Unexpected
That was unexpected last night... I was in an awesome mood when Adam came to pick me up, and he said he was stressed or whatever, so I bugged him about it when we got home, and he was basically telling me he has no aspirations to be a family man, and that he wants to go to college/university to study either genomes or astrology: essentially telling me he has to choose between education and me. It was pretty much heartbreaking. On the one hand, I can't tell him what to do with his life, but on the other, I don't want to lose him! After much deliberation and talking, we agreed not to break up, he agreed not to leave me for a career where there's no job availability (we're currently talking about perhaps becoming humanitarianists... he seemed interested), and we'll talk family (kids and such) when it actually becomes relevant.. you know, when I'm not seventeen. (Don't get me wrong on that last bit, I wasn't telling him to have kids with me now, it's just having kids is something I'm not willing to compromise on in the future).So everything seems to be going fine now, it was just completely heartbreaking at the time, and totally out of the blue. Hopefully we can stay on the same page and stop letting things get out of hand.
