[7; Party Crashers]
I made my way out of the ballroom doors and sighed in relief. Man was I glad I was out of there- I can just stand those people for so long.
I walked across the lobby to go sit by the large fountain they had sitting in the middle of the room. [It was really random but it was still so elegant.
Once I reached the fountain, I sat down and slouched with the process.
Why is it everywhere I go I have to see Romeo there, too? And frankly; it’s not funny anymore.
What does Camilla see in that guy?
Was it his looks? He doesn’t seem all that handsome to me.
Was it his fighting skills? I’m pretty positive there are better.
Or was it his alluring smile that makes me shiver every time I spot it? WHAT. Hold the phone. Rewind.
Or was it his stupid smirk that he calls a smile?
Cause if it is- I’m putting her on a plane to Europe to find someone better, cuter and nicer person to like.
I snapped out of my thoughts and suddenly saw someone come sit a few spots away from me. I peeked around the fountain and found Asher sitting all alone, staring into space looking like a chump.
I got up from my spot and moved a little closer to him- “Asher right?” I asked, shyly.
He looked up, “I’m gay.” He blurted out all of a sudden.
I blinked a couple times before I replied. “P-Pardon?” I asked.
“I…” He began, pointing towards himself. “Am gay.” He finished. “So don’t hit on me.” He added.
I made an awkward face and replied- “Uhm… I wasn’t gunna hit on you…” I replied in a weird tone of voice.
He raised his right eyebrow. “Promise-“I said, lifting my hands up in defense. “May I sit there?” I asked- gesturing to the empty spot beside him.
He nodded, “Sure.” He said.
I smiled and took a step forward but my foot tripped and I started falling forward. I closed my eyes and outstretched my arms, ready for compact. But all I felt was someone snaking their arm around my waist from behind, catching me.
I opened my eyes and turned my head around; wanting to see my savior.
It was Asher!
“I thought you could have used some help.” He smiled.
“You thought quick.” I sighed.
I grinned, “Thanks.” I mumbled as I got up. “Sorry about that- I’m real Klutz.” I admitted.
“Don’t take a genius to figure that out.” He said. Great- he thinks I’m a freakin’ dorkatron.
He then suddenly chuckled- “I’m just kidding.”
I let out a nervous laugh- “I’m not really gay.” He said all of a sudden.
“W-what now?” I asked.
“I just said that because pretty much half of those sluts in there were throwing themselves at me.” He told me.
I nodded, understanding. “Oh- tough world, huh?” I said sarcastically.
“Was that sarcasm?” He asked.
“About ninety-nine percent.” I said.
“What’s the one percent?” He asked.
“I’m still debating.”
He laughed, “What’s your name again? Ann… Annie?”
“-Annette.” I corrected.
“My bad- but can I call you, Annie?”
I cringed. “My grandma calls me that.”
“Oh… Sorry.” He said.
“Oh! No, its fine. You can call me that if you want but- just don’t pinch my cheeks or something.” I said.
He laughed again. “I’ll stick with Annette.” He said.
“Sweet deal.”
Asher and I sat down on the fountain again. “So… having fun at the party? I asked.
Asher shrugged, “Not really my thing- don’t get me wrong; there decorations and everything look great but…”
“Nah, I understand. It’s not really my thing either.” I said. “And this stupid mask- ugh!” I whined as I ripped it off. After I did so, I turned my gaze back over to Asher to see him staring at me intensely.
I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion, was there something on my face? “W-what, is there something on my face?” I asked, feeling around my skin.
He shook his head. “N-no. It’s just that… you’re really pretty.” He sighed.
I turned my head away and I started to feel my cheeks burn. He thinks I’m pretty! Okay Annette, keep it cool!
“T-thanks.” I managed.
I saw that he was blushing as well. “Aren’t you going to take off your mask?” I asked.
“I rather not.” He said.
“Why not?”
“I look like a dork.” He said.
