Arranged Marriage to My Ex-Best Friend...This Marriage Is So Screwed {Chapter 24}

So a friend of mine told me that some of the chapters made the most popular list. That's very exciting. I'm sorry that I haven't been able to post in a while. I have an English project that's due on Tuesday and then I have school wide presentation on Monday. So I've been doing a lot of work lately.

*Aiden's POV*

“I’m back,” Mom says when she enters the room.

“Mom, shh, Lian is sleeping. I don’t want to wake her up,” I whisper.

“Sorry,” Mom smiles when she sees where Lian is sleeping. Lian is still using me as her pillow, but now she’s also kind of hugging me. One of her arms is wrapped around my chest. It kind of hurts because of my bruises but it also feels nice.

“It’s nice to see Lian and you are still close even if you have amnesia,” Mom says trying to break the silence.

“We haven’t really talked yet. She just looked so tired so I told her to sleep first,” I tell Mom.

“Aiden I hate to leave you after you just woke up, but I’ve got so much stuff to do. Dria has a bake sale tomorrow and I still haven’t baked anything since I’ve spent all my time waiting for you to wake up. Braden’s been a help, but he also works so I really have to do most of it still.”

“Mom, don’t worry. I’ll be okay. Lian is here so I’ll ask her to help me. Other people need you too. I’m not the only person in the world.”

“I wouldn’t want to bother Lian. Make sure to ask Lian if she’s okay with helping you first. In case she says yes I’ll leave the things on the table. Bye Sweetie.”

“Bye Mom.”

After Mom leaves I watch TV again. I watch 6teen. It was a pretty interesting show. The guys were hilarious. It was cool that it was a marathon. Each show is 30 minutes long. After my 6th show I feel Lian start to move.

“Good morning sleeping beauty, or should I say good afternoon?” I whisper.

“How long have I been asleep?” Lian asks. She rubs her eyes and gets out of my bed to stretch. It was a very beautiful sight. She looked so innocent and child like it was adorable.

I look at the clock in the room, “Well the clock says it’s two and you fell asleep at 10 so that’s around 4 hours.”

“I’m sorry. I must have gotten heavy after a while. What did you do while I was sleeping?”

“I watched TV for most of the time. My mom passed by to drop off the stuff, but she had to do something. Don’t say sorry for sleeping. You needed it. Look now you don’t have bags under your eyes anymore, or at least it’s not as obvious.”

“Well I guess I’ll just have bags under my eyes forever,” Lian pouts.

“No, you won’t you just need a good night’s sleep. You spent most of the four days awake.”

*Lian’s POV*

I like this Aiden. He’s so unguarded around me, like how we were before. I feel bad though, that it took Aiden to get into a car accident for us to be okay.

“I promise to get more sleep. You sound like my mom.” I laugh.

“I’m sure you’re mom is a wonderful woman,” Aiden remarks.

“Well of course she is. How else would I be so lovely?”

“Someone’s being very conceited right now.”

“I can’t help it. I’m just too wonderful.” We both start laughing. It’s nice to see that Aiden’s in a better mood now than when he woke up.

“Could we start looking at my things?” Aiden asks when we both stop laughing.

“Sure let me just catch my breath. My stomach hurts from laughing so much.”

I go to the table to see what’s there. There are pictures from when Aiden and I were little, pictures of his family and pictures from vacations.

*Aiden’s POV*

“Where would you like me to begin?” Lian asks.

“Well Mom did mention someone named Dria and Braden. I was wondering who they are.”

“They’re your siblings. Braden is your older brother, he’s 21. Dria is your younger sister, she’s 11. You also have another sister, Sophie, and she’s 4.”

“Oh. Why haven’t I seen them?”

“Well you did only wake up. We didn’t tell Sophie how bad things got, but she did come just not in this room. Dria and Braden both came to visit while you were in a coma.”

It’s nice to know I have siblings. I really want to see them I wonder how my life is outside of this hospital. It’s nice, I’m the middle child in a way. “I see. I hope they visit soon.”

“They will, don’t worry. Braden should be able to visit to soonest.”

“So how long have we known each other?”

“Practically our entire lives. Our mom’s are best friends and your dad and my step-dad are best friends too.”

“I see. Can we look at the pictures now?” I really want to see how everyone looks. The only people I’ve seen are Lian and Mom. I haven’t even seen my dad. I wonder why.

“Yeah sure, let me get it.”

“Hey Lian,” she turns around to face me, “why hasn’t my dad visited me yet?”

“Oh well while you were still in a coma he had to leave for work. He really didn’t want to but he had no choice. He knows you’re okay though, so when he comes back he’ll come directly here.”

“Okay. Can I see a picture of my family first? I kind of want to be able to imagine how they look.”

*Lian’s POV*

Which family picture should I show? I wasn’t here for two years so how would I be able to tell him a story about that? The only recent family picture that’s here is from the pool party. I guess that’s good enough. I’ll just leave Chloe out of it. Yeah, that’s exactly what I’ll do.

I raise the picture so Aiden can see it. I point out everyone in the picture. Aiden just nods his head. I just keep going through the pictures with Aiden. I stop at one picture. I still remember this day. It was Aiden and my birthday party.

“What’s wrong?” Aiden asks.

“Oh. Nothing, it’s just this picture brings back funny memories,” I reply.

I hand Aiden the picture. He looks at me kind of confused. Until this picture all the pictures I’ve shown him were somewhat recent.

“This is a picture from our birthday party,” I clue him in.

“Our party?”

“Yeah, we have the same birthday.”

“Oh. Okay, I want to hear this story it seems interesting. You look really sad and cute in the picture.”

“Well thank you. I know I’m cute.” I laugh.

“Well Miss Cutie I want to hear my story.”

“Someone’s not patient. But I’ll tell you the story anyways, cause I’m just that nice. So the picture is you and me after we blew our candles. It was our 7th birthday. I’m pouting because you blew the candles on my cake. I was very territorial then. You have that evil smirk on your face because you caked me. Then we basically started a cake fight. No one was safe. In the end everyone had some frosting on them somewhere. No one forgot that birthday. We sort of became immortal after that with the kids our age. Our parties were the coolest parties to get invited to. It’s too bad Eliza didn’t take a picture of that cake fight. It would be nice to show. We had to clean the backyard for days.”

“I was a very devious child. I’m quite proud of myself. It takes skill to do that. What other mischievous things did I get myself into?”

“Oh you did a lot of evil things.” I roll my eyes while saying that.

“I would like to hear them. If you don’t mind of course,” Aiden smirks.

“I’d be glad to tell you all the things you’ve done. It may take a while though.”

“I have time so there’s nothing to worry about. Besides I want to know what I got myself into as a child. You have no idea how frustrating it is to not know anything about yourself.”

“I’m sorry it must be very frustrating for you, but remember, your memory will come back. Your amnesia is only temporary.” I put my hand on top of his and squeeze it.

“Enough sad talk. Let’s talk about my brilliant past.”

Aiden never lets go of my hand so I begin to unwind his past for him.
