[Day 22: Valentine Precision - Rock Lee]

VALENTINE PRECISION
"Come on, Lee. You can do it. Just concentrate." Maila was on the verge of crashing down onto the ground from the exhaustion and the heat.
"I'm trying my best!" He announced, sweat rolling down his face to prove his statement. Licking his lips gingerly, he locked eyes with the target fifteen feet away.
"Well, try harder," she replied, plopping onto her butt, deciding to watch Lee persistently aim and re-aim the kunai at the hand-made targets she had constructed earlier.
It was an unusually hot February day, so unlike the others which had pregnant clouds shielding the sun. And on this sickly hot Sunday, Lee decided to ask Maila to help him with his precision training. Yes, out of all the days. She mentally cursed her fate.
Sweat gathered on her forehead as pieces of hair clung to her chin and neck. She wanted to jump in a shower immediately and wash away every nasty substance that clung to her skin. But... Lee was no where near the promise they had made in the beginning: to accurately strike the targets one hundred and five times.
She had to admit his determination and dedication was admiring, but in this case, she just wanted to hurry home and indulge herself with something cold, like ice cream. Her mouth began to water as she thought of all the possibilities.
"Ugggggh!" She groaned out loud, falling onto her back, she shielded her eyes from the sun. "It's way too hot!"
"I'm sorry, Maila-san," he apologized frantically, lowering his kunai in shame. "I didn't think it would take this long. I trul--"
"It's okay." She smiled, a genuine smile hidden from him. "Keep your eye on the target. Stick your elbow higher and use your wrist more."
He beamed with happiness. "Hai! Thank you very much!" He called enthusiastically before concentrating on the targets once more.
Biting his lower lip, he flung the weapon swiftly toward the straw objects. His eyes widened at the result. "Maila-san!!!" He screeched.
"What?" She got up groggily, taking the toll from the unneeded heat. "Oh? You hit it. Congrats!"
"Yess! Finally." He continued to dance around in circles, clearly rejoicing the moment.
"Too bad you have four more to go," she deadpanned, creating a dejected Rock Lee, something you don't see every day. Shaking her head at his response, she suggested, "I'll tell you what. If you get all four of these, I'll treat you to a bowl of Ichiraku's Ramen."
The smile returned to his face. "Really?" She nodded. Perfect! He always dreamed about eating, something - anything! - with her!!!
He turned to the targets with more determination than ever. There was a prospect of a DATE. Who wouldn't be excited?!
"Yessss!" Lee cheered as the last of the kunai made solid contact with the distant straw objects. "Gai sensei was right. The power of love IS amazing!!"
