Seth throws rocks at the beach angrily. Eliza saw as he threw them with such force it was like a huge rock was landing.

“Seth.” Eliza said coming closer to him.

“Go away!” Seth hissed.

“Why are you acting like this?” She snapped at him.

“Why do you care? You’re leaving aren’t you?” He finally looked at her with hateful eyes.

Eliza then understood why Seth was acting this way.

“I’ll be back Seth,” Eliza assured him but she wasn’t entirely sure she was. Here there were too many problems and she didn’t want any more drama, she wanted a normal life. “I could never leave you.” She strokes his hair.

Seth sniffled and hugged Eliza by the waist. “I miss him Eliza!” Seth cried. “And it’s all my fault he’s dead!! I killed him! I killed my dad!”

Eliza cooed Seth. Seth may look like an adult but in reality he was still a fifteen year old boy who lost his father.

“It wasn’t your fault, Seth. It was just misfortunate that your father had to witness you phase.”

“I can’t forgive myself.” Seth whispered.

“Look, there really isn’t anything I can say because I’m not good at this kind of thing,” She said honestly. “But, I can tell you to hang on to all of those beautiful memories and just make each day count.”

“When you said you were leaving… I thought… you were going to abandon me.” He confessed.

Eliza chuckled. “I can’t exactly promise I’ll stay forever, but I’ll come back… eventually.” She teased and ruffled his hair.

[Home]

Eliza finished the last problem of her math homework and puts her things away. She never imagined herself doing homework and now she was doing it every day and actually paying attention in class. She didn’t need to peek at Jasper’s paper anymore.

[Emmett’s Point of View]

“Then tell her you don’t want her to leave!” Alice insisted but Emmett didn’t budge.

“If she wants to leave then let her!” He screamed back.

“You know you want her to stay and you’re both too stubborn to admit it.” Alice pointed out. “If she does this you’ll lose her forever Emmett, I see it. She doesn’t come back the same, that’s if she comes back, she keeps changing her mind!”

The thought of never seeing Eliza made his stomach twist in pain he never thought possible.

“This is once in a lifetime opportunity and I’m not going to let her pass it just because I’m selfish.” Emmett shot back.

“She loves you, Emmett.” Alice pleaded with her eyes. “Go to her… now.”

Emmett glared at Alice. “I’m going hunting.” He muttered and flashed out of the house and straight towards Bella’s house.

He looked out from her window in a tree and blended in the shadows. He watched her as she played the acoustic guitar and sang. He had never seen her like this. Completely naked and not in a physical way but in an emotional way.

Eliza was always a hot head and never showed her true feelings, but seeing her like this made him think there was a human side to her after all. As he hears the lyrics of the songs he can’t but to believe they’re about him. Oh, how he wished he had Edward’s power to read her mind and know what goes on in her head.

She strummed nicely and Emmett listened.

“Down to you, you’re pushing and pulling me down to you but I don’t know what I… now when I caught myself I had to stop myself from saying something that I should’ve never thought, now when I caught myself I had to stop myself from saying something that I should’ve never thought of you, of you Down to you, you’re pushing and pulling me down to you but I don’t know what I want,”

Emmett smiled. He had never thought possible of loving someone so fully. Edward had tried to explain the scent Bella sent him, but he just laughed at his face but now as he inhaled the air he smelled Eliza’s exotic scent.

It was a mix of things he couldn’t put his finger on but he knew they were all so sweet and pure. Her skin set his cold one on fire and the taste of her lips were his drug. His favorite drug, just one hit is never enough and it was addicting like cocaine. It was like eating the forbidden fruit and enjoying every fucking second.

He would endure all kinds of pain and suffering for her.

“You got it; you got it, some kind of magic, hypnotic, hypnotic. You’re leaving me breathless I hate this I hate this you’re not the one I believe in with God as my witness!”

She continued to sing. Charlie knocks on her door. “Time to sleep, Eliza.”

“Yeah, Chuck.” She puts the guitar away and the notebook in her drawer. She removes her shirt revealing all of her scars. Emmett winced as he saw them. The branding that would forever her reminds her of the worst time of her life.

Then his mark on her left breast that had been branded breaking his mental bond with her. Eliza closes her window and turns out the lights. Emmett makes sure she’s asleep when he enters her bedroom quietly.

He needed to find that letter. He looked everywhere visible but Eliza wasn’t exactly Martha Stewart. He looks under the bed and finds a whole bunch of lingerie. Emmett smirks as he sees her bras and thongs and smiled widely when he saw boy underwear of Batman.

Finally, at the very end of the bed was an envelope that had Eliza’s name written on it.

He reached for it and placed it on her nightstand. He just couldn’t afford to lose her, for his love and his sanity.

A human bringing a vampire to his knees, literally. Emmett gently kissed her forehead. She stirred and murmured.

“Emmett.”

He smiled. She was dreaming about him.

[Eliza’s Point of View]

She woke up from her dream that quickly left her thoughts. She did her morning routine and when she walked back in her room and went to her drawer to get her notebook she stopped when she saw the envelop.

She took it in her hands. It had her name printed nicely in the front. Then she thought of what Emmett said of writing her a letter that would make her understand why he left.

She did what she thought was best. She took the lighter from her back pocket and flicked it on and set the letter on fire. She let it burn and then tossed in her metal garbage bucket. With a satisfied smile on her face she takes her notebook and hangs the strap of her bag over her shoulder and walks out of her room.

[Three Weeks Later]

[Prom Night]

“Ready?” Charlie asked Eliza as he knocked on her door. Bella was gone to Jacksonville with Edward and Eliza and Charlie were the only ones together for the weekend of Prom. He had his digital camera ready; Evan was waiting downstairs with her corsage in hand.

