[01] You're My Adrenaline Rush [David Archuleta]

Eh...I got bored. And was inspired by David's new song "Touch My Hand". Not really sure how many fans or fan-fictions he's got out there. Thought I'd try my hand at one. BTW, this is slightly in the future so bear with me. This makes it easier to make my own suppositions without actually going against anything that has happened. So, don't like it, don't read it. Simple as that.

Note To Readers: Read the memo. More specifically the last few sentences, please. Thank you. Hope you enjoy!

"What was that?! That performance was absolute ****, David. We talked about you blowing them away, giving the performance of your life and you go and do THIS."

She stood outside of the dressing room door after his concert, nervously biting her fingernails and sighed, moving to play with the bangles on her wrists while listening to the conversation behind the door. Smiling weakly, at the curious glances of people passing, Camille Vaughn worriedly stood there, leaning against the wall while quietly humming to herself....waiting.

Jerking her head around at the crashes and yelling from the room, Camille jumped as the door slammed open and Mr. Archuleta stormed out in a string of profanities down the corridor.

Camille pursed her lips, watching the older man disappear, and then turned her attention on the boy standing stock still in the middle of the dressing room. She rushed in, her bright yellow sundress whispering behind her as she pulled the stoic boy into her embrace.

He stood motionless for a few minutes before wrapping his arms around her small frame and burying his face in her curly auburn hair.

"I'm so sorry, David," she whispered into his jacket.

She felt him shudder in her arms and her breath caught.

Pulling back, she peered up into his face and bit her bottom lip at the sight. His eyes were glassed over, fighting to keep from letting the tears spill. She ran a delicate finger over the reddening mark on his cheek and almost instantly buried her face back in his chest once more.

"Oh, David..."

Memories filled her mind of times when their roles had been switched. He had always been the one comforting her, telling her everything would be alright. They had grownup as kids together and knew every little quirk and pet peeve.

Camille pulled back again and moved to push the smallish strands of hair from his eyes. Oh, how he'd changed since those AI days.

"David, please. Tell someone. You have to. Please, you can't..." she trailed off, glancing down between them, her voice hitching.

Soon, his strong hands wrapped around each of her tiny wrists to bring them up between the two. Her gaze instantly met his as he brought one hand to his lips and kissed her knuckles. She couldn't help but notice the dry eyes and warm smile that replaced the saddened and helpless one from moments before.

"Cami, I'm fine," he said, smiling and stepping back from her. "Look. See?" David turned around once and then rejoined her. "All in one piece," he whispered, leaning his forehead on hers.

Camille lightly bit her bottom lip before sighing.

"I just...David, I just...," she attempted, while fingering the buttons on his shirt. Pulling away, Camille glided a few paces before turning on him.

"You're 19. You don't have to deal with this. You can live your own life. Apart from him. Apart from...," she sucked in a breath and turned to cross the room.

David reached out and hooked her arm, pulling her back into his embrace. He smiled into her auburn hair and said, "I can't live apart from him, Cam."

He pulled her back from him to look her in the eyes. "As many problems as he causes...I still love him. And he's myfather." He met her sapphire gaze and said, "Surely, you can understand that."

David knew he was playing unfairly. Camille would give anything to know who her parents were, what they were like. But alas, the girl had no clue. They had died two years after her birth and David had to watch Camille be handed from foster home to foster home until she turned 18.

He watched her eyes dart about the room as she inwardly fought with herself. She finally closed her eyes and nodded defeatedly before he pulled her into another embrace.

"I'm sorry, Cam. I really am..." he whispered, placing a kiss on top of her head

Camille wrapped her arms around his torso and squeezed him in a hug, burying her face in his shirt and breathing in his familiar scent.

She pulled back and attempted a smile up at him.

"I know. I just...i don't like seeing you hurt, David. i can't stand it. It was hard when we were little but...now..."

She glanced up at him in a blush and playfully hit him at the sight of his devilish grin.

"Alright, Mr. Archuleta. Grin all you want," she teased, "but what's gonna happen you don't have any covers tonight at the hotel?"

She poked him in his chest, smiling and laughing, as he said, "You wouldn't dare."

Camille laughed and bounced a few paces back, sticking her tongue out at him. David grinned, his eyes alight in happiness, as he matched her backward steps with forward steps of his own.

"Now, what would the magazines do with that? I can just see the headlines now.Archie's Girlfriend Undeserving of his Awesomeness. And, of course, the following article would be all about the things you constantly do to me culminating in the ultimate taking of my covers."

"You're so full of yourself, Mr. Archuleta," she giggled, running from his grasp, the bright yellow fabric of her dress billowing behind her.

After a few minutes of David trying to get a hold of his girlfriend who was running around the room, she finally had her cornered.

"Can't get away now, darling..." he grinned, happily.

Camille pursed her lips in thought, watching as he approached. She soon decided to make a run for it but David caught her by the stomach, bringing them both tumbling to the ground, Camille underneath.

Fits of laughter proceeded to fill the room as the couple basked in the happiness. Laughter subsiding though, they peered into each others eyes for moments that felt like hours to both.

David finally leaned in brought his lips to hers, melding them in a sweet kiss. Camille's eyes closed in quiet bliss as she slowly brought her arms around his neck to pull him closer. Passion flowed through their veins as the kiss grew to more. Tongues fought for control as skin met skin and...

"Mijo! It's time for the 'Meet and Gre...oh!"

David lifted his head from the kiss to watch his mother turn five shades of pink. Her eyes grew and she backed out the room while saying, "Meet and Greet, David. In five, please."

He chuckled and sighed, leaning his forehead on Camille's and placing a small kiss upon her lips before saying, "I suppose I should go."

Camille playfully pouted and replied with, "But I want you here!"

He rolled his eyes and kissed her again, feeling the pressure of her arms pulling him closer. "Camille...," he groaned and pulled back. "I have to go."

She giggled and bit her bottom lip, staring up at him innocently. Groaning again, David complained, "Don't do that. You're doing that on purpose. Quit it."

Camille laughed and pushed the boy off of her, standing up and brushing off her dress before smiling down at him watching her from the floor still.

"What?" she questioned.

David smiled and stood up beside her before kissing her again and replying.

"I'm just trying to figure out why I didn't ask you out before now," he stated, laughing at the blush that crept onto her face.

Grabbing her hand in his, he brought her knuckles to his lips and, after kissing them, whispered, "Come on. I believe I have a Meet and Greet to get to."

Camille smiled slowly and happily followed him out the door to his adoring fans, knowing they couldn't match how big of a fan she happened to be.
