Breaking Through the Storm [Toshiro Hitsugaya] Ch 21

Short recap: The rescue party all came to the end of the corridor and found that there were six pathways at the end, but there were seven of them. They decided in they would all take a different path and two people would pair up. Sayuri and Toshiro went together.

The seven rescuers went in their chosen paths. None of them knew where they would end up, but they were prepared for battles ahead. After all they were in Aizen's head quarters, and God knows who he would send after them.

Sayuri and Toshiro set down their own path. They ran at first, but running down the endless corridor was getting a little tiring. So they slowed down to take a short break.

"How come Matsumoto didn't come with you, Toshiro?" Sayuri said.

"She wanted to, but I wouldn't let her." Sayuri arched an eyebrow. "I was already disobeying orders, and I didn't want her to get in trouble either." She frowned.

"Why would you do that? You barely know Orihime. Plus won't you get in a lot of trouble? That's probably the stupidest thing you've ever done," she scolded him.

"I'll be just fine when I get back. Besides I owe Inoue for healing me. And like I told you earlier, you'd die if I weren't here." Toshiro's trademark scowl appeared on his face.

"I'd be just fine without you."

"Would not."

"Would too."

"Would not."

"Would too."

"Would too."

"Would not." Toshiro laughed at Sayuri's slip-up as she pouted quietly. "Jerk," she mumbled.

"Let's get to moving. We'll never get there if we keep at this pace," he said. Sayuri nodded, and they began to run again.

"Is it just me or is this hallway getting a little bigger?" Sayuri said.

"Looks that way," Toshiro said. Soon enough the hallway opened up into an even bigger room. It was circular, and on the walls were doors on about twelve different levels. They looked up to see a ceiling that had arches like the hallway. They heard footsteps.

"So I take it you two are the intruders that have been wandering around?" a girl said from up above. Sayuri and Toshiro looked up to their left to see an Arrancar staring down at them. She had mid-length, purple hair and deep blue eyes. She had a very large chest (almost like Orihime's), and her uniform showed off her figure quite well. Her mask was along her left jaw and up the side of her face all the way to her eyebrow. She jumped down to the ground level and landed gracefully. The girl walked closer to Toshiro and Sayuri. She circled them then stopped in front of Toshiro.

"Hi there, handsome. What's your name?" She put her arm on Toshiro's shoulder. He tensed not only because of the Arrancar's touch. Sayuri was letting off an electric charge that made his arm burn a little.

"It's impolite to ask someone's name before you give your own," he said. The girl took her hand off his shoulder and backed up to look at the both of them.

"I'm Kira! Akuma Kira, Ulquiorra-sama's fracción," she said. [1] Kira took another look at Toshiro. "Too bad I have to fight you... You're pretty hot. And a captain at that!" The electric charge that Sayuri had been letting off suddenly flared. It wasn't a whole lot, but enough to send a miniature shockwave at Toshiro's arm.

"Ouch! Watch what you're doing!" he said.

"I can't help that she pisses me off!" she spat back.

"Are you two finished? I'd like to get this over with... I suppose I'll start with the girl. I'd rather save him for last." She gestured at Toshiro. "By the way, I never got your names."

"Hitsugaya Toshiro, Captain of the 10th division."

"Kurosaki Sayuri, Shinigami Representative."

"Well, Sayu-chan, Hitsu-kun... I hope you're ready." The smirk on Kira's face was replaced with a serious look. She unsheathed her zanpakuto and looked at the two Shinigami grimly.

Ichigo was running down his path when he heard a voice calling his name.

"Ichigo!!!" Nel cried as she called his name. He turned around and did a double take.

"N-Nel?! What are you doing here?! I thought I told you to leave?" he said.

"I wanted to see yous Ichigooo!"

"No! Go home!" She kept running. "Damn... Alright, come on then! Catch and release!" he said, ready to throw her back where she came from.

"Extreme acceleration!" Nel suddenly jumped and head butted Ichigo at high speed. He fell back into the wall. He grunted.

