The moment I tasted the rich blood of the screaming man I didn't stop. My teeth sank lower and his screams pitched higher.
He fell forward on his knees, in front of me.
I pulled away and looked at the man. No more than a mere mortal. Nothing less than a good meal.
The dark blood gushed out of the gash and down his neck, taunting me to come back.
I held my breath to stop the smell from intoxicating my nostrils.
"Why?" I heard the man barely make out.
"Why not." I stated coldly and snapped his neck.
Looking back at his lifeless body I sighed. The moster inside me grumbled for more, to finish off the cold rotting piece of meat.
Instead I went over to the window of the office building on the twenty third floor and shattered it. Frusterated.
I looked down at the street of people barely noticing the glass trickle down onto the sidewalk next to them.
I heard footsteps from behind and looked back. The door barged open and there behind me was the infamous James Adams. Vampire hunter.
"Stop this madness!" He hissed under his breath that was shallow from the long flight of stairs. He held with him a unique weapon designed for my destruction. Pity on the man. What fool would try to be catching a vampire?
I tilted my head as if to look confused at the man and gave him a gander at my dagger sharp teeth. The fangs something that would make bears twice as big as the man back away.
"Don't throw the garlic on me." I chuckled. His tense eyes meant mine and they seemed hard as rock.
"You don't want to do this. I'm going to hunt you until I kill you." He spat at me.
"Oh, but don't you see, James. This is where the fun begins." I took a step closer to the edge and he took a step towards me.
"Get away from there. You hear? If you come I'll help you." He said firmly.
Help? Help! Help me!
"What do you think you are so brave to come out and get the big bad vampire all by yourself that you should change me back from what I've become. There is no back from here." I said angrily.
"Don't kill more.." His voice trailed off as I fell backwards towards the ground twenty three stories below me.
He ran to the edge and looked down at my dead body falling. I only grinned.
He could have me dead seeing as that's the only way he'd get me, but not without a fight.
I marked my words that if James Adams wanted a duel he'd have to come bearing more than mythical promises, to a mythical creature.
