enough - insurance were able to cover this, plus for my laser scar removal thingy too. I don't like paying attentions to doctor - they're too scientifically boring.

After they left, I slept some more, maybe because of the inconsiderable amount of pain I am in right now.

When I woke up, I found - to my utter surprise - Alex.

His legs were pulled up until his knees were at the same level of his chin, and he was looking sideways - towards the window.

He then looked towards back at me, and his somewhat bloodshot eyes widened.

"You're...awake-"

"Alex...Alex I need muffins."

"W-what?"

"Muffins. I need. Them. NOW!"

A/N: This is such a letdown for me. I didn't want to shoot Melissa almost to death! XD

I'm really sorry if anyone feels a bit confused by this sudden depression over the past few chapters. But a tragedy happened to us at school and I had to almost practically force myself to do a happy scene you know? XD
