Well, just like with my first ToS story, Kristen's ToS Adventure is getting a makeover, it'll be better then before. And I'd like to share those changes with you. ______________________________________________________________________ 1) I suppose I should first say that KToSA is no longer called KToSA, thanks to Kyasarin, or Tails-x/Vorbei, as she is known here, I have come up with new name name...Transcending Journey.
The name fits theme perfectly, and not just Kristen's story, but the entire ToS story as well. ...Transcending...to rise up and overcome, defeating all odds, that meaning suits their story well, don't you think?
So thanks again, Kya! ^^
______________________________________________________________________ 2) Now the next big thing, the beginning two chapters will be...different.
The first chapter doesn't really feature Kristen...well, it does, but not in way you'd expect. It's main focus is on the legend of the Holy Maiden, it'll have a prologue of how the whole thing began...a goddess, a crystal, and a brave young girl.
Then after the prologue is a little story about the last Maiden before Kristen comes along, Sanya. That part will also feature a little shape-shifting, fairy-like creature named, Emmika, she plays a very importaint role in the series and will be seen again later on.
Then the second chapter will feature more of Kristen normal Earth/American life...school, friends, family, and so on. Her best friend Amy will be making an appearance in this version as well.
It'll also be known that Kristen's home town is San Francisco, California. So if someone could give me some pointers on life-styles there, homes, school, even what people do for fun there. Anything you can think of would be nice because in a narrative sense, Kristen will be making a few references to her hometown and things she used to do there.
That's all for chapters, the rest you'll just have to read up on. You don't necessarily
need to read the first to chapters to follow the story, but it does help...a lot. One reason is because all the Maiden stuff won't be explain to Kristen for a long long time.
She won't even know she's the Holy Maiden till about chapter...5 or 6 I think, maybe later. But the story won't be explained to her till late late in the series, like when the group is in Tethe'alla...yes, that's how far.
So until she learns that secret, she's nothing more then a normal girl.
______________________________________________________________________ 3) Speaking of a normal girl, that brings me to another thing. Kristen won't be learning to use her Maiden powers till a lot later in the game, maybe after making the pact with Undine.
She won't even know how to use a bow at first, she'll have to learn...she'll grow throughout the series, and I think something like that would be nice for the readers.
Watching a character grow is pretty enjoyable if you ask me, it's like the reader is learning with them. don't you think so? ^^
______________________________________________________________________ 4) Character relationships are another important thing I need to discuss with you. Thanks to some very helpful advise from someone in ff.net, I found that in a lot of cliché OC/self-insert stories, the OC is pretty much friends with everyone.
But if everyone liked each other, then the story would be pretty boring, right? I mean, I think it would be interesting if everyone had people they liked and people they hated...it sounds realistic.
So that's what I want to do with Kristen. I need help picking out people she likes and dislikes...and vic versa with the group.
I'll be setting up a poll in a little while, so don't worry about answering here...though you could if you want to. ^^
Then after the results are in, I'll organize a relationship list for both sides, how each member of the group looks at Kristen, and how Kristen looks at each member of the group.
Some may be good, and some may be bad...it all depends...and each relationship will either improve or decline throughout the entire series. So it'll be quite interesting...
And suggestions would be nice too, I'll accept them at any point of the story, oh, and please note that this is NOT a love story, so don't base your vote or opinions off of that.
______________________________________________________________________ 5) One last thing...the storyline. Yup, I've made some changes to the ToS storyline as well, actually, more like mixed it.
You see, for those of you who read my original story, you would have noticed in the prologue chapter I noted that this story would be slightly different then most. Well, now I'm going to explain why...
This particular story will be a mix of both the Tales of Symphonia game, AND manga...yup, that's right, the manga. So the story may look a little odd to those who haven't had the privilege of reading the manga.
The Japanese comic version of the story is way different then the game in some parts, even the path they take after the Fire Seal, and Luin, even how Genis and Raine are revealed to be half-elves.
(
If anyone wishes to view the English translated version of the manga, please message me and I'll give you a link. It's not the whole thing, but it'll be enough to see these...differences I've been talking about. ^^)
So to make my story unique, I'm going to mix the facts of both game and manga versions...pretty neat, huh? I may even toss in some OVA if it comes out before I start posting. ^^
______________________________________________________________________ Hmm, that about covers it, if anyone else could thing of anything to add, then please let me know. Any kind of twist to the story would be awesome...uniqueness is key.
The reason I'm making such a big fuss over it is because I'm going to post this story onto FanFiction.net as well, and I want to get good reviews. It would bring tears to my eyes is this story could become one of the few popular ToS stories on ff.net.
So wish me luck, and I hope enjoy the new changes, I'm open to anything, new ideas would be splendid. Thank you for reading and please comment.
Later everyone!
