Balance transfer credit cards won't not be the most popular Credit card category in the market. But they are certainly the most underrated category of mastercards. Most people regularly select to go for rewards or cash back cards for their day to day desires as they aren't happy not happy with the idea transferring their debt balances.
A good balance transfer credit card allows you to transfer your high interest debt to a lower interest debt and save thousands in the long run ( depending on the balance and the transfer rate ).
I faced the difficult call of choosing the right card when I could not afford expensive balance transfer cards any more. That is when I made up my mind to go on a search to find the very best Credit card that is out there for this category.
Here are a few factors to look at in order to find credit card:
Always check the transfer APR to make sure you are not getting yourself in trouble.
- honeymoon period : ensure you find out for how long your APR transfer is going to last. Some corporations put a cap on the quantity of months that you can receive the low APR.
- Balance transfer credit card offers fee: Credit card firms are in business to make profit. Also keep an eye out for the maximum that you can be charged for a single transfer.
- Balance transfer cap: Make sure you understand how much you are allowed to transfer to your new Mastercard. You may need 2 or 3 credit cards to cover your debt.
But do not let the yearly fee put you off. Occasionally you can get the hottest deal by paying $100-$200 yearly fee. Do your maths and learn how long it'll take for you to pay up your balances.
Some of the finest transfer cards come with a rich set of rewards as well.
After carefully inspecting all the above factors, I came to the conclusion that Advanta Life of Balance card was simply the most reasonablebalance transfer credit card that is out there ( particularly if you have big balances ). Advanta offers you the chance to transfer your balances from other credit card and tie them into a rate of 2.99% for the life of your account. But there's also a maximum that you can be charged per transaction, suggesting you are defended from paying a massive debt to your Advanta life of balance credit card ( there's also no annual fee).
Depending on your balance, other cards may work better for you. But for huge balances, you would want to lock in a low rate for the life of the balance, and the Advanta card permits you to do just that.
