Hidden Royalty~6
BEEP BEEP BEEP BEE-
I smacked my alarm before I heard another BEEP out of it! It was 6:30. Oh perfect. Honestly, I was in no mood to go to school. I dragged myself out of bed and did my usual morning routine. I was in no mood do to anything special so I just put my hair in a braid and put on skinny jeans, a black t-shirt, and my Vans. I put on a light jacket just in case and then grabbed my Juicy school bag. I went down stairs only to find Marcus andTristan eating breakfast.
"Morning Mia." my uncle Arthur greeted.
"Morning Arthur." I smiled back.
I sat next to Marcus and said good morning. I did the same to Tristan.
"So Tristan, when did you get here?" I asked pouring myself some juice.
"Oh not that long ago, just about 20 minutes ago." he smiled at me.
"Mom and dad said that one of our friends should be with us at all time to protect you. So I picked Tristan." Marcus explained.
"Gee there's a shock." I replied sarcastically.
"See Marcus, I told you she'd rather have Jaden as her 'protector'." Tristan smirked.
I kicked him in the shin under the table and he squealed. I smirked at my victory.
"Ok well we have to get going." I said.
"Who's taking you kids to school?" Anna asked.
"Oh I can. I brought my car with me." Tristan replied quickly.
"Since when can you drive?" Marcus asked.
"Since about 3 days ago." Tristan replied back.
The three of us got up and walked to Tristan's car which was a black Range Rover.
"Oh yeah, this defiently won't attract attention to us." I retorted.
Tristan walked over to my side and opened the door for me. "Stop being a smart ass and get in." he smirked.
I rolled my eyes and hopped in the back seat. Thank god his windows were tinted.
Once we arrived at school, Tristan parked his car and we got out. Camera's were flashing everywhere trying to get Marcus and I to say something but we kept quiet. Once we were inside the school, they all left us alone since the principal said that no reporters or paparrazzi were allowed inside the campus.
I went to my locker and saw Leah waiting for me. I said bye to the guys and walked towards her.
"Mia! Oh my god I've been so worried about you!" Leah hugged me.
I hugged her back. "Leah, I'm fine. Just a minor run in with reporters."
Leah smiled at me and we started walking around campus.
Everywhere I went people asked me for pictures. I wasn't going to say no so I just agreed. I walked over to Marcus and the guys just to see the cheerleaders drooling all over them.
"So Marcus, when's the next soccer game?" the head cheerleader asked.
Her name was Rachel Adams. She was the slut of the school and yet, guys seemed to fight over her all the time.
"It's this Friday." Marcus replied.
"Is it hard to make a touchdown in soccer?" Rachel asked twirling her hair.
I scoffed. "Rachel, I don't know how smart you think you are but last time I checked, touchdowns are for football, not soccer."
She gave me a dirty look. "No one asked for your opinion. You shouldn't even be here, you're not welcome here. None of the people here even no you."
"Um Rachel, that's Marcus's sister. Princess Mia." Jaden said as he walked over to me.
Rachel looked at me then at Marcus with her mouth wide open.
"I....just...well.... oh shoot! I forgot my books in my locker!" she lied.
Rachel and the rest of her little crew ran off and we were just left laughing.
"God, I really don't see how people can like her." Jaden said shaking his head.
"She's hot. What else is there?" Marcus replied.
I smacked him upside his head with my hand. He turned around and glared at me. I looked over at Leah who's head was hung low.
"Is everything ok?" I asked placing a hand on her shoulder.
She looked up at me with tears forming in her eyes. "I'll tell you later."
"Ok." I said back.
The bell rang and we were all off to our first peiod. Unfortunately, mine was P.E. I walked into the locker room and changed into my uniform. I walked back out and got in line for role call.
Throughout the day, the teachers were giving me special treatment. Telling me that I didn't have to do something if I didn't want too. Thankfully, lunch came around soon and I sat with the group.
"So Mia, who are you going to homecoming with?" Tyler asked.
I took a sip of my Snapple. "No one. I don't think I'm even going."
The table filled with whispers and light laughing.
"Why?" I asked Tyler.
