Waste of time..?

Okay well as some of you may know, I've been spending time to update certain of my series thinking it would make them better but hardly anyone is bothering to read them and those that do... don't rate. To me that's like saying it isnt even worth a 1, so I was wondering, is it worth me putting the time into these just to get nothing back in return or will people read them?