I laughed, “So, we can be dork buddies! I almost face planted onto this floor for crying out loud!”
He shook his head ‘no.’ “Why are you so shy about your looks?” I asked.
“Why are you so pretty?” He said. I smiled.
“W-why can’t you just take off you mask?”
“Why can’t you just give me your number?”
“Why can’t-“What did he just say? I thought about what I was going to say next. “B-because you didn’t ask!” I continued.
“Can I have your number?”
“I’ll give you my number once you take off your mask.” I said.
“How bout’ I’ll take my mask off once you give me your number?”
“You first.” I said.
“No- you first.” He replied.
We both narrowed our eyes at each other and suddenly we both brought our fist out- it’s like we read each other’s mind. “Rock, paper, siccors!”
“I win!” I boasted after I saw his hand form into a rock and as mine as paper.
“Best three out of four!” He demanded.
“Ok-ay, you’re going to lose though.” I warned.
“Try me!”
We battled it off the second time, then third and I ended up winning. “Ha!” I laughed.
He groaned, “Alright, alright.” He then slowly- and I mean slowly took off his mask.
I just stared at him- “What? It’s for dramatic effect!” He said.
I laughed and he finally took off his mask- revealing his adorable face. “You’re not to shabby yourself.” I said, smiling.
“Hah, thanks- do I get your number, now?” He asked.
“Sure.” I gave him my number and he quickly typed it into his iPhone.
“The world doesn’t revolve around you, Romeo!” I heard Liam shout.
I furrowed my eyebrow and turned around. “Oh did it ever!?” I then saw Romeo furiously walk away from his father and ripped his white mask off as he started walking my way.
My gaze left from Romeo to Liam and then back to Romeo again, what happened?
Romeo looked furious as I saw him walk past Asher and I. He pushed the massive glass doors and stormed towards the parking lot.
I looked back at Asher who also looked very interested in what just happened. “I-I’ll be right back.” I told him.
He nodded. I got up from my spot and started dashing to Romeo.
---
“So what did you do this time?” I asked as I caught up to Romeo.
He looked over to me and gave me a cold stare- “None of your business.” He grumbled.
“I’m the host and if there are any problems at my party- I’d like to know!” I said.
“This is personal!” He snapped.
“Well- I just want you to know that; Cami-“ I stopped in mid-sentence once I heard a gun shot.
Romeo and I stopped in our tracks to look back. My eyes grew wide as I saw two men dressed in black with a mask over their faces aiming their gun towards Romeo and me.
“Oh great- Duck!” Romeo said as he forced me down. “We got to run.” He said as he grabbed my arm and started pulling me.
We both ran as we heard another gun fire. “Ah!” I shouted. “Who are they!?” I asked as we reached Romeo’s car.
“Get in!” He ordered, ignoring my question.
I quickly got into his car and pulled the seatbelt into its lock. Once I did so, Romeo backed up and drove off. I turned around to look back and saw that the two men were in a car as well, chasing us with their shiny guns.
I turned back around and slumped into my seat. My stomach dropped. I think I’m about to have a panic attack.
“W-who are they?” I asked,
“Bronx probably hired them.” He answered , taking a sharp turn.
“Why would he do that!?”
“He’s probably pissed that he lost to me… again.” Romeo said, taking another sharp turn. I then heard more gun shots and the second one went through the back window.
“What lovely party crashers- Ahh!” I screeched as I ducked.
Romeo groaned and began to drift across the road. “I hope you know I dislike you even more!” I informed him.
He smirked, “Good!”
“Good!”
“Good!” He repeated.
“Fine!”
“Fine!”
Another bullet shot. “Ohmygod.Ohmygod.Ohmygod!” I said. “I don’t want to die young, I haven’t even had my first kiss yet!” I blurted out.
“Yo! Good two shoes- shut your trap would you?!’ Romeo commanded.
I shut my mouth and looked around nervously.
I don’t want to die young and especially not with this guy….