"Oh nothing, we were just wondering. Now that you're royalty, us guys want to help you pick out the perfect date." Tyler smirked.
I knew something suspicious was going on but, I just shrugged it off.
After lunch, I had English and World History. Both classes went by quickly and then it was time to go home. Marcus and I met up at the front gates and then walked to Tristan's car. He said that he'd be able to take us home today.
"Oh hey Tristan, can you drop me off at Starbucks? I promised Leah I'd meet her there." I asked.
"Does your aunt know?" Tristan asked.
"Yeah, she knows." I said.
"Alright, I'll drop you off." he said.
After Tristan dropped me off, I walked into Starbucks and got coffee. In reality, I wasn't meeting anyone here I just wanted some time alone. People did recognize me but they were polite enough to just leave me alone. I started doing some algebra homework.
"Hey Mia." a voice said above.
I looked up and smiled. "Oh hey Jaden. What are you doing here?"
He sat down infront of me. "I could ask you the same thing. Don't you have some royal ball to attend to?"
I chuckled. "No, don't you have soccer practice to be at?"
"Touche." he smiled.
"Thanks. So what are you doing here?" I asked.
"Oh I come here just to relax and study." Jaden said looking into my eyes.
"Oh that's cool. Yeah I told Tristan to drop me off here because I was meeting Leah. But I just wanted to spend time alone." I explained.
"Oh well then I'll go." he said getting up.
"No, no, no that's not what I meant. I meant that I just didn't want to be under his and Marcus's constant supervision." I said.
He sat back down. "Oh ok. So how've you been? Ever since school started we haven't really had much of a chance to talk."
"Oh yeah I'm sorry about that. It's just that this whole royalty thing is a bit hard for me." I said.
"Well you'll always have me to help you." he said taking my hand.
His touch sent a waveof electricity through my hand. I felt my cheeks blush but I managed to control it. We were sitting like that for who knows how long but then, a flash from a camera interupted us.
"Hey Princess! Why don't you and your new boyfriend kiss?!" the abnoxious paparazzi yelled through the window.
I looked at Jaden who took my hand and we ran out. Camera's were everywhere and people were crowding us. We ran to his car and got in as fast as we could. We drove out of the parking lot and down the street.
"Since when do you people all drive?!" I asked.
"I got my permit about a month ago." he said.
I just nodded my head in understanding. We drove past my house and I started wondering where we're going.
"Uh Jaden, not to burst your bubble or anything but you do realize that you just drove past my house right?" I told him.
"Relax Mia, I'm taking you to a place to where I have never taken any other girl before." he said smiling at me.
I smiled back and we just drove out somewhere. The whole car ride, we were talking about everything and anything. From family to food to friends, until we finally got there around 6.
"We're here." Jaden said parking his car in the middle of the woods.
I got out cautiously. "Um Jaden, you're not going to kill me are you?"
"MIA! How can you acuse me of such a thing?!" he said in a fake dramatic voice.
"I was just asking." I said.
He walked over to my side of the car and took my hand. We walked in silence until we arrived at a tiny little cottage.
"It's beautiful." I gasped.
"It's my familys. We come here during the winter holidays." Jaden said opening the door.
We walked inside and everything was so modern, but not crowded. Jaden showed me around the house and then we walked through the woods. We came to a clearing that was on the edge of a lake.
"This is what I really wanted to show you." Jaden said turning me around.
I gasped as I took in the scenery. The sunset was reflecting on the lake making it all that more beautiful. The mountains were carver perfectly. This was an amazing moment for me.
"Mia, I want to ask you something." Jaden said.
I turned to face him. "Anything."
He took a deep breath. "Mia, will you go to homecoming with me?"
His question caught me off guard. Nonetheless, it's what I've been waiting for.
"I'd love too." I said smiling.
Jaden smiled and started leaning in. The gap between us was getting smaller and smaller until our lips met. I felt like a parade was going on in my stomach. The kiss was soft yet powerful and it was better than what I imagined for it to be. We pulled apart and he wrapped his arms around me pulling me into his chest. My hands went around his torso and my head rested in his chest. We took there just like that staring off into the sunset. This was the best moment of my life.