“Yeah, Chuck.” Eliza said slipping into her heels and took her purse with her keys, make-up and cash. Eliza opened the door and Charlie gasped.

“You look stunning, Eliza.”

Eliza had a gray strapless dress that reached her knees. Her hair was down and pushed to the right side of her head with a pendant holding it there. Her makeup was a more natural look. She didn’t want to use too much makeup.

“Thanks,” She said and did a little twirl for him which made him laugh. He raised the camera and Eliza pose with her hand on her hip leaning on her right side and smiling. After the flash she hooks arms with Charlie and walk down stairs. Once Evan hears her descending downstairs he stands from the couch and looks and smiles widely.

“Wow, Eliza, absolutely… a.m.a.z.i.n.g.” Evan complimented.

“Thanks, Evan.”

He slips in her corsage in her left wrist. Charlie starts taking tons of pictures and a video as they exit and get in the limo they were sharing with the rest of the people.

“Be back… just come home to sleep, okay?” Charlie asked and Eliza nodded.

Eliza and the others were excited and started talking and dancing already in the limo. The school was actually going to have Prom at Port Angeles since most of the school was going the gym was surprisingly not large enough to fit them all.

The theme was A Night Under the Stars because the place they got had no roof top and you could see the stars. Isn’t that cute?

Evan and Eliza took their Prom pictures together. Girls complimented her on the dress she chose. She looked around and saw no Cullen’s. She thought Alice or Rosalie would be here, but not anymore.

“Let’s dance?” Eliza encouraged her group and they agreed.

They started to dance to Pokerface by Lady Gaga. The DJ was cool; he knew what was in and what was out. He also put some techno which made Eliza go all out and start dancing like in a rave. Out of nowhere someone hands a glow stick and everyone has glow sticks.

The music seemed to never end.

Then a pair of arms snaked around her waist. She tried to look but the person was so close she couldn’t turn around, her muscles tensed.

“Relax,” Emmett’s voice said and her muscles did as he told. “I’m not going to hurt you.”

Eliza didn’t know what to say. She had stopped dancing but Emmett was gracefully moving to the music.

“What’s wrong?” He asked as he pulled her closer again. “You can handle me right?”

[Not this close.] She thought. But his voice said it was a challenge and she loved challenges. She started to sway along with the music. Everyone else was freaking, which means dancing really close together, and so the teachers gave up on telling students to have space between each other, hehehe.

Eliza was so into the love dance with Emmett that she forgot that she was leaving Monday. She was leaving. But she couldn’t bring herself to think of that when she was in pure bliss with Emmett at the moment.

His lips brushed against her neck and her eyes rolled back and her little hairs stood. His hands remained her waist but guided her through the music.

“I love you,” He whispered just for her to hear. “Do you feel the same?”

“Yes.” She didn’t even hesitate.

“Then stay with me, I need you now, Eliza.” Oh those were the words she wanted to hear from him.

“I have to go though… for my sake. For my sanity, Emmett.” She said.

He turns her around so she could face him face to face. His face was serious and yet his eyes held so much sorrow.

“I hurt you in ways I should’ve never done so. I thought I was doing the right thing by leaving… have you read the letter?”

Her eyebrows furrowed. “How did you know I f—did you sneak in my room at night?!” She screeched in a whisper and stopped dancing.

“I had no choice!” He said.

“You’re a pervert.” She shook her head.

“I only have eyes for you, love.” He smirked.

Eliza rolled her eyes but her heart skipped a beat when he had smiled like that.

“The letter?” He insisted.

“I…” She paused and looked away. “I burnt it. I’m moving on Emmett.”

His heart was breaking, his dead heart was breaking right in front of her eyes and she didn’t even care, at least that’s what he thought.

“What are—okay we need a place where no one can hear this.” Eliza said taking his hand and led him away from the dance floor.

They walked to the parking lot. It was empty because Prom was going on strong.

Eliza let’s go of his hand and the tingly feeling in her body stopped. She sighed and turned to him and found his lips against hers. She moved them along with his and she ran her hands through his hair and pulled him closer. She couldn’t help it. His kisses were lethal.

She finally got the will and stopped.

“This isn’t right.” She hissed.

“What isn’t?” He hissed back. “You love me and I love you what else do we need to know?”

“That I’m human, Emmett and that… I’m just… not ready to not sleep and eat. What are we thinking? We’re going to make fools of ourselves.” Eliza scoffed. “This will never work out because you’ll always want my blood and not—“

“You think I only want you because of your blood?!” He gasped.

“We shouldn’t be doing this! It’s only going to hurt in the end!” She started to yell. “I talked to my psychiatrist and she thinks the same!”

“Betty told you that?!” He growls.

“How do you know Betty?”

“She’s a vampire, Eliza, haven’t you noticed?”

Eliza was not surprised, she kind of guessed after her last meeting when she refused to eat what Eliza had brought for a ‘Thank you’ gesture.

“That’s not the point, Emmett, the point is that it’s best if I leave and… we move on. I mean,” She laughed bitterly. “Right now… I just can’t… turn my life around.” That was a lie. “We can’t go on pretending stories like ours have happy endings.”

This hurt Emmett in ways he never dreamt possible. He did what he did best… get mad.

“Do what you want. Just know that… I may not be here when you come back… if you come back.” He spat and walked out on Eliza.

Darkness of the night surrounded her. “I love you,” She croaked finally. “I’ll always love you.”

A/N: Dude that last line was so corny, even for me, but I guess that’s how it works. Appreciate all of the messages you guys sent met =]
