Slight Retraction.

First of all: no I'm not coming back, FALSE ALARM continue on with your bizniz~~

I mostly came on here to clear up a few things.
I didn't plan on coming back here again but uhm. I can't sleep and no one's awake anymore and I thought this would be a delightful change of pace.

In my absence, I received several less-than-pleasant, shall we say, messages about my last journal entry. People took personal offense to that, and for that, I'm sorry. I never want anyone to feel bad about themselves or what they're doing. It isn't up to me to ridicule people's creative endeavors and I hope it didn't offend too many people. But I do have a point to get across and I plan on doing this in a mature, rational way.

I disapprove of what this website is doing to young girls.
Now some of you might think that this is, all in all, just a silly website, which it basically is. But children younger and younger are coming on here, and the more one peruses this website, the more it becomes apparent that this site is mostly about sex.
Not outright, of course. Most of the quizzes are '___ minutes in heaven and ___ trapped in a closet' and all kinds of other crazy things. Not to mention the stories which can, pretty much, have a full page of graphic sex.

I had to educate myself about sex; I did not get the talk from my parents until about...a year or two ago, sadly enough.
And like tons of other girls, the internet was pretty much my only resource.
I will be entirely honest with you: quizilla was the place to learn about sex. In my young age, the badly-monitored stories and quizzes were full of sexual dialogue that I had never heard, and this is where I obtained a lot of my information.
But it should not be like that.

The information on this site is just, well, wrong. Dead wrong. Before we begin on how wrong it is for girls to be seeing this, let's talk about how wrong it is in general.
Let's be honest. Most of the girls on here have never had sex, or a sexual experience. More than half have probably never had their first kiss.
So how do they know just how accurate the information they're spewing is?
Sure, everything's romanticized, who wants to read a story with what REALLY happens the first time you have sex? I understand that. I do.
But less informed girls don't.

First of all, this site is inaccurate. Girls, listen to me. Half of the crap on here is so fake and ridiculous, don't get your ideas from it. Perhaps the basics are covered, but as far as realism..well...
...that's left to be desired.
Girls should not be learning that they should have sex in a closet because someone was having a party. Really?
If a boy is willing to shove his tongue in your mouth two minutes into knowing you, let alone not even on a date, that's the kind of guy I'd stay away from, because he's clearly a psychopath. Let me clue you in, dear girls. Even just HUGGING on a first date can be nerve-wracking. You can't feel pressured to step into making out so fast. Real men aren't like that. They're nice to you. They're patient. They'll go slow and respect your boundaries.

Second of all, these people are young. Some of them as young as 11. Should they, in all honesty, be learning about sex slaves and all kinds of crazy things like that? When you hit the most recent button, isn't pretty much all you see about 'slave wanting master's and 'what wuld u do 2 me in a closet' and other, hyper-sexualized nonsense?
This place isn't healthy.
I am whole-heartedly ashamed of Quizilla and it's moderators. They say they'll stick to one thing, but don't. Their ads are targeted towards people probably 16 . Right next to this, right now is a picture of a girl and guy kissing in the shower. He's shirtless, she's in a bikini. Yeah. Real classy.

It's great to learn about sex...from reliable sources. To know what it's really like, when you're ready. You're all still children.

Why in the world would you want this ridiculous trash in your mind?

I can't even begin to tell you how...wrong everything is on here. And this is coming from OLDER people, who SHOULD know better but don't.

Newsflash: Edward Cullen is fake.

While this is clearly an obvious statement, I mean a lot more by it.

Let me express to you my disgust of Stephenie Meyer. Her characters are simply unbelieveable. They're not realistic, not for even fantasy creatures. And she has a whole generation of girls getting FANCIFUL LIES from her books.

Love isn't like that. Love is nothing like that. Love shouldn't be like that.

Boyfriends are just like everyone else: flawed. But they're not flawed in the way that they stalk you, or put you in harmful situations, or make you experience grueling emotional pain...nor are they clingy, overprotective, overbearing, or self-centered.

Edward Cullen, for all intents and purposes, is a joke. He's not real. He's this angst-ridden monster that's obsessive and clingy and stalkerish, dare I say it, I don't care. My ex was like Edward Cullen. Do you know why he's my ex? Because he was an angst-ridden monster that's obsessive and clingy and stalkerish.

So what a boy likes you and he's not CHISELED AND GLORIOUS. So what he won't stand outside your house in the middle of the night to protect you, or tell you he loves you right off the bat. Thank whatever deity you have that he DOESN'T. Relationships form over time...love forms over time. You don't immediately love someone. That's bullshit and you know it as much as I do. Love grows as your understanding and acceptance of the person grows. Just because a guy is beautiful and gives you flowers doesn't mean you love him or that he loves you. You'll know when you love someone. When you accept someone for their flaws, for their faults, and their weaknesses, and love from for their strengths, you love someone.

Okay?

So don't idealize the people around you. Everyone has flaws, and everyone has positives, and no one is perfect.

That being said:

Expressing your creativity is a marvelous thing. Don't let anyone take your dreams away from you. Writing is a great outlet for anything and everything. Writing was my coping mechanism for a long, long time. But writing is, well, generally fiction and you should take everything with a grain of salt. Writing is an art...please don't spit on that art if you know better. If you have the passion, run with it, and do with it what you will, just remember courtesy and truth.

I could post a whole different journal about writing and techniques and creating characters, but I won't. One finds out how to do that for themselves.

I hope this made sense. Again, I apologize for offending anyone and I hope I came off clearly. I honestly think this site is vile, so, that can't be changed. I hope it's a little less sexualized than I remember...and older people? Look out for the younger ones, kay? Help them learn the truth :D Not silly little lies.
