"Will someone tell her to PLEASE let GO!" Quil demanded as we approached the porch where the rest of the pack were sitting. I pressed my lips together to conceal my laugh while still holding tight. I hadn't loosened once.
"Nah," Jacob said, settling into a rocking chair. Quil glared. "Oh, fine. Dayna?"
"Yes?" I chirped, sweet and innocent as ever. They snickered and I heard a small, low- ahem, sexy- growl come from his throat which rumbled through his body. It only made me hang on tighter.
"Quil would like you to let go now," Jacob chirped back, mimicking my tone. I sighed and released my grip, falling to the ground and sticking it on my feet. I flip-flopped into the house and then went upstairs to shower and change. When I was done, I trudged back downstairs.

I had gotten on my best zebra pajamas and my feel-better-hat. I know, it sounds lame- but whenever I've worn it, good things have happened. And maybe this wish was a bit extreme, but the hat might help. I went past the pack in the living room and into the kitchen. I hopped on the counter and began going through the cabinents.
I pulled back when I found some Lays Lightly Salted chips- the best I could find- and then I went into the fridge and grabbed the just-bought mayonaise and into the drawer for a spoon. I shuffled into the living room again and sat on the end of the couch, throwing my legs over Paul and Embry.
"Whaddaya got there, Tweedy?" Paul asked.
"Mine." I mumbled, pulling open the chips bag and screwing off the cap to the mayo.
"Oh, no," Leah moaned, taking a seat on the abnormally sturdy coffee table.
"What?" Paul asked.
"That." Leah said, pointing a finger at me, her face disgusted.
I scooped the spoon in the mayo to get just enough and then spread it on the potato chip- popping it into my mouth after. Sure, it sounds gross- but have you tried it? Boy are you missing out. Potato chips and mayonaise are one of the worst things on Earth for you- but the best thing to eat. A mouth food, if you will.
"Wow..." Jacob trailed off.
"Oh, Dayna, that's the worst thing for you," Leah whined.
"They're 'Lightly Salted'," I sang, holding up the bag. The pack laughed- except Leah.
"But it's so bad for you," She urged.
"But it's my comfort food," I protested.
"Have you ever tried chocolate? Or ice cream? Or chips and salsa? Something normal?" She fired off.
"Nope." I answered plainly, making another chip.
"Can I try some?" Paul asked, opening his mouth wide. I nodded numbly, popping a mayo-chip in his mouth. "Mmmmm..." He said, licking his lips and opening his mouth again.
"Get your own, stupid wolf," I mumbled, tugging the chips closer.
"What's with the hat?" Jar-Jar asked.
"Well, Jar-Jar," He sighed. "This is my feel-better-hat."
"Your-?" Paul began.
"Don't you dare, Salvestar." I warned.
"Wasn't gonna." He said, sitting back.
"I'm depressed." I finished simply, eating more chips with mayo.
"About...?" Jacob trailed off.
"Quil, you idiot," Leah snapped. I looked up at her.
"What did we say about snapping, Lee-Bear?" I asked.
"To stop it." She mumbled. The pack snickered.
"Exactly." I said, turning back to my snack. She sighed, staring at the container of mayo with hate.
"You eat just as much and more." I argued.
"But, I-"
"-am worried for your well-being and am only trying to be a good cousin'." I stated dully. "We go through this every time and I know you're the big sister I never had but... well, with all due respect, shut up." I said. The pack roared with laughter this time while Leah narrowed her eyes at the ground. "I love you, Lee-Bear," I chirped.
"Love you, too," She muttered, sinking into an arm chair after kicking Seth out of it.
"So... how did it go with Quil?" He asked, taking a seat on the floor next to me.
"Well... it went okay for the most part," I responded. I looked down and popped a chip in his mouth coated with mayonaise. He nodded, motioning for me to go on as he chewed. "There's not much to say. We talked, we sat, we swam, we almost kissed, we-"
"Almost kissed?!" They hollered back.
"What are you? Deaf?" I questioned.
"No, but, you-"
"Well, you, uh, and-"
"Oh, look, you're speechless." I cooed.
"Shut up and tell us what happened." Embry and Jacob leaned in closer.
"I can't possibly tell you what happened if I'm shutting up, now can I?" I retorted, sticking chips in both their mouths.
"Fine. Don't shut up but tell us what happened." Jacob said after gulping down the bite.
"Well... I went in and woke him up- which he didn't take too well- and after that, well..." I blushed.
"Aw, she's blushing," Paul said, pinching my cheek. I shoved him away, pulling the chip bag in front of my face.
"Come on, you can tell us," Seth said, rubbing my shoulder.
"It was Seth-tastic," I commented, causing them all to laugh.
"What part was Seth-tastic?" He asked again.
"All of it." I confessed in a sigh.
"This calls for extreme measures. We're stepping it up a noch," Paul announced.
"And we're all helping," Jar-Jar agreed.
"Ditto." Jacob and Embry said at once.
"Seconded," Seth nodded, giving my shoulder a squeeze and me a grin.
"Definitely," Leah said, cheering up from her sulk earlier.
"Then it's agreed. Extreme measures." I said with a smirk.
