Rainbow Feelings (Prince of Tennis) [01: The Rainbow Appears]

[01: The Rainbow Appears]
Mai-chan: God, I made many mistakes in the Rain of Questions… (=.=) Why am I so irresponsible? *sigh* I didn’t even include the age…Najika-chan is 12-years-old, OK? So she’s a first year. (^_^) Najika-chan: Just like you, Mai-sama! (^o^) Mai-chan: *nod* Call me ‘Mai-chan’ starting from now. *pats Najika-chan’s head* Najika-chan: Hai! (^w^) Mai-chan: *thinks: what an idiot…*
[Start]
“Mou, mou, mou!” Najika cried, struggling to get herself ready for her first day. She searched for her bag, after a few (clumsy) moments—she tripped on her clothes; tripped on her own feet, and then tripped on her bag—she finally found her blue Kipling messenger bag. She sighed in relief, put on her shoes (she was already dressed in her uniform), and went to the living room, not bothering to eat. Her mother and father were already at work; her sister already left with her boyfriend, so she was all alone in her house (except for the maids and butlers of course).
The maids were used to Najika to not eat breakfast, so they didn’t bother to make her morning meal; of course, Najika’s parents approved of it. Najika ran outside to see a black limo parked in front of their gate. Najika frowned; she didn’t want to go outside in a limo, even if the school she’ll be going to is a private school.
“Aw. Jack-san!” Najika said, blushing. The window of the limo’s front seat slid down, revealing a smiling man in his twenties. Kumori Jack is the son of the Shizuka family’s close friend. “Didn’t I tell you to—”
“Not drive you to school in a limo, I know.” Jack said, still smiling his close-eyed smile. “How about I drive you halfway to your school?” He asked, aware of Najika’s hate to come to school in an expensive-looking car, or just car. Najika grinned and nodded, happy that Jack understands. “Now, get in.”
Najika got in the car, and Jack drove the car halfway to Hyotei Gakuen. “Do you know what class are you in, Najika?” Jack asked, not adding the ‘-sama’ suffix. Jack is the servant in the Shizuka household that is closest to Najika. Najika nodded with a grin. “That’s good, because you’ll be late if you don’t know your class.” Jack said, smirking.
Najika froze on what he said. “EH?!” She cried, getting out of the limo and dashing to her school. She could imagine Jack chuckling right now; she didn’t even know that she was already halfway to her school. “Mou, that Jack!” She muttered, smiling. After a few minutes of almost tripping and falling, she made it to her said school. Her eyes widened. “Wah…it’s so big!” She said, walking toward the school’s campus. Then suddenly she realized something, she did know her class but doesn’t know where it is. She sweatdropped and anime-cried, realizing her stupidity.
“Excuse me, are you new here?” A female, friendly voice asked behind her. Najika turned to the voice to see a beautiful blonde-haired girl. The girl was smiling friendlily at her, so she smiled back.
“Ah, yes.” Najika said, grinning widely. “I’m Shizuka Najika, a first year student.” Najika added. The blonde girl smiled wider and held Najika’s hand.
“I’m Hinamori Tsuyu; I’m also a first year student.” She said. “What class are you in?” She asked.
“Nice to meet you, Tsuyu-chan! And I’m in Class B, desu!” Najika said cheerfully.
“Yatta! We’re in the same class!” Tsuyu said. “Why don’t we go together?” She asked. Najika nodded vigorously and said: “Un!” Then Tsuyu suddenly dragged her to the classroom in a dash. Once they reached Class B, Najika’s head was bobbing left and right while stars circle her head.
“Tsuyu-chan, Najika stars see mii~” Najika said, her head still bobbing; ‘mii’ was a word that Najika uses at the end of her sentences. Tsuyu sweatdropped and apologized. “Daijoubu mii~” Najika said, flailing her arms, not dizzy anymore.
“Huh? Who’s that, Hinamori?” A boy in front of Najika and Tsuyu asked. The boy had black hair and blue eyes, like Najika’s, except that his were sharper. “A new girl?” He asked. Tsuyu nodded with a grin.
“She’s Shizuka Najika!” Tsuyu said and pulled Najika in front of her. “Isn’t she cute?!” Tsuyu asked with a kitty grin and pig blush on her face. The boy sweatdropped and nodded slowly.
Najika cocked her head to the side and asked: “Who are you mii~?”
“Nagahama Bow.” The boy said, nodding. Najika smiled widely.
“Bow mii~ what a nice name mii~” Najika said. Bow had a slight pink blush on his cheeks; he muttered an ‘Arigatou’. “Where can I sit mii~?” She asked.
“Hmm. You can sit beside me, Najika-chan!” Tsuyu said, dragging her to a seat beside her. “Good thing that Mogi-sensei didn’t put anyone beside me!” She added as Najika sat on the chair. “Oh yeah, have you heard of the tennis team here?” She asked, stars in her eyes. Najika looked at her, confused, while Bow sighed and slapped his forehead.
“I heard they’re really good mii~” Najika said, taking out her sketchbook and pencil. Her sketchbook contained various sketches of scenes and people, some pages contained stories, poems, and lyrics. “But I don’t know what they look like or know them personally mii~” She added with a grin while sketching her new friends.
Tsuyu gasped in surprise. “You should see them! They’re really good!” She said.
“You mean good-looking, right?” Bow asked, sitting on his chair.
“Wah~ so Tsuyu-chan is a fan-girl mii~?” Najika asked, not looking at them; her hands moving fluidly as she drew her new friends.
“Hee hee, yup!” Tsuyu said, blushing and scratching the back of her neck. “Do you mind that, Najika-chan? Many people think fan-girls are annoying...” She asked, looking down.
“Of course I don’t mind mii~” Najika said, her sketch finished in seconds. “You’re my first my friend here mii~” She said as she showed her sketch to Tsuyu, who gasped in awe. Bow’s eyes widened and blushed when he saw the sketch.
“Woah, you’re really talented, Najika.” Bow said. Najika put her hand on the back of her head, embarrassed. “Did you really draw that now?” He asked. Najika stuck her tongue out and nodded.
“Are you going to join the Art Club?” Tsuyu asked, browsing Najika’s other sketches. “Damn, you’re good…” She muttered. “You even write stories, poems, and lyrics…” She said.
Najika blushed, embarrassed and flattered. “Well…I don’t know.” She said. “Maybe…”
“Are you good at tennis?” Tsuyu asked, reading one of the lyrics Najika wrote. “Aw…this is sad…” She said, referring to the lyrics.
“Ah…a little…” Najika said. Her mother and father were big fans of tennis and taught her how to play, so she knows how to play at least, but she doesn’t know if she’s good or not. She also plays tennis occasionally with her father; she always beat him, so maybe she is good at it. But it wasn’t a hobby of her, she likes painting and sketching better…but maybe she might join the club to try something new…
“Then will you play a match with me later?” Tsuyu asked, looking at Najika with a smile. “I’m the vice-captain of the girls’ tennis club!” She said with pride.
“Wah, sugoi, Tsuyu-chan mii~” Najika said with a smile; Bow sighed in the background. “But I’m sure I’ll lose mii~…” Najika added.
“Don’t be so sure, Najika-chan!” Tsuyu said, grinning. “We won’t know until we try, right?” She asked optimistically. Najika grinned and nodded, and then she gasped, realizing something. “What is it, Najika-chan?” Tsuyu asked.
“I actually came in early this time.” Najika said with a grin, embarrassed. Both Tsuyu and Bow sweatdropped at what she said, but they all laughed after.