"Get off of me, you little-"

"I wanted to see yous, Ichigo! I wanted to see yous!" Nel cried as she clung to him. Ichigo sighed.

"Just great... I guess it can't be helped now. Where's the other two?"

"Yous mean Dondochakka and Pesche? They is right behind..." she looked behind her. "They's not there! They's lost childrens! Dondochakka and Pesche have become lost childrenses!"

"No, actually you're a lost child..." They finally came to a room at the end of the hall. "About time for a change of scenery." Just then Ichigo felt a strong reiatsu.

"Ichigo? What's wrong...?"

"Quiet, Nel! Come out! Show yourself!" No one came out. "I said show yourself!" Then one of the columns broke up above them. Someone crashed on the ground in front of them. Ichigo deadpanned at the sight before them. The cloud of dust started to clear so they could barely see a figure.

"Are you ok?" Ichigo said. The person coughed a little, and when the dust cleared he did some weird pose. Before Ichigo and Nel stood an Arrancar with black hair, a mustache, sideburns, a typical white Arrancar uniform, and he had a red sash tied around his waist. His mask was like a visor across his forehead with small horns and his hair kind of shaped with it. They both stood there unimpressed.

"Wait a minute! What's with that reaction?! You just witnessed Dordonii-sama's grand entrance!"

"You call that grand? You just crashed to the floor," Ichigo said satirically.

"Why are you pretending to be calm?!"

"I'm not pretending. I am calm."

"And little one over there!" he pointed to Nel. "At least make eye contact with me!" Nel was staring off into space like she couldn't hear a thing. "Hmph. Fine. I guess our style is just too different. But that doesn't matter; I will soon dispose of you. Now prepare yourself, boy! For I, Arrancar number 103! The Great Dordonii-sama! Will crush you here!!"

"103...? That's a pretty big number," Ichigo said.

"No kiddin'," Nel agreed.

"Weren't you saying the ones with numbers had to be two digits?" Ichigo asked her.

"Yep. It should be two digits. I've never heard of three..."

"Hey! Quit ignoring me!" Dordonii -err Dordonii-sama said. "And what's with that look of pity?!"

"Well, you seem kinda weak," Ichigo said.

"Weak?! Why don't you decide for yourself how 'weak' I am. But don't come crying to me when you get hurt!" Suddenly Dordonii came and nearly kicked Ichigo's head. He didn't even see him coming.

"Ichigo!!!" Nel called.

"Don't underestimate your opponent, boy," Dordonii said. "I'm a Privaron Espada just so you know."

"What?"

"Privaron Espada; Arrancar with three digits; we are the fallen Espada. In other words, we were all Espada stripped of our titles."

Renji started down the long corridor. He was just noting how everything looked the same when he heard a very loud voice.

"NELLL!!!!"

"Eh?" He looked behind him to see Dondochakka running at him at full speed. "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?!"

"I'm looking for Nel, don'tcha know! Neeelll!!!" Dondochakka cried.

"Then why the hell are you with me?! Do I LOOK like her?" Renji said. "Wait a minute, are you lost?"

"Where's Nel, yo!"

"You are lost... No wonder you're here."

"Nel went chasing after Ichigo, " Dondochakka said. "It's gonna be bad if we don't do somethin' quick don'tcha know!" He started to cry.

"Look, she's safer with Ichigo than with you and me. So don't cry! It's scary," Renji said.

"You're wrong. If we don't find Nel soon... if we don't find Nel and stop her... Nel will..." he trailed off. The two broke out into a run. Actually Dondochakka started running with Renji in his path. "And why are you running?!"

"Because you're chasing me! Plus your face sort of scares me."

"Stop, yo!! There's something I wanna tell you!"

"You stop first! And didn't you wanna save that Nel kid?! Turn back!"

"AHBAHBAHBAHBAHBAHBAHBAHBAAAAAH!!!!" Dondochakka made some weird crying noise as he started running faster down the path putting Renji over his shoulder. Then he stopped and held Renji upside down. "W-why am I doing this?"

