A lot of you are asking why we need to change Quizilla at all. Basically, it's old and unstable. The coding behind the scenes has gotten to be such a mess that it's virtually impossible to fix some of the biggest bugs or add new features. And even though those of you who have really learned how to use the site are comfortable with it, there are tons of people who are not and who are having major problems using it.
We'd like to clear up a few misconceptions, and answer a few questions that have popped up a bunch in the comments:
- We’re planning on moving all of your content over -- especially all quizzes, stories, poems, and other stuff you created. That includes drafts, which will be moved over into your new drafts folder. It’s pretty complicated to move all this data and will take a while, but we’ll post more in the future about how that’s all going to work.
- The new site will also give you the ability to put all types of creations into folders, including stories. You’ll also be able to edit your creations after saving them. Try to remember that this is an early preview – there is a lot more stuff coming soon!
- Also, all of your profile information will be saved – it’s just not there yet. This includes friends, picks, watchlist and messages. Communicating with your friends, keeping track of their updates, and sharing content will all be much easier on the new site.
- We’re building a brand new theme engine that will allow you to theme every type of content, and use the same themes across multiple types of content. And it will be much easier to use. We know there are concerns about how much html and css you’ll be able to use, but we’re still working on exactly how the new themes are going to work. More details to come on that one.
Change can be hard to deal with, but in the long run Quizilla will be faster and easier to use. The preview site seems difficult both because it's new and because a lot of the features you love aren't there yet. We really want to hear your ideas for how to make the new site better, and we welcome your constructive criticism.
Remember that it is still a really rough version. Lots of features aren't working yet, but we wanted to give you all a chance to comment early on. Also, none of this is happening immediately -- we still have a lot of work to do and we'll give you plenty of warning before we make the switch.
We really want to help you all through the changes and address your concerns, so please keep reading the blog and sending your comments. We’re reading them all! We appreciate that Quizilla is an important part of your lives and hope to stay that way for a long time to come. So enough with the death threats, okay?

Although, I really admire you guys for reading twenty comments per page 122 times O.O That's time consuming. Are you all split into teams, and there's a group that handles all the comments, death threats, messages, and e-mail or something?@ 10:59 AM EST on Sunday, July 13, 2008, PokeRangerMelody said:
Death threats? That's just absurd. And yeah, we'll miss our little pencil monster ='(@ 5:37 PM EST on Saturday, May 17, 2008, KittenOfDarkness917 said:
im not here to send hate comments, just to voice some suggestions. this site should be more creative and not give in to the coporate world like myspace and stuff. this new site is really bland and confusing. i appreciate some of the things you're trying to do, but maybe you should have polls on what to change or how and see what we users have to say. we could work on fixing and modifying this site together, 50-50. you could have a suggestion box on the main page and take a poll for that idea. and we could have some fun too, like maybe the site could feature the home page of the week or whatever, just allow us to express our creativity please@ 6:41 PM EST on Tuesday, May 13, 2008, fanchick said:
I, like many other Quizilla users, prefer the old Quizilla. But I'm not going to complain about it; I probably just won't come on here very much anymore, at least until I get used to it. That being said, there are several things I do like about the new site. The first being the lack of the ridiculous "quizzes" on the Most Popular list. Half of them could hardly be described as quizzes and the other half could barely pass as such. So thank you for that. And secondly, I think that this version is easier to use. I like how the categories are always right at the top, and I don't have to go searching for the latest polls, for example. And I have one last thing to say to all the users here. Why are you all acting like children who just got your candy taken away and given an apple instead? Don't you realize that your complaints can hardly be answered if all you're saying is "i wanna have the old quizila! i miss it! it wa s so easy and fun ad i want it back!" Give real problems, please.@ 1:58 PM EST on Tuesday, May 13, 2008, weathersbri said:

i appreciate that you're trying to make the site better for us, but please stop. it's not what we want. everyone loves the old quizilla. all these new changes are making it worse. everything was just as easy to manage before. everyone is used to the old quizilla. we've grown to love it. so why destroy that? just leave it alone. no one needs to upgrades, because these upgrades are killing the site. please, leave quizilla alone.@ 9:41 PM EST on Tuesday, April 1, 2008, Iwilldie4uagain said:

why is everyone complaining about this?! The editors and staff are ydoing this for us and themselves also! you should be happy with what is there and they were briliant enough to think up a website to let people express themselves freely! now.obviously most of you are thinking the glass is half empty.Fixing the site and making changes is better than taking the whole site down...@ 2:01 PM EST on Monday, March 3, 2008, Saria1234 said:

I'm really looking forward to the new Quizilla, and I totally agree with what 'ParadiseInUrEyes' said: "My point of constructive critism: less is more. Keep it simple and don't go over the top with special features. Most people are here to read and write." ---- By the way, will homepages be saved and moved across, too? I understand how this is a difficult and hard-working process, so good luck with everything guys, I think you do a great job with this site!
