Who works in retail?!

I do!

Who hates commercial Christmas because of retail?!

That'd be me!

I've started my own journal, inspired by the customerssuck/_suck community (and my own thoughts), sharing my experiences--that way I can write and behave however I want without rules and accusations of Zorros (D:)...not that that's happened to me, but knowing me, it will if I actually post ON the community because I tend to have those kind of problems when I join forums and stuff like that...IDK why.

Anyway, if you're interested in a laugh or sharing my misery (feel free to comment, but haters will be blocked and trolls will be internet egged), come read my LJ (my LJ...let me show it to you): http://customers-r-suk.livejournal.com/

Help?

Grrrr.

I published a preview of "Dies Irae" and in the beginning, between the copyright notice and author's note and first chapter, it has some cryptic crap. Anyone know why? Or how to fix it?

Thanks!

It's my yearly visit :P

I still check this place once or twice a year....

I wish I was still able to conjure up stories like I used to. Now I'm so OC about it that I have to outline everything and make it perfect and by the time I'm ready to start posting I'm already burned out. I've had some serious writer's block for almost a year. It's really pathetic.

But, the good news is..."Dies Irae" is finally ready to be published as far as the story goes. I still have to do some formatting and...shit I don't want to type everything again....GO HERE to read about it being published and what I'm going to have to do in order to accomplish this.

In other news, "Dead Seed" is only a buck to download. I like doing these dollar week things...it's good advertisement :-) Only instead of just going on for a week, I'm keeping it a dollar until Halloween. That's over a MONTH, people. So enjoy.

Also, the closer it gets to Halloween, I'm going to take a couple bucks off the printed version, too. Do a coupon week or something, lol.

My website has been revamped btw: rvances.com

That'll about do it. See ya next year :P

New, revamped version of "Vampires Don't Exist" is NOW available

That's right! It's finished.

I decided to change the title even though I got a few requests not to. Not because I don't value you guys' opinion or anything, but because I received some good advice from other people. They believe I might be able to attract more people to the story if it has a fresh title. I do agree with them, but since I also respect my first fans, I left "Vampires Don't Exist" in the title, just beneath the new one.

VDE is now "Dead Seed." The new title is totally relevant to the story, so don't worry. The new VDE is now ready to be ordered by anyone. I don't guarantee the grammar/punctuation and writing style will be perfect (whose is?) but I do guarantee it's a lot better than the first edition put out and I'm sure all of you will love it.

Download price of only ONE dollar, but ONLY until Tuesday at Midnight (December 4th)! Also available in paperback and hardcover.

o.O I haven't been here in a while

Okay, so I can't send messages. I try and I get an "Error" telling me that a message is required...um...NO SHIT, SHERLOCK! I HAD A MESSAGE! *angerragefurysnarlspit*

So...yeah -.- I'm quite annoyed. I was able to put in a complaint somehow to the good people here at Quizilla BUT, no response back. I might have to resort to posting on the forums. I always look like a moron on the forums, though, so I'm kind of intimidated o.O

OH! I re-opened all of the Virgil Sequel to "Vampires Don't Exist" (VDE). It's called "The Rise and Fall of Grace" but if you haven't read VDE yet, don't bother reading the sequel because a) you won't understand what's going on and b) MAJOR spoilers. So, yes. And, remember (I also say it in the memo): this is an UNOFFICIAL sequel, meaning it's not a REAL sequel. IF I make a VDE sequel, it will be nothing like this. This is strictly for Virgil fans.

Oh, and if anyone wants to download a copy of VDE it's only a dollar ($1.00) until September 24th. I decided to run this thing called Dollar Week to get more people interested in and buy the book. Click here to download for $1.00

Let's see...what else?

Has anyone seen the "Leave Chris Crocker Alone" video by Seth Green? I found it quite hilarious and recommend you finding it on youtube. Yes, he is making fun of the poor SOB, but, when you post such a dramatic video for EVERYONE and their grandmother to see, you're gonna get made fun of. Even the gay guys bash him, saying he's making all gay people look bad. One of my best friends (who is gay) also makes fun of him, so please don't whine to me about "poor Chris Crocker;" I have no sympathy for him. He contradicts himself and kind of pisses me off...he IS funny, though. I have to give him that.

Mkay, I supposed that's it for now. Just wanted to let you know about the no message sending and that I re-opened RaFoG.

Take care, everyone!
Peace!
R. Vance

p.s. I'm now on Yuwie, so if you have an account, add me :-)

Eclipse is out! (no spoilers, don't worry!)

NO SPOILERS! DON'T WORRY!

I just bought the third book in the "Twilight" series, "Eclipse." I'm on like, chapter 6, I think. So far, it's really good, but Bella's kind of annoying. She didn't annoy me too badly in the last two, I mean there were a few moments, but I could mostly relate to her, but in this one, I just kind of want to smack her :-/

But, I'm really excited :-) I've been waiting for this book for a long time now, and I will just as anxiously await the arrival of the fourth (and final--for now) book, I think it will be called Breaking Dawn or something like that, I don't know, I have to check the website again.

