Letter from Jess to Cassie, the second

Dear darling Cassie ...hello Seamus... please don't ever think you could "pollute" me! You're not diseased or anything, your general mopiness appears to not be catching! (besides, if I was going to be polluted, don't you think Kara would have done it by now?) (oh and BTW, you spelt poison wrong, dearie) Cassie, I... well I think I made my point in the last journal, no? Well, I just wanted to say... I'm sorry. For today. Today being that oh-so-happy Tuesday, where we began our glorious exams. When I finally got some good comebacks for Seamus. And said them out loud. And Malfoy and Fred laughed. So I suppose I'm apologising to Seamus too. Sorry Seamus. I'm sorry for possibly hurting your feelingses. I didn't mean... well, really I did, that's the point of hurtful retorts. But I wanted to be sure that neither of you hated my guts terribly... not that Cassie would say so. You'd probably pent it up in that... whatever. The emotional whirlwind? Cassie, don't let it carry you away. Please. I agree with you - Year 10 is terribly trying, what with those delightful exams this week, and all those extra curricular activities. But we'll get through! I promise we'll get through! And if you don't I will never, ever forgive you, until I do! Now you cheer up, you hear me, you stupid genius? Only think of how Ms Lawson would suffer if you didn't! ...okay, ignore that last comment. Only think how the lowly me would feel, if you weren't Cassie! Me needs a Cassie! Darling, cuddly, genius, brave, enduring, crooked pony-tailed, dramatic, witty, brainy, cuddly Cassie, if only you could see yourself through my eyes, and you'd see your blind spot: the beautiful you. Besides! you can't go all negative and fall behind on schoolwork, if I can't do a Nicole! Think happy thoughts - Thank God You're Here! Love always, Jess.
