Congrats on Being Irrelevant Dear Emos

Hey, I'm Kels.
First blog entry ever. I feel pretty special. So I'll say a little about myself. I'm from a small hick town in the middle of no-where that is currently the site of a native land claim occupation. It was here that I had my first real interest in conflict and violence resolution. I plan on getting into human rights so I can make sure issues like that are solved properly. I am a Psychology student at an amazing university, and plan on going to law school once I'm done my undergraduate. If my marks aren't high enough, then graduate school for Psychology where I will begin my studies on conflict resolution. I have a messed up family, but we love eachother, who doesn't? Seriously, I bet everyone on this site whines about it continuously. I have a great boyfriend who is although always caught up in hockey, always has time to make me smile. And amazing friends here at school.
I'll be pretty honest, at home I don't get along with people. I was a kid who was bullied and cried saying "no one understands me, boohoo" But I grew up because frankly, thats life. If you can't handle what spineless children dish out yours not going to last five seconds in the real world.
I noticed on this site that everyone is turning EMO? Why is it cool to be a prep? and why is it suddenly cool to be an EMO kid? I dont understand this. One is a self centered stuck up bitch, the other is a kid who is a self centered whiner. Neither are all that great. Both are pretty retarded. So what your life sucks. Do something about it. Get off your royal high razor and whip off the tears. Your getting bullied and no one cares? Then how about you toughen up and fight back. Teachers get you in trouble? High school is worth nothing in the real world. God I'm glad I'm done that. Parents grounded you from a concert? Wake up and get a job so you can pay for it yourself, economy is in limbo children, get with the program, like sucks for everyone.
Here's my question to you. Would you rather be a kid who lets face it, is in a school that has a good educational program, your literate, your family doesn't beat you half to death every night and even if your family did love you, everyone is trying to kill you, you have food around you, you have warm clothes and a bed, you dont need to be afraid of things like men with machetes, guns around every corner, and lets not forget about all the child and women slave trades! Do you even comprehend what is out there? I understand everyone knows about the world, I should hope. But can you seriously comprehend what goes on out there? Even in Europe, and some places in the states problems exist like this. In Canada there are certain native rez that have no clean water and no money to fix it because the rich native families squander the money on cars and weapon and drug trafficking. You think your life sucks because of a few snobs? Grow up. There are kids all around you being sexually assualted by family members and moving on with life, even if they get no justice, they keep going and they don't complain. There are families out there that are so broken no one talks about it, yet they keep on with their lives and even take the time to give and help other people. This rant is coming because I am so SICK and tired of reading the lyrics and poetry of spineless little children who can't seem to grasp the fact that life is good. You get one shot at it, and your going to throw it away? Stop hating school and actually do something with your life. Maybe if it was all taken away from you one day, and you were placed in a third world country such as Haiti, Dominican, South Africa, Afghanistan or even places such as Zimbawe, then maybe you would apprciate the things life has to offer.
I was told a story by my brother. He is painting a picture of a nightmare that one man has told him about. A giant rat torturing him. At first I had a good laugh until I found out what it is truly about.
This man suffers post traumatic stress disorder. He suffers nightmares that give him real pains about rats. Why the rats? that was my question. He is a refugee from Haiti and has seen things that I can't even understand or want to understand. Fathers being forced by gunmen to rape their daughters, children being shot dead on the street, women being sold away. And dead bodies everywhere being eaten by rats bigger then any ordinary sewer rat in North America.
And then I come on to this site to find some Emo kids telling me through their music how much life sucks.
Congrats, you are now officially irrelevant to the rest of the world.