On a different note: Oklahoma kind of sucks in the summertime. It's been over 100 degrees for like a week straight now and the humidity is pretty high and my room gets super hot for some reason. I guess, maybe because when the sun sets it shines right through my window and heats it up like a freakin' oven. I can't wait for fall. Because of all the rain we've had this year, we have more bugs outside than usual (and I live near a creek with a huge field behind my house so we've had a lot anyway), so the bugs are drawing a ton of frogs into the ponds around my house and the frogs are coming up to the house and living in our gardens and stuff and now snakes are coming up to eat the frogs. We had two snakes in our yard today. I love snakes, I'm not afraid of them or anything, but my mom freaks out about them. In addition to all this, we also have scorpions coming into our house. I hate those bastards! One stung my sister a few months ago and she said it was the most painful thing she had ever experienced.

Grr...

I need Fall to get here.

Words from a Darkened Heart: a collection of poems

I told you guys it would be ready by August 1st! I'm glad I could keep this promise. I have released my first collection of poems since I'm taking FOREVER finishing "Dies Irae." It's my little way of apologizing and thanking you all for waiting so patiently, so THANK YOU!

You can download this 48 page collection for a small fee (and, remember, with downloads, you don't have to pay shipping), or order it in paperback; whatever floats your boat.

This collection also features two poems from my book, "Dies Irae" and a few others that are based off or inspired by my books, "Vampires Don't Exist" (also available from lulu.com) and "Dementia" (no release date yet).

So, for order information, click the picture below and enjoy!

Description:

A collection of mostly dark poems, conceived in the mind of the author of "Vampires Don't Exist."
This book holds several different genres, including: Paranormal, fantasy, horror, love and heartbreak, which means there's something for everyone in this collection.
Not every poem has a rhyme pattern; some are free verse, though still deep and weave a web of emotional connection with the reader.
If you're a lover of poetry, this collection is probably for you. If you hold an interest in the macabre, this collection is definitely for you.

Thanks for taking the time to read!
R. Vance

This Crazy Weather

It's hot and humid, today, folks. Oklahoma City in the summertime is unpredictible and, at times, unbearable. But it's also a pretty cool place to live. There are a lot of stories of hauntings here in the Sooner State. I'm going to be researching those stories soon because the paranormal is a little obsession of mine.

My sister is hard at work, getting that book cover ready for me. I think it's going to look pretty sweet. In the "cool" sense, not the "sweet, puppies and kitties" sense. So, the poem collection will be ready by the end of this month.

Short but sweet, let's keep it that way.
R. Vance

As always, my book is available from LuLu.com.
"Vampires Don't Exist": the new obsession of any reader of horror. Available in print or download from the above link.

My Poetry Collection

I just finished editing my poetry book last night and adding the final information to the last pages. All that needs to be done is the cover art, which my sister kerahatespenguins is working on. My poems are categorized under several different topics, including Dark Fantasy and Paranormal, Horror, Love and Heartbreak, and much more. Included with the poems are little blurbs typed underneath the categories.

This book will be available by the end of the month (July, 2007) by Lulu.com.

"Vampires Don't Exist" now available for only $6.25

"Vampires Don't Exist"

We've been told this since we were young, “Vampires don't exist”.
... in this story they do.
A young woman, Aralyn, discovers the truth when she, sick of life, tries to commit suicide and is instead rescued by a vampire (if it can truly be considered "rescued") and taken to a mansion full of them.
Aralyn finds herself thrust into a world of domination and torture when the Master claims her as his own. If she does not obey his every command he punishes her in ways that have been considered "sick", "twisted", and evil.
There is only one that Aralyn knows she can trust. One who has promised her a way out. But the Master soon finds out their plan...
Will Aralyn escape his monstrous clutches? Or will she be forced to live with him for eternity as one of his own...and the mother of his child?

Pretty-Scary.net review:
"The plot- a young woman kidnapped by vampires and forced to live as a sex slave to their master, and who is ultimately brainwashed into falling in love with him and bearing a child- is, in my humble opinion, a nice change from the usual same-old, same-old vampire stories." -- Ash Arceneaux

Reader Reviews:
"This book is completely amazing. It takes the reader inside the heart and mind of a vampire. You develop sympathy toward characters that should have no reason for it at all. Love for treachery. A very detailed story that pulls you right in, and as the plot progresses it will make you emotional. If you love to read about vampires, BUY THE BOOK!" -- Melanie G.

"This book is absolutely the best book ever. It combines fantasy and reality. In the end you really believe. Vampires DO Exist." -- Mariya G.

Order "Vampires Don't Exist" NOW!
(Available in print paperback for 16.88, OR download as an ebook for only $6.25 --final price--)
(NOT sold in stores. This book was self-published)

I have a new story and I need YOUR help

Okay, I'm writing a new story called "The Chamber" (nothing to do with lawyers, nothing to do with John Grisham, fyi) and a lot of people are reading it, but hardly anyone votes. The people who DO vote think it should be on the Highest Rated. Now, you all know I'm not a vote whore. I don't beg for HIGH votes. I just want everyone to vote so that the story has a fair chance. I mean, if they don't vote, there's no chance it's going to make the H.R.

That's just not fair, lol.

SO, I'm leaving a link in a sec, please do me a BIG favor and go read the new story and give it a vote (whatever you think it deserves).

Yup, yup. That's all, I guess.

Oh, and I re-released VDE on that other account too. The whole story is going to be posted. I'm on chapter 12 now. So, go read and vote those too.
