How amazing...and how much it's changed!! AHHH!! IT'S AMAZING!!!
<soooo cute. Wow.Wow wow wow wow.
I just got home from seeing Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (that's the fourth film...if you didn't know...lol) and let me just tell you....wow.
Absolutely unbelievable!!! I loved every minute of it. It was funny, witty, and then there it was dark...which was good because we all probably were ready for it to become darker and more scarier for the older fans sake. I'm really glad it was a PG-13 rating because then it probably sorta would lose it's appeal...because then that means that it's for the younger audiences too...I mean, people were worried that if they rated it a PG-13 rating that it'd lose it's appeal...no...not really. Only to the 10 and under audiences...or maybe 8 and under but otherwise, it'll just attract more older people because they'll see PG-13 and think that it's not like the first two (which were both brilliant in their own way, but were nothing compared to this one.
I'm not going to give a lot away in case those of you who're reading this haven't seen it (WHICH I SUGGEST YOU DO!!) but I'll say a few things. First, the beginning was really fast. It seemed like they wanted to cram the first 10 chapters of the book into 10 minutes and then once they were on the train it was just like, "Okay, so we'll take it easy and go slower now that we're at Hogwarts." Eh...i guess that was okay but I really wish they'd shown more of the Quidditch World Cup...seriously...that was an amazing scene in the book...but alas...it's a 735 page book and you can't fit everything in it...but they really did do a great job of trying to stay as true to the book as possible.
I remember going to see the first Harry Potter film back in 2001 on the first day at the matinee showing. I was in fourth grade (now eighth) and I thought it was the coolest thing. It was November 16 and I went to the 10:45 a.m. showing and got to skip school to go and see it...I was going to go for about 2 hours but we ended up having a fog delay so no go. My teacher found out that I went and was upset but who cares about that. Anyway, I remember going to see HPSS and you know the scene at the end when Harry's with Quirrel (he seems so old now...lol) and then Voldemort is like, "Let me speak to him." "Master you are too weak." "I'm strong enough for this..." blah blah blah and he takes off his turban and "O...MY...GOD...there's a fricken Voldemort face sticking out of the back of his head!!" Well...I remember closing my eyes for about five seconds because obviously I'd read the books and known it was going to happen but I wasn't sure as to how scary it'd be. It wasn't after you got over the innitial shock of his ugly face. But, I remember coming out of that theater completely awed by the whole movie and look at it now...there are four movies out and they're all complete masterpieces! And I'd just read the fourth book about 2 months before I think and I remember thinking..."Wow...just wait until the fourth book and Voldemort actually comes back and you see his full fledged body...I wonder how that'll be." Well, after four years of waiting...we finally see that scene and it was awesome... I just remember thinking four years ago what that'll be like and it's so amazing the four years have gone by and we already have three more movies out and that time has come to see Voldemort rise again.
When Harry got to the graveyard scene I started playing with my purse because I knew that Cedric would die soon and then Wormtail would cut his hand off and Voldemort would come, touch Harry, and then duel. But, I was most anxious for the scene where you finally saw what he really looked like. All my popcorn was gone because my two other friends and I had already aten it all...lol...and I had to go to the bathroom really, really bad beacause I'd bought a large Cherry Coke and whatdaya know? It was almost gone!!! AHHH!!! But, that scene was still so horrifyingly terrific that if this movie doesn't get some sort of Oscar nod (obviously not acting, I can truthfully say that even though all the actors have got soooo much better than the first, not that they were even bad in that one) for maybe Computer Animation or Makeup or Costume design...then i don't know what the world is coming to.
Well, it's been about exactly 24 hours since it's hit theaters here in Michigan and I've seen it, I've told you what I thought of it and now I'm going to bed. I really hope you all get a chance to go and see it because I think these movies just keep getting better and better with each one.

p.s. for those of you who are anxiously awaiting the next part of my story...I'll be posting tomorrow (or...today it you think about it b/c it's 12:11 right now...lol)
