About Me

Hello one and all, my name is Colleen, aka TwistedPerspective. I, of course, love writing and do it all the time, just not always for the same story. I come up with some pretty unusual stories (though most will not end up on this site) and like positive feedback but I don’t really need messages to continue. I don’t write for popularity, I write because I love to. Hmm, what else? I guess if I would label myself (like most people seem to do in their self introductions) I would say I’m a first class loser/nerd/geek. I’m addicted to video games, especially survival horror, and have a weird obsession with the ghosts and zombies because of it. Don’t get me wrong though, I might lack friends and a life but I’m an incredibly happy person. I never get angry and am a huge sap. Tell me anything even vaguely sad or sweet and I’ll probably tear up. And that’s me in a nutshell, but you can never really understand someone through a few sentences, could you?

Uh...Long Time No See?

I’m soooooo sorry. Words cannot express how guilty I feel. I know I kept promising updates and I haven’t delivered. I managed to complete my summer homework and school has begun so obviously updates will be slow.

Truthfully, writing about The Assimilation Program has been like pulling teeth lately. I’m seriously hoping I’ve hit a minor dry spell and not something more…serious. For now, I shall say it’s on…not a hiatus but it’s been put on the backburner. Eventually it will be updated, I just don’t know when.

Vampires of the World is fine. I enjoy writing it so I’ve been doing it in my free time to…alleviate some stress. It will be updated pretty soon I suspect. If it’s not…sorry. School got in the way again.

The biggest problem is that I’m a senior now and that program I’m in requires that I do a massive senior project related to writing. I’m currently writing three different pieces, all of which are horror. In a desperate attempt to make this news a little easier to handle, I’ll tell you about them, alright?

1. Stagnant Woods

Some of you might remember that, I had it up on this site briefly after all. The story is about a girl and her deranged mother moving into a haunted town. It’s coming along fine at this point. I’m about fifty pages in, single spaced.

2. Untitled 1

Is about a distant future where the world has been wiped out by a nuclear apocalypse. The people who managed to survive have returned and have finally managed to stabilize life. A company that works in radiation management discovers a grizzly, muted race of former humans who live out in the wastelands. Once released, they cause terror. It’s the stereotypical action/horror piece. It’s being REALLY science-fictiony right now though, something I didn’t intend.

3. Untitled 2

Inspired by both an episode of Scare Tactics and Little Shop of Horrors, this story is about a couple on vacation stop at a little rest area at the side of the road only to be knocked out by the owner of the establishment. The guy is fed to the owner’s monstrous pets but the girl manages to strike a deal with the man, if he keeps her alive, she’ll help him find food for his pets. I’ve barely scratched the surface for this one but it’s been in my head for a long time.

So that’s basically the deal. I know it sucks and I don’t expect you to be sympathetic. I assured you on updates and I didn’t deliver; I’m basically a liar.

Sorry again.

Taurus

Ask someone else to arbitrate when you and a friend or family member start arguing -- a bit of objectivity can make things work. It might not be the result you want, but it's good enough to quell this little squabble.
