More Stuff That Drives Me Crazy
Only this time, it's not about quizilla. It's about certain people. I am going to rant... about vampires. I love vampire stories, and I love the idea that they might walk among us. (Thus, you can see me already a good way through The Vampire Lestat since I bought it yesterday.) BUT! Here's some stuff that miffs me.I am SO SICK of vampires having red walls, black furniture in nearly every quiz/story I read. STOP IT, PEOPLE! First of all, do you HAVE an original idea in your head?!?! And please? Not that many people would have red walls anyway. Granted, my room is fairly dark, the walls are a nice green color. But red? Come on. Red (studies show) makes people angry when they look at for too much time in a row, and really. I'm tired of this. I'm two steps from going postal on the next person who does it. Let's have some originality, you conformists.
Here's something else I hate: People who pretend to be vampires, even going to the extreme to drink blood w/friends, sleep in boxes, and cap their teeth. You're a vampire, or you are a human. (Or in some stories, you can be half-vampire, but anyway...) Pretending just because you think it makes you cool or special is stupid. And all of the people who do (I say all, I mean most, not speaking from experience) are just doing the exact same things as each other. It's annoying. BE a vampire fan, fine. But at least, if you're going to do that stuff, have some damn respect for yourself. Show some class, for pity's sake. Think for yourself. And seriously, how many vampires do you think go around SHOWING OFF what they are?!?
Last thing. I'm tired of vampirism in stories and stuff being about sex, sex, sex, violence, and revenge against the world. Please. Yes, vampires seduce to get to their prey, but COME ON. I'm SURE they do something ELSE. And personally, I see the vampire as an intellectual, one who sees the world in ways no human ever could, BECAUSE of his immortality and what he experiences. (He, She, of course, easier to just type he.) It's not about glory, or fame, or being 'better than everyone else.' It's about seeing life, okay? At least to me.
I'm done ranting. Agree/disagree, send me hate mail, I don't care. Bring it on. I want to hear it!
