Tears of the Fallen Angel (4) Solitary Light

So shoot me...

Created by camalaya on Saturday, March 04, 2006

You woke in a solitary circle of light. Everything around you was unfathomable darkness. All around you there were the soft noises of things creeping. The soft whisper of cloaks trailing on the floor, the light cadence of breathing, the soft tapping of boots. Not afraid, yet not comfortable, you followed the sounds in your mind desperately, to know where your intimidators were. The noises started slowly, inexorably coming toward you. Shinking back from your hidden companion, you shuddered in fear as it entered the circle of light, betraying it to have the semblance of a man, yet its face was still shrouded in darkness.
(Sarcasticly now everyone) eek!
"Do not fear me child, I am not your enemy." Said the hidden face.
You could hear a friendly cadence in the voice, and involuntarily you began to relax, and you stopped trying to crunch yourself as close to the edge of the circle of light yet not be in the darkness at all. You looked up once more at the face to see it shrouded in darkness no longer. He (you could tell it was a man now) was smiling at you, in a fatherly way. His eyes were intelligent and blue, like the sky at twilight. They crinkled up at the sides from years of laughter. He had a full red beard and red hair to his shoulders. You knew at once that you could trust him, that no man like this could harm anything.
Sounds like a pretty nice guy.
"You have to stay here. If you leave, you will be in great danger. There are people out there the world has never heard of, and they want to hurt you." He said. "I am Theorin. I, we, can help keep you safe."
The darkness evaporated as the rest of the room lit up. It was the same room you had been in before, and again you noticed it's stunning beauty. You looked up and saw the man who had named you a queen. He looked at you, and smiled.
"You are back, my queen, and hopefully this time you will stay with us for awhile. Thonu, Elaen, take her to her room and help her get ready."
You found yourself being escorted by a man and a woman through winding marble hallways. Neither of them said anything, but when you looked at them they smiled. They guided you to a doorway and led you in. It was a beautiful bedroom, with a midnight blue theme. You were glad, the bright white was starting to hurt your eyes. You sat down on the canopy bed in the middle of the room and played with the drapery while Thonu and Elaen rushed about your room, looking for something.
Ooooh, drapery!
Elaen came up to you, holding a beautiful blue gown.
"Put this on." She said simply, and held it out to you. You looked nervously at the man in the corner. He was staring at you, creepily. You shivered a little and turned to Elaen.
"Does he have to watch?" You said carefully, trying not to offend him.
"No of course not. Jareth, would you stand outside the door?"
Jareth nodded and walked past you. When he reached the door, he looked back, smiled, winked, and went outside closing the door after him. I may never understand these people. You thought to yourself as you put on the dress. Turning around you found yourself looking at yourself in a mirror. You looked different. You looked... beautiful. No, that can't be me, you thought as you looked in the mirror. But there you were!
"You look beautiful. Fit for our king." Elaen said, looking you over.