"That's my line you moron!" Renji said. "You said something like 'I sense Nel's reiatsu, don'tcha know!' I thought you got excited, but then you threw me over your shoulder and took off at 90 miles per hour!" He turned Renji right side up.

"B-but I felt Nel's reiatsu and got totally excited, don'tcha know!"

"That's what I just said!" A vein pulsed on Renji's forehead.

"I can't help it!"

" 'I can't help it' my ass! Stand me up! We're looking for that brat, Nel, right?!"

"That hurts, don'tcha know? Please don't kick me..." he cried.

"It hurt me more, you know!" Renji said. Dondochakka gasped. "What now?"

"I just realized! Pesche isn't here!"

"You mean that bony guy? He hasn't been here from the start," Renji said nonchalantly.

"From the start?! You mean his living with us was just an illusion?!" Dondochakka panicked.

"Not that beginning! You idiot..."

Uryu's journey was much like the others'. A long hallway that looked pretty much the same. He hadn't run into any danger yet, but he was anticipating it. Then, like Renji and Ichigo, he heard a voice.

"Nel! Nel! Where did you go?! You can't run off like that!!" Uryu stopped and turned around. Pesche was running toward him. "Have you seen Nel?" he asked Uryu.

"Nope. She's not here. Why?" Uryu said.

"Nel disappeared when everyone left, and we can't find her!"

"Maybe we can find her if we keep down this path. Come with me," he said.

"No time to waste! We have to find Nel!" Pesche took off before Uryu could say anything else.

"Hey! Wait for me!" he called.

Pesche and Uryu ran down the long corridor for what seemed like hours.

'We'll never reach Inoue if this keeps up,' Uryu thought. Like the others, they came upon an open room. Except this one was full of pillars. They couldn't see a way out, but they weaved their way around the pillars to try and get to the other side of the room. Then they heard a laugh.

"Well, well. A Quincy and a Hollow. You never would have thought of such a pairing," a woman's voice filled the room. Uryu looked around to try to find the source of the voice. "Over here!" she said from his right. He looked over to a bunch of pillars to find her. "Too late!" she said from behind. He looked behind him. "Wrong!" the girl said from his right. They finally got a good look at her. Her uniform was the standard white, but it was a shorter dress with short sleeve that had a black fringe on them. Her hair was purple and in zigzag pigtails, and her eyes were a shade of purple as well. She wore long white gloves with the fingers cut off and purple at the end closer to her sleeves. There were teardrop markings on each of her cheeks. She held what looked like a whip with a zanpakuto hilt. It was sort of like a yo-yo, only more like a blade.

Suddenly the girl started swinging the whip at Uryu and Pesche. Pillars were cut in half, causing them to nearly fall on them. Uryu and Pesche weaved between the pillars for quite a long time.

"Hahahahahaha!!!" she laughed

"Damn you," Uryu said.

"There's no point hiding! How many times have I told you now? You can't run from Cirucci-" Uryu attacked her while she was talking. "Seriously. Could you please NOT attack me in the middle of my lines? I wonder if all human boys are like you." She threw her weapon where Uryu was hiding. "Don't run, Mr. Weird Clothes!"

"Like you can talk!" Uryu said. She swung her zanpakuto at him again, and he blocked it with his newly developed bow. It looked like a spider web that was made out of reishii. Unfortunately he still got hit.

"That's not a shield, you know. Don't overdo it over there," she said.

"Damn..." He held his shoulder and looked at the blood on his hand.

Sayuri: oh God. this is gonna be a disaster

K: first it was between "I Hate Everything About You" and "Hanging By a Moment"

Sayuri: I hope it's neither

K: WRONG!

Sayuri: *bangs head against wall*

K: don't do that, Sayu-chan. I don't want you dieing before you almost die again.

Reader: that makes a lot of sense -_-;

K: uhuh ^-^

Sayuri: *glares at Kai* so Kai... what's this I hear about a new story?

K: oh? my Ichigo story?

Sayuri: yeah that one. does this mean you're abandoning me? *eyes start to water*

K: no no no! I could never abandon my little Sayu-chan! =(

Sayuri: forget I ever said that...
