"Are you going to cry again?" Landon asked, panicked. I laughed. "I will if you go."

"Please don't. I don't know how to deal with tears."

"You're saying that as if you haven't cried before this."

"That's ridiculous," he said, giving me a small laugh.

"Miss, you're not allowed in here at the moment..." a nurse said when she walked into the room. "But I want her to stay," Landon interjected. I looked at him, and my heart fluttered when he looked back towards me warmly.

"That's okay, I'll leave," I said, nodding towards the nurse and mouthing a 'sorry' at Landon. I got up and walked out of the room.

"Is he going to be fine?" Chris asked. I didn't know what to say to her when she ask such a question. But she's 14 years old. She's got a very intelligent mind, just like her brother, I'm sure. "I don't really know. There are a couple of nurses in his room."

Chris nodded and yawned.

"Chris, it's getting late," I said when I noticed the big silver clock that was hung on the wall. "Are you tired? I'll send you to our apartment," I said.

Our. Right, it's all over is it? I didn't know if Chris have a place to live or exactly where she live before this, but I'm sure she wants to move in judging by her eager eyes. But the eagerness suddenly disappeared when it came to her realization that her brother may be dying under her nose.

"Thanks, but I'll think I'll stay here for a couple more hours."

"Okay," I answered. Chris made herself comfortable on the seats...however that's possible.

My dad found a friend of his in the canteen. Two coffees were in his hands, and despite what's going on, I laughed.

"Oh dear, I'm sorry, I lost track of time," my dad said. I nodded. "This is one of my colleagues, Mr. McKinnon."

"Nice to meet you," I said politely, smiling.

"Here's your coffee."

And just like that he push the styrofoam cup to me, as if saying that the both of them are in the middle of a very important conversation that I wouldn't understand anyway so I should get lost.

So, get lost I shall.

"Ah, Miss Larson, please come in. I'm Dr. John D. Winslow, Mr. Henderson's doctor," the doctor said as soon as I stepped in front of Landon's room, still carrying the cup of now lukewarm coffee.

"Judging by the record, Mr Henderson, it seems like you have been shot."

I spluttered on my coffee slightly and Landon stared at Dr. Winslow oddly. That's pretty obvious.

"One bullet wound on your shoulder, and another one on your side. You're very lucky that we have enough B positive blood supplies, or else you would have died!" Dr. Winslow added, laughing. Landon was still staring at the doctor weirdly, and I couldn't blame him.

I did the same too.

"Are you sure you are a doctor?" I muttered, shaking my head and bringing the cup to my lips. I was so thirsty.

"Of course I am!" Dr. Winslow said, laughing. "Don't you see I have a shiny stethoscope and a clipboard?"

When the doctor's beeper beeped annoyingly, he excused himself giddily and practically skipped out of the room.

"Get me a new doctor, now!"

"I'm on it," I said, internally fighting my need to laugh.

-------------------------------------------------------------

When Landon got discharged out a day early, I dare say I shamelessly cling to him 24/7. He didn't really mind by the attention though.

Chris did the same.

So did Ginger.

And it freak me out when a guy name Caleb did the same thing too.

In which Landon respond by rolling a magazine and smacking Caleb's head with it.

He explained to me about everything truthfully now. It turns out that he was an assassin. Ginger, Caleb and Jake was among the few too. But once Christian had passed away, everyone went their own separate way and disappeared just like that.

It started to rain a lot, and my plants on the balcony was all dead. The kitchen was totally destroyed beyond of my wildest nightmare. So Landon decided to revamp the whole kitchen with his own money. For the next week, every morning I wake up because the sound of people hammering and drilling outside were just too damn annoying.

But soon enough, all that chaos was over. He still couldn't do anything much since he can't even barely lift up his right hand without wincing or flinching from the pain.

"Oh, finally!" Landon exclaimed, throwing his arm around my shoulder and brought me close to him. "Things are quiet once again, everything's calm and cool...and Chris is asleep," he said.

"Then?" I asked.

"Don't you see how cool that is? We barely got any time for us," he said. I laughed, resting my head on his shoulder lightly in fear that I could hurt him. He ruffled my hair and kissed me on the top of my head lovingly.

"So what are we watching?" he asked when I grabbed the controller.

"Breakfast at Tiffany's," I said. "It's a classic, so shut up and appreciate it," I said, muching on a piece of chocolate. He rubbed his temple.

Gladly to say, we went through that movie without him complaining.

"Amy," he suddenly said. I looked at him sleepily. "Hmm?"

"Want to go to bed?" he asked. "Your place or mine?" I asked jokingly. He smirked.

"Anywhere. As long as I'm with you, I'll be a happy man."

I smiled when he gently pushed me down to the couch and kissed me. I'm glad. I'm glad that he answered my ad and became my roommate. And as long as he is happy, then I would be too.
