Slow and Steady wins the race : Viktor Krum : ten (YEAH DOUBLE DIGITS!)

Aubrey's POV
It was a few days before the Yule Ball, and Viktorhad asked me already to theball. I was so excited, and I hadn't told anyone besides hermione yet.
One of Viktor's friends asked hermione to the Yule Ball. I thought it was really sweet because we could double date now.
i wasin study hall with snape as our advisor person, with hermione, oliver, ron, harry, fred, george,alicia, and angelina.
Then, ronstarted the conversation about hermioneand dates. She ran out.
"Ron! I cannot BELIEVe you would say that to her! Seriously!" Iwhisper/yelled at him.
"Well, it's not like you'll get one either. Too bad you can't take quidditch as a a date"Oliver said. I looked at himshocked.
"You know what, Oliver, I already have a date. So go shutthe bloody hell up, and it's too bad you can't take quidditch as a date" I replied, as I imitated oliver on the last line. I handed my stuff in to snape quickly. And left to go follow hermione.
Sure enough, i found her in our common room.
hermione's POV
I couldn't BELIEVE ron had said that!
"Hey mione, are you okay?"she asked as she walked in and slammed the door shut behind her. Ilooked up at her, with tears streaming out of my eyes.
"I'm so sorry, Ron is just a stupid git, just like Oliver"she said.
"Wait, what happenedwith oliver?"I asked.
"The exact same thing as you, but he decided to say "too bad you can't take quidditch as a date" so i just threw it right back at him and said i had a date"she explaind. I hugged her, and we just sat there for a few minutes.
Then she got up, andchanged into a pair of shorts and a big tee shirt.
"what are you doing?" I asked her.
"Running. it'll help calmme down.How about we don't say anything about our dates until the Yule Ball" she replied. I shook her handon the deal and wiped my eyes dry.
Aubrey's POV
After I had ran for almost 3 hours,I was finally better.When I came back intothe gryffindor common room, Oliver tried to talk and apoligize. I ignored him and went straight up to the dorm.
"Are you okay?" Angelina asked as I entered the dorm. Alicia and hermione were there too.
"Yeah, I'm better" I replied as I sat on my bed.
"Who are you going to the ball with?" Alicia asked curiously.
i looked to Hermione and nodded.
"Don't tell anyone but I'm going with Viktor Krum, my boyfriend" I replied.
They all gasped, and i had to explain the WHOLE story.

FAST FORWARD:
Aubrey's POV
It was finally the YuleBall. We didn't have any classes today.
I was sitting in the common room just readinga quidditch magazine when oliver came down and sat besides me.
"Aubrey, i am trully sorry. Iregret fully what I did, and I definitely do not want to lose you as a friend. Truthfully, I never thoughtthat you would find someone. I am so sorry" oliver said as he held my arms down so I could not move.
I sighed.
"Oliver, what you said hurt me. It was rude, and out of line." I replied looking into his eyes.
"Please Aubrey. It is killing me that I hurt you like that. Please, forgive me and be my best friend again??" oliver pleaded with a puppydog face.
"Fine, but if you ever,and I mean EVER,do something like that again, I will personallymake sure you have a horrible life" I replied.
Oliver stuck out his armssmiling, and I embraced him with a smile. I couldn't notbe friends with him because we have such a long historythat it would be impossible.
"Will you save me a dance??" oliver asked.
"I'll try, but I can make no promises" I replied smiling and winking. We both laughed.
A few hours later:
All of us girls were getting readyfor theball.
Suddenly, Viktor's hawk knocked against the window. I opened it's beak andlet the letter and white rose fall out.
Dear Aubrey,
No matter what you wear, i know you will look beautiful. i hope you are not too nervousbecause you could wear a bag and look breath taking.I willmeet you at the grand staircase.

"Aww, he isso sweet" Alicia said as I put the rose beside my bed. I smiled brightly, and sighed as I went to go finish getting ready.

I curled my hair into loose curls, and put on thin black eyeliner that made my eyes go POP,mascara,natural blush and foundation, and somelip gloss.
Then, I put on my dress:

After I put on the dress, Alicia, Angelina, and hermione stopped what they were dong and just stared at me with their jaws dropped.
"What??!" I asked nervously.
"You're... beautiful." Alicia said.
"No, she'sbetter than that, she's gorgeous" Angelina said as I blushed.
"Viktor is going to die when he sees you" hermione said.
I blushed even brighter.
Finally, we all went down. Angelina went first down the common room stairs, then alicia, then hermione, then me.
Fred and George were the only two guys there and their mouths droppedwhen theysaw me.
"Bloody hell, is that Aubrey??" Fred asked as he hugged me tgihtly.
"Yepp, you bet it is"Angelinareplied as shesmiled brightly at me. Iblushed and Hermione and I went.
When we walked down the Great Stairs, the room stopped talking and everyone looked up at us. Hermione and I shared a glance and smiled lightly.
At the bottom, Viktor and hermione's date were waiting for us.
Viktor's POV
I vas talking vith myfriend vhen everything grew quiet. I looked to the stairs, and therevas my angel, aubrey. She smiled at me, andvhen she came down, I took her hand and kissed it.
I could tell everyone vas shocked, butit did not matter anymore.Ve verepublic.
Out of thecorner of my eye, however, i saw Oliver Woodvith his jaw dropped looking at Aubrey. I vanted to go smack him and tell him to stop looking atMY girl like a piece of meat.
Asvevaited outside for our grand entrance, since Ivas a contestant, i held her hand and ve just stood there looking at eachother.
"You look beautiful" i said to her as I gazed into her mesmirizing icy blue eyes. Shesmiled lightly.
Then the musique started playing, andI took Aubrey'ssmall delicatehand in mine. Ve danced our vay onto the dance floor, stunning everyone as ve danced magnificently pass.
Aubrey and I danced in perfect synch, knowing eachother's moves like reading eachother's mind. Ve vere perfect.As I twirled her around, and picked her up into the sky, Aubrey vas extremely light and perfectvith me.

Vhenever Aubreyvas near, I couldn't help but smile. The aura surrounding her vas entrancing, and made me vant to protect her and alvays be vith her. I had found my soulmate.
