Everything I'm Not (Shugo Chara [Ikuto/Nagihiko]16)
"I always trust you Kanae-chan." With that your heart jumped in glee making Remi respond with a giggle of enjoyment. "Remi! Character Transform! Melodic Trance!"
While Damien wasoff guard from Nagihiko's disruption, Kukai and Tadase ran towards the teen, Kukai towards Damien's left and Tadase towards Damien's right.
Cooling reaching into his back pocket and pulled out a twin hand gun. With that two shots rang in the air.
"Kukai!"
"Tadase!"
"Tch, the five of you are becoming bothersome, it's about time I take my leave, but don't worry I've got a few hundred friends right here, who will be more than willing to play with the three of you."

You sighed in content, playing with the black mask that your mother had given you earlier that day. You were kind of lost in thought, everything had just happened so fast. You were going to have the night of your life with the boy who has your heart, and here you are on the balcony, lead here by a teen who you don’t even know.
What’s going on with me…?
“So this is where you’ve been hiding, Kanae-chan?” You heard Ikuto’s voice from above. Looking above, you fond Ikuto hanging upside down from the roof above you in his character change. He gracefully dropped from the roof and landed upon his feet on the railing in front of you.
“I wondered where you went, especially when I didn’t see you with your little friends.” He said, giving his tail a light sway.
“I c-came out here for s-some, uh- hm fresh air…I g-guess.”
THUMP
THUMP!
You could hear your heart thump in your chest as he looked down on you with that smirk of his. You flushed lightly, averting your eyes away from him.
“Your friends inside…are in trouble.” You turned to him, looking straight into his violet pools, and found no trace of lies.
“H-how do you know that?...I can’t h-hear anything…” You retreated from the older boy, your body language screaming uneasiness.
He jumped over your head, landing behind you. He then instantly fell backwards, while slipping his arms around your waist; taking you down with him.
“W-Waahhh!”
You landed sitting on his lap, his head resting upon your shoulder, and arms cradling you as if shielding you from harm.
“For a girl who has a musical Chara, you can’t even feel the vibrations through the floor.” With that said, he took your hand in his, and placed it upon the floor. You could feel it; the heavy vibrations through the floor, why hadn’t you noticed before? That’s when you realized your mind was so clouded in thoughts over the Damien boy, you were numb to everything around you.
“Kanae-chan! I can feel X-eggs! Lots and lots of X-eggs!”
“Remi-chan…” You went to get up, but felt Ikuto’s arms restrain you from doing so.
“If you go in there, it’ll just be you against hundreds of X-eggs, and your friends won’t be able to help you.” He whispered in your ear, nuzzling into your long hair. “Will you still go, even though your facing this?” You felt his grip tighten as if he was debating on weather to let you go or not.
“They’re m-my friends…I-I have t-to go.” You whispered back to him.
“Then promise me, you’ll stay away from that Damien boy…he’s no good.” With that he pushed you up off of him so you were standing. You spun around to catch his gaze one more time, when he threw something at you. You opened your hands and it landed perfectly in them. It was a key.
“You’ll need that to get in.” He said lying back onto the balcony, with his arms behind his head like a pillow.
“T-thank you…” With that you pushed the key into the door knob until you heard a click.
The sight that greeted you was one that you hadn’t expected. Hundreds upon hundreds of X-eggs flooded the area, their dark aura
overwhelming you.
You didn't know what to do. There were you friends, Amu, Yaya, and Nagihiko, defending against hundreds of X-eggs and X characters. Behind them were Tadase and Kukai out cold.
What happened when you were gone?!
The door behind you slammed shut, locking you in. The dark aura crept around you until it engulfed you in its grasp. You felt your self becoming constricted as the heavy air bombarded you on all sides.
"Kyahhh!"
Your attention jolted towards the guardians. From what you could see they were completely defenseless, with their Guardian Chara’s no where to be found. But what scared you the most was the giant monster that began to take form.
Your eyes widened as the X-characters joined together to create on giant X-character. It was big enough to tower over all of you, just being short of the ceiling.
“Useless!” It cried as it swung down its arm and unleashed a dark storm upon your friends. They cold do nothing but huddle together and take shelter with each other.
It swung again
and again
and again.
"Ahhhhh!!!" You could hear your friends screaming in fright as debris began to scatter around them. You could hear it roar, like the sound of so many people crying out in anguish. Like their sadness speaking out, reaching out to you. Your ears rang from the sudden out burst. The sudden constriction upon your heart became worse as you gasped in shock.
"Nae-chan! Don't let it get to you! Nae-chan!" You could hear Remi's voice call out to you, but it was hard to heed her warning.
You gripped your chest, as your reason feigned. Suddenly you didn't care about what was happening around you. You heart was becoming constricted and it became hard to breathe. You sunk to your knees, your hair flailing around you as you gasped for breath.
Wha- What's going on with me....
"Kanae-chan! Watch out!" You heard a voice cry. Suddenly you were scooped up into someones arms just as the giant X-character crashed down upon you. The person shielded you with their body until the attack was over. You peered up from the persons chest to find-
"N-Nagihiko-kun?...Nagihiko-kun!" He smiled weakly down to you before falling backward. You caught him just before he hit the floor.
"Why...Why..."
"You were always so vulnerable to sadness ha-ha..." He chuckled. You couldn't help but smile with him. He was strong, especially if he could laugh in a situation like this. Your worry began to melt away from your body as he gave you some assurement.
"Where are the Guardian Chara's?" You asked picking him up and supporting him upon your shoulder. You could see him noticeably wince as he pointed to the largest chandelier above, right behind the army of X-eggs and giant X-character.
"The guy stole them, and he hung them up there. They’re stuck in their eggs and can’t come out." You nodded, trying to formulate a plan of action in your mind.
"Nae-chan, we're the only one who can transform. We have to protect everybody!" Remi cried, avoiding the attack of a few X-eggs. You nodded and braced yourself.
"You're going to have to trust me right now Nagihiko-kun..." He nodded and you both took off running righ towards the giant X-character, with Remi by your side.
"I always trust you Kanae-chan." With that your heart jumped in glee making Remi respond with a giggle of enjoyment.
"Remi! Character Transform! Melodic Trance!"

Authors note: Wow two updates in a month, I'm getting slightly busy now with a few projects and I probably wont update in the next month. (sorry)
But I hope this chapter with wet your appitite for the next chapter coming up. Chapter 17 will be the last chapter of the "masquerade ball" arc. That is where the battle between Kanae and the X-eggs will ensue. Finally the director of Easter and Kanae's mother will be able to fully understand the power that Kanae holds!
