Why is it, that people think that just because something is used, it's second class, or junk. Mainly, because we been sold to and marketed to for years and generations. We are a consumer based, over consumption, debt ridden, and depressed population. We think that buying more and more stuff will make us happier, sexier, more attractive, smoother talking, and all around just better people. We need to stop it, and we need to stop it now.
And why not start our new non-buying habit, with our compulsive urge to get new games for our Nintendo Wii. Let's start by shopping around online for some used Wii games.The first place everyone will likely look, is eBay. And, that's a darn good choice. Proably every Wii, PS3, PS2, PC, Gameboy, Xbox, PSP, DS, and DSi game you've ever played or wanted to play, is for sale on there. Pick a few used deals, and start buying.
Make sure, your getting used Wii games. The one thing, that some people forget about eBay, is that it's not just used stuff for sale. There is plenty of regular stores selling brand new products. What were looking to do here, is find people just like us, and buy their games. Buying brand new games from a store online, is no different than buying from a sore at the mall.
What were trying to do here, is to buy used, and cut down on the amount of product the manufacturers have to create. Now, the best part here is, that once we've gotten tired of playing whatever games we purchased, it's now our turn to sell those games on eBay.
I'm sure you can start to see how this buying and selling of used games over and over can benefit the planet and ourselves. We start reusing items, instead of buying newly built stuff all the time. Plus, when we sell those same used games, we get some, all, or a little more of our money back. At thise rate, the games just keep getting passed around like they were in a library.
Now this will of course work with a lot of items we consume that have a indefinite shelf life. Movies, books, gadgets, old furniture, whatever. It's a great way of using new technology, to solve an old problem. So, remember, there's something cool about used stuff, it's better for all of us.used
