About Me

She's crazy. She's random. She loves to read and loves to write even more. She hates sports. She loves making banners for her stories and for others *and wishes the HTML codes still worked on Quizilla.* She is obsessed with the SciFi Wizard of Oz spin-off Tin Man. REALLY obsessed. She enjoys the Medieval and Victorian eras. Fantasy is her one and only reality. She prefers you call her Catty. Aravis17 is her name, and all she wants is some love. Her playlist contains these: Nightwish, Tarja Turunen, Within Temptation, Evanescence, Elis, Leaves' Eyes, Lunatica, Epica, Three Days Grace, Paramore, Loreena McKennitt, Jem, and soundtracks (Hans Zimmer, Harry Gregson-Williams, etc.). She watches these all the time: Tin Man, Pirates of the Caribbean, Narnia, Harry Potter, Van Helsing, The Mummy, Stargate SG-1, Moonlight, and Everybody Loves Raymond. Her favorites books are: The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis, The Gemma Doyle Trilogy by Libba Bray, The Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer, Daughters of the Moon by Lynne Ewing, Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling, The Enchanted Forest Chronicles by Patricia C. Wrede, Once Upon A Marigold by Jean Ferris, and Wicked Lovely by Melissa Marr. She's here - to stay. No matter what pain Quizilla puts her through.

Latest Journal Entry

How's my Summer been? Why, thank you for asking.

I know I haven't been writing in awhile.

Precisely, four months. I've been really busy. I've been at summer school for the past few weeks. Not remedial, but a radio class. It's been fun actually. I got to go on the air a few times, make a commercial, and record a few breaks as if I had my own radio station. I named it Solar Flare 98 - Female fronted rock from around the world.

Catchy, no?

And stressing about my road test. I had less than an hour of experience when I took it the first time, and needless to say I failed. Now I have almost 15 hours, and I just hope that’s enough. We'll know for sure after Wednesday. *sweat beads*

I will start writing again as soon as I can. Quizilla's reformatting has messed me up. I still want to put all the links to the banners I've made in all my stories, but it's overwhelming because there's so many I need to replace. I'm working on Heiress of the Sea, I thought I'd finish it by the end of summer, but alas, I was wrong. I'm writing another one-shot, but I stopped in the middle of it. I started writing a Tin Man one-shot in January, and I haven't even looked at it since then. New chapters of Lost Decadence and Eclipse of the Heart are either halfway or almost done. I don't know when I'll be uploading them though. But it's not like anyone reads them, so it's no rush.

My main purpose on the internet for the past few months has been making videos on Youtube under my Aravis17 account and hanging around the IMDB boards, under "A Great and Terrible Beauty" which was supposedly to come out this year, but they're not working on it. Which makes me mad. But I've made a lot of friends over there, and we always have something to talk about. My username there was solstars, but ever since my friend came up with Shebams *which means the amazing-ness of the girls on the boards there, me included!* I changed my username to sol_sheBAM_star. Much catchier, I think!

For those that don't know, A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray is the best book in the world. Better than Twilight or Harry Potter. YES I SAID IT!!! I love both of those series, but AGATB is by far better.

England. Victorian era. Corsets. Intrigue. Mystery. Magic. Other realms. Visions. Strength. Beauty. Cleverness. Archery. Poppy Warriors. Gorgon. Centaurs. Have I mentioned dreams coming true? Turning grass into kittens. Yeah, you can do that in the realms. Oh, and did I forget the sexy Indian boy??? KARTIK!!! *foams at mouth*

Why are you still reading this? Go out and buy A Great and Terrible Beauty. Followed by Rebel Angels. And thirdly, The Sweet Far Thing.

They are brilliant. Not to mention the bits of raw humor here and there.

Anyway, I have only a few pages to go and I'm done with Breaking Dawn. A lot of people are saying they hate it, but I find it brilliant. It's my favorite Twilight book. I don't see what the problem is. And they are complaining about the name Renesmee. It's not that hard! And they even sound it out in the book!!!! It's Renee Esme. Ruh-nez-may. Easy. And pretty.

Have I mentioned Summer Reading bites? Dracula was okay, but I had to take two
quotes from each chapter and respond to them (How can you relate?). Well, I drink human blood...just kidding. Now I'm reading "How to Read Literature Like a Professor." Sounds boring, right? It's actually pretty interesting and the author has a sense of humor, which helps. Then I have to write an essay on it *moans.* I'm never going to get any of my own summer plans done. OH, and after THAT I have to read The Merchant of Venice. Thank God I have the modern english version!

I shouldn't complain, my friend crystalblue06 has to read around 10, for english and history!!! I'm glad I'm not in private school anymore. Or AP. I'm in Honors English only. I need more of a challenge in my favorite class, and why create more work for myself in others when I'm going to be a pc/nintento/xbox/etc game designer? I'm concentrating on my computer classes.

Which means I have to take keyboarding, even though I already know how to type. Well, enough to get by. Hitting the backspace button is second nature to me, so I can still type fast even if I mess up. But I have to take the class, it's a prerequisite for the web design class I want to take *doesn't hurt to have a back-up plan in case the game design doesn't work out*

I'm glad I didn't start going out with either guy I thought I liked. I love summer, it gives me time to ponder. I've realized I was forcing myself to like one of them, and that really means I don't like him at all. And I should do what makes me happy. Although, once I tell him, he'll realize I was using him and think I'm a wh*re. Great, just what I need.

But there's a guy I met on the way to summer school who rides my normal bus, and he is perfect for me. He loves everything I do, tries to make me laugh, actually enjoys talking to me, and I think he likes me in the same way I like him. I'm very content. Hopefully we'll start going out soon. But apparently, like always, I'm going to have to encourage it. By asking him out. Yet again, girl asking guy. No one ever asks ME out. I don't understand that at all.

Well, a few weeks ago I finally saw Hellboy. It's so GOOD!!! I love it. I even took Katy Perry's "I kissed a girl" and changed the words for Hellboy. Yes, I did. When I like something, I get obsessed with it. Unfortunately, I can't go see Hellboy II, because I don't have my license, my mom doesn't like it, no one will take me, the usual excuses. Oh well, I'll be able to rent it!! Or buy it. Or get one of my sisters to buy it for me so Mom can't say no. *She thinks it's evil, but she doesn't realize he's a superhero that likes kittens. Lol*

Look, I've found new music!!!!

Danse Macabre by Camille Saint-Saens. It's beautiful and haunting. Classical

Nara by E.S. Posthumus. Flowy, reminds me of nature, druids, elves, the like. Very nice. Classical

Mein Herz Brennt by Rammstein. German, very severe vocals. Took me awhile to warm up to, but the instrument parts are very, very good. One song I actually enjoy head-banging to. Featured in a Hellboy II trailer. Symphonic Metal/Gothic Rock. *I think*

Anger by Elis. Tunes for chorus and bridge are catchy. Easy to relate to. Femme Metal.

Taste You by Auf Der Maur. First song I heard by this group, was very surprised by their sound. Their name is misleading. Good tune, again, easy to relate to. Femme Metal.

More femme metal that I've recently found and enjoyed:

I Am Calling by Angtoria.

Do You See Me Now by Angtoria *love this one!*

India by Xandria

Diabolic Angel by Bloodflowerz *love this one too!*

Deceiver by Stream of Passion

Butterfly by Tapping the Vein *childlike quality in the voice - still deciding if I like this one*

Voices In a Dream - Echoes of Eternity *and love this one!*

I apologize that this was so long. I'd be surprised if you're still reading.

Taking my leave,

Catty
