See? I take suggestions!

I thought those of you who previously gave me book suggestions might want to know how the whole book a week thing is coming along.
I'm a horrible slacker. Yeah. It's not entirely my fault that I've had to help with a baby shower over last weekend, or that my little sister got the flu the other day, but it was my fault that I wanted to watch my best friends at their drama practice and make the housework helping into a sleep over. So maybe I haven't been slacking... just... busy in a way that leaves little time for reading or *sobs violently and smacks self for being so lazy* writing. My mind has been in this state of blah over the past few weeks, and I haven't done hardly ANYTHING creative or artistic. It's like my real self went on this spontaneous journey, leaving my practical, hard working self to live on it's own. Terribly depressing. Although the spontaneous running off to do something adventurous sounds a whole lot like my true self, I need it to come back already so that I can be my whole self again; creative and hard working.

But here's a list of what I have accomplished in my reading so far. I've got a rating system of 1-5 stars to show you my opinion on them. 5 being the best, and 1 the worst.
Week 1: Jan 13-19; Maid Marian (Elsa Watson) *****
Week 2: Jan 20-26; Shirley (Charlotte Bronte) ****
Week 3: Jan 27-31; A Great and Terrible Beauty (Libba Bray) ****
Week 4: Feb 1-9; Woman in White (Wilkie Collins) ****
Week 5: Feb 10-16; Rebel Angels (Libba Bray) *****
Week 6: Feb 17-25; The Great Impersonation (E. Phillips Oppenheim) *****
Week 7: Feb 26-Mar 2; Sword of the Rightful King (Jane Yolen) ***
Week 8: Mar 3-8; By-week because I honestly got bored with The Truth About Forever. **
Week 9: Mar 9-15; House (Ted Dekker & some other guy I can't remember.) ****
Week 10: Mar 16-22; The Sweet Far Thing (Libba Bray) The first half I give ***** and all the stuff leading up to the end, I give *
Week 11: Mar 23-29; By-week because life was crazy & sickness prevailed.
Week 12: Mar 30-Apr 17; Uglies (Scott Westerfeld) *** (Would have given it more stars, but apparently there's at least two more books in the trilogy/series/whatever, and this one ended with a "WHAT?!?!? YOU CAN'T DO THIS TO MEE!!!" cliffhanger.)

Next book: Inkheart. I started this afternoon. Woohoo!

Yeeup. I see the fees as a way to support my local library. But I hate the fact that I'm late with my books. I'd rather just donate my dimes and nickles to them. I saw all the !!!s and I thought to myself, "ooo, somebody wild and crazy is posting on my journal! Woo!" I should have known it was you, Aoife. xP No, I haven't. I picked it up at the store and just kind of flipped through. The first chapter with the scarecrow talking about Elpheba was like "Dude... o.O Get a life."

secret-agent; Yeah, I'm trying to get Pretties from the library. At the end of Uglies, I was like, "WHAT THA--!! NOOOOOO!!! COME BACK!!!" xP It was quite dramatic. -stormcloud-; Ooo, it is!?!? xD Woo! It was a great book! I did read some of it late at night, and I'd be *reading... reading* *eeep!* *reading...* People have been telling me for ages to read Inkheart. It seems like my kinda thing. -rainonthewater-; I've got it on my list of books to check out. I need to catch up, though, because I keep getting late fees for hording five books at once and forgetting to renew them in time to read them all.
