Here is a problem that ticks away at my mind every time I log onto this website, a problem that I am sure reaches far more than myself.

The issue is: my lack of readers.

I only have maybe twelve for Pretense of a Rose. The cool part, though, is that at least six people have messaged me just to say how much they love it, how they can't wait for more. =) Naturally, this makes me quite happy.

I am so proud that my work is seen as something good, here. What I'm waiting on is the recognition it deserves *feels stuck-up*. Come on, everyone! You've seen the lame stories that pop up on the Most Populat List or the Highest Rated! Many of them are not half the quality of the work that the rest of us unknowns provide.

We are ORIGINAL, we are GENUINE. We write not for pop culture ('A Vampire Kidnapped Me', 'All-Boy Camp', 'Insert-Song-Title-Here'), but for what we believe in!!! We carry messages! We carry the will to advance our skills! We carry the ability to sway minds and spark smiles in our words and prose!

I suppose that there is a bit of magic involved (not literally, of course) with those who get their stories read by hundreds of people, because I see no other way to rack up the votes like that. I'm just... depressed. If I cannot gain more readers to appreciate my work, then I fear I shall not continue.
