I didn't sleep. I couldn't. Not without Neji here, not without knowing if he was ok. And with the invasion on my mind. God, I had work to do. A lot.
I woke up and saw Naruto and Lee sitting on the floor, whispering. I had fallen asleep in my chair. Naruto looked at me and smiled. "Hey, Aneko-chan. Morning!" I smiled slightly and rubbed my eyes.
"Hey," I mumbled. "Is Miki *yawn* up yet?"
"Yeah, she is taking a bath," Lee answered. I looked at them.
"Who ran it for her?"
"I did," Lee answered once again.
"Oh, thanks," I said and stood up.
"I gotta get going. I'm meeting Sakura-chan and Kakashi-sensei at the training grounds," Naruto said, standing up. I nodded.
"Bye, Naruto." He hugged me tightly.
"I'm really sorry, Aneko-chan," he whispered in my ear. I nodded.
"It's ok," I said. Even though I felt horrible on the inside. He let go of me and ran out of the house, yelling for Sakura to wait. I laughed slightly and walked to the living room with Lee. I smiled at him. "Thank you, Lee. A lot."
"No problem, Aneko-chan." He looked down. "Aneko..." I nodded at him. He seemed uneasy. "Neji, um... I..."
"I feel him too," I whispered. He looked at me with sad eyes.
"Yeah. Do you think...they let him live?" he whispered.
"We'll see," I muttered. I hugged him goodbye and he left. Then, I noticed Miki came out, wrapped in a towel.
"Big Sister, Miki wanna go to park!" she exclaimed. I nodded and helped her get dressed.
I called a babysitter. She took Miki to the park.
I sighed and went to my dresser. I picked the hat and robe out and looked in the mirror, seeing now my eyes were dark, dark red. "I thought I would never have to wear this..." How wrong I was.
Neji's POV
They let me go. I had no idea why or if they planned a different date or whatever. But they let me go.
But as soon as I stepped out of the prison, two anbu showed up. "Report to the main gate. There's people coming to invade. All Hyuugas are to go, even you." I nodded and ran to the main gate. I looked over the crowd of family, and saw a huge force coming. The rain village...Aneko's home village.
We heard a loud whistle.
Suddenly, fifteen ninjas appeared in front of them, stopping their stalk. In the middle, appeared a figure with a kage robe and hat. They all had hidden rain headbands. I didn't get this.
"Get out of our way," said the head of the rain village(No, not Pein. He's not here.)
"No! We won't let you destroy a village with no purpose!" yelled one of the ninja, a jounin. There were three jounin, one anbu, and 11 gennin. Not enough to take on this crowd.
"Get out of our way, weaklings." The anbu let out a harsh laugh.
"Yeah, you say we're the weaklings? You don't know what our standards are," he said.
"You're precious leader gave me the reports. I know your exact strengths," the head said again. The anbu was just about to attack with a Katana, but the mystery person grabbed his arm and shook his or her head.
"You didn't really tell them our real strengths, did you?" one gennin asked the kage person. He or she glanced at him and shook his or her head no.
"Look, Kage-sama, I'm not gonna sit around all day! So tell us what to do or I'm gonna chose for you!" another gennin yelled, kind of like Naruto. The kage looked at him. I saw dark red eyes, but nothing else. He or she said something, but a whisper. I couldn't hear, so I pushed closer to them.
However, the head of teh village thought this was a good time to attack. He ran at the kage, and sliced at his or her head. He/She ducked, but his/her hat was cut in half, falling off his or her head. I saw long hair fall out. Her hair. It was Aneko. But...the last time I saw her, she had pink eyes. But then again...everytime I saw her, her eye color would be different.
Aneko faced the head, almost nose to nose. She had no emotion on her face whatsoever. "Stay put," Aneko told them sternly.
"Aneko...hmmm, your eyes are dark red." He smirked. "You know what that means, don't you?" She closed her eyes momentarily.
"Yes."
"It's almost time," he said, cupping her cheek. She slapped it away. His face hardened. "You know I could kill you now, right?"
"You hurt Kage-sama, I'll personally hunt you down and rip your throat out!" yelled the loud gennin, the one like Naruto.
Tsunade walked up to Aneko, Aneko's ninjas backing away for her.
"Shut up, child," growled the Rain Village guy.
"Akio, don't talk to the boy like that," Aneko said calmly. "He's only standing up for me."
"Don't you talk to me like that," he growled at her. I clenched my fists. Tsunade gathered chakra in her fist and hit Akio. But he caught it.
"Now, now. You don't want to get too hasty," Akio said. His eyes went wide and he froze. I looked down at his side and saw Aneko's fist right through his flesh. She glared at him with her dark eyes.
"I told you not to attack this village," she growled loudly. Akio let go of Tsunade and turned to Aneko.
"You think we would listen to a rat like you?" he asked. They started a taijutsu battle, Aneko's weakness.
After two minutes, they both froze. Akio was smirking, having two fingers on her forehead. Her eyes were wide, and afraid. It was the first time I've seen her this afraid. Everything was silent.
"Kage-sama!" screamed a little gennin girl.
"P-Please don't," Aneko whispered. Akio smirked wider.
"I'm sick of you. So why don't I take out the trash?" Everyone on his side screamed yes. Aneko was shaking slightly.
"Please. D-Don't," she whispered again.
"What's going on?" someone asked behind me.
"What are you going to do to her?" Tsunade asked. Akio glanced back and sighed.
"You've noticed her eye colors, haven't you?" Tsunade nodded. "Aneko, explain this." Aneko was shaking noticeably now.
"For three years, I've been under his curse, his control." Her stomach sank back, holding back a scream as Akio moved his fingers down slightly. "My eyes change shades. And when it gets to the end, it's time for him to take the colours out," she whispered.
"What do you mean? Take the colours out?"
"Why don't I just show you?" Akio asked, his smirk becoming wide. Aneko gulped as his fingers went back up to her forehead. In an instant, the tips began glowing. I stepped foward.
"Why don't we attack?" asked one of the people behind me.
"Tsunade-sama hasn't given the signal."
I bit my lip. What was Akio gonna do to her?
