I got my part in the trio!
Hard work always pays off. After full attendance and always doing advance preparation before showing up for rehearsal, yesterday our choir director chose me as one of the six members of the choir to form the trio that will perform two extra songs:
- The Lass From The Low Countree: Adaptation and Additional Verses by John Jacob Niles; Arranged by John Purifoy
- Someone to Watch Over Me - Music and Lyrics by George Gershwin and Ira Gershwin; Arranged by Jay Althouse
Now I have to work extra hard to get everything right before we even meet to study the songs, but our trio get to visit our director's home and have tea there to do extra rehearsal for these songs. This also means I may have to cut down my swimming practice but the good thing is that I am already thinking of what to wear when we perform in public at St. Paul's Anglican Church on June 5th! Call me vain, like I really care.
