Chapter 6: The Dark Side of the Moon
Beth is naturally a genuis at her school. She makes the top five every year, teachers love her to death, and is forced into Student Concil (ususally becoming president). Always bullied by everyone, Beth is usually terrorized mostly by the popular girls. Mean, strong, and in charge, Beth doesn't stand a chance against them. That is until Beth finds out their secret...
I was a bit stunned. I mean, if someone said that you were a witch, you would be freaking out too, right?
So my first reaction was to stay silent. Then I took a deep breath and said, "Wow."
Yeah, smooth thing to say infront of the Goddess Epona. She was probably pissed at me and was going to say, "Well, you can't handle this. I'll just suck the magic right out of ur skull."
"I shall not do such behavoir."
I flinched. Ah, she can read my mind. Okay, shut the babble up in your head, Bethany.
"I'm sorry, Goddess. I...It's hard to take it all in, y'know?"
"Yes, Freya. I understand this may be hard for you, but you have to understand, this is extreme. Your sisters have called upon you to help them defeat the dark magic that is returning to the world."
That made me listen real hard. My instincts took over.
"Dark magic? What is it called?" I asked. The Goddess sighed in sadness.
"It is called, Loki."
I felt my spirit shade in knowledge. "Isn't that the name of a God in Norse Mythology. Where he controlled magic and fire, and in time he got more and more evil? And then in the end Gods chained him up to a rock?"
Epona laughed and I could feel her nod. Even though I couldn't see her, I could feel her presense, and what she was doing.
"Correct, Freya. It's not the God himself that is coming back though, it's his magics. They are seeping into the mortal world, indangering innocence. The world is in danger!"
I felt a shiver go up my spine. Or soul spine. Soul back.
"And it's up to all of the witches to save the humans?" I asked.
"I am afraid so. It is your duty, along with your sisters, to find more power for the battle. But when it's time to fight, you will fight. So we need to collect as many witches as possible. Do you understand?"
"Yes Ma'am. I will do my best for you, Epona."
I felt the Goddess smile.
"Then it is time for you to return back to your sisters. Thank you so much Freya."
"No problem, Goddess." I said. I felt pressure on my again, but instead, it was pulling me up. I heard myself breathing again, and then the forest came back into view. I was gasping for breath, and I was lying on the floor. The pulling stopped, and I breathed deeply, trying to calm down.
Ivy was next to me in an instant. Or Irises.
"Did you do okay?" She asked. I nodded.
"Epona said that we need to gather as many as we can. We need to fight Loki."
