Always up or down, never down and out.
A week with a lot of ups and downs..
Sunday Up. Weekend Bruges changed into weekend Antwerp, but it’s finally settles. 17-18 January, Heist-op-den-Berg. Looking forward to spending some quality time with mom. It’s the weekend after my next exam and right before my internship starts, so I can probably use the relaxing =).
Monday Down. Useless classes. Internship declined again, causing me trouble cause I had to give up my choices that day. A lot of mailing with the coordinator, but not good. Pretty much on the verge of tears of frustration/crushed ego.
Tuesday Up. No classes. Christmas shopping: gifts for my parents, grandparents and sister. Treated myself with the new FOB (Folie à Deux, plugged in right now, falling in love all over again), an old Muse (Absolution) and a copy of Twilight. I was never into the whole hype (that’s what you get for living in Belgium), but it spiked my interest nonetheless, so I decided to buy a copy when my eye fell onto it in the book store. Relief over my English class, since it was finally the last time. Mail from Victoria, always able to brighten up my day =).
Wednesday Up higher. Classes were pretty useless again (I would actually like to learn something for a change), but at least they were over quickly. Solution for the transport problem to the FOB concert, so my friend ordered tickets. Absolutely excited about that, even though it’s still three more months (23 March). I’ll probably hate myself the next morning, cause it will be a very short night (and I’m not a morning person at all, so this is gonna hurt), but I know it will be worth it.
Tuesday crashing deep down. Third internship in a row that gets declined. Annoyed because the reason (we can’t use you when you only come for ten weeks, we want someone who’ll be here at least sixteen weeks) is bullshit in way, yet I can understand why they say this. Frustrated cause I want this thing arranged before Christmas break and it doesn’t seem like it is going to turn out that way. Mad because it looks like I will be stuck with the leftovers that the other students didn’t want. Sad because all these declines make me feel like I’m not good enough. Feel like doing nothing
Friday Up once again. Gone to my internship interview with not much hope, but coming out with a huge smile on my face. I guess I haven’t stopped smiling since 11:30 AM today =). Reason: “Think about what project you want to know and then just let me know if you are interested. You are definitely welcome here.” Talk about an ego boost =).
Plus Christmas break is finally here. Two weeks of relaxing and doing fun stuff. Movie day. Christmas. New Year’s Eve. Clouseau Crescendo.
Plus I got to early Christmas gift today. My best friend gave me this beautiful silver bracelet, just to thank me for driving her to school everyday. And the lovely Victoria wrote me an amazing story. Really, thank you so much girl! I couldn’t stop smiling when reading it. You are totally amazing sweetie, I love you heaps! Oh, and btw: TAI’s Bulls in Brooklyn, right? Lol.. (btw, I just realized I do the same thing =p)
Looking forward to… Christmas. New year’s. Clouseau. Time to write/read again. Time to relax. Movie Day. Weekend in Antwerp. Internship. Fall Out Boy.
Always up or down
Never down and out
Dream of demons while you sleep
That make you stutter when you speak
Speak now or forever hold your peace.

Dear, dear diary, I want to tell my secrets
Update time..
It’s been almost a month since my last journal update, I haven’t been on the world wide web that much lately.
So what have I been up to?
College.. Reading articles. Going to classes. Making/Giving presentations. Writing a research proposal. Making appointments for interviews about my internship (new developments in cancer immunotherapy?) after the Christmas holidays. Almost fainting after getting a TBC test during my medical examination (yes, I am a sucker when it comes to giving blood or getting intradermal injections). Finally getting graded on my exam of last month: 14/20. Yes, I’m happy happy =).
Soccer.. I mentioned that in my last post. I shouldn’t have gone: bad game, sitting in the cold and getting soaked by the rain. They didn’t even win: 1-1. I wish I could go back to the days where cheering them on was still fun, no matter how cold or wet it was.
Shopping.. Found an outfit for New Year’s Eve and one for New Year’s Day. Next on my list: Christmas gifts.
Weekend of trips.. Or that was the plan. Antwerp turned out great: visiting some nice bars and laughing a lot. Visiting Winter Village would have been fun as well, but got cancelled: ten centimeters of snow isn’t the ideal state of the road to take a drive.
Movie Weekend.. Last weekend. Madagascar: I like to move it move it =). This one stays fun no matter how many times I watched it. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest. Finally got a chance to see it and loved it. Johnny Depp is definitely one of my favorite actors ever. Le Fabuleux Destin d’Amilie Poulain: one of the best I have seen in a very, very long time. It aired way too late, but still was able to capture me from beginning to end. Planned for Christmas break: Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End, American Beauty, What’s Eating Gilbert Grape.
Music.. Went to see Milow again on Wednesday: Amazing! He gets better every time =). Listening to Greatest Hits Top 1000 2008 almost non-stop this week: Gun’s ‘n Roses, U2, REM, GooGoo Dolls, Metallica, Nirvana, Beatles & Stones, Celine Dion, Bon Jovi, Coldplay, …, they’re all in there. Number one should be announced around the clock of six. I’m putting my money on Bryan Adam’s Summer of 69 (would be fifth time in a row). Also looking forward to the Clouseau concert (Clouseau Cresendo) on 20 December, which should be amazing as always. And thinking about going to see Fall Out Boy next March.
Reading.. I finally finished Sophie’s World last week and liked it very much. I also caught up with Breanna’s story, which had a great sweet ending. Go check her out on FireUpTheSystem! Next on the list are the rest of Breanna’s updates, Laura’s (cigarettesandlies) Ryan Ross sequel and Goddamn days on a Goddamn Globe by Dimitri Verhulst.
What am I looking forward too?
Christmas Break. Christmas. New Year’s. Clouseau. Fall Out Boy? Time to write again. Requested one shots (yes, this is a hint sweethearts =) [you know who you are] ). My internship. Weekend in Bruges. …

And I hope you will talk to me until...
That's right, I posted a new one shot today. Again about Brendon Urie. I'm pleased with it and curious to hear what you guys think.
It took me a while to write this, cause I have been busy lately. And now that it's finally finished, I'm announcing that it's my last fan fiction one shot for a while.
I have some more ideas, but they are going to be original stories. First there will be a one shot based on the song Brown Eyes by Destiny's Child. Then there will be a short original story called Dreams of Loving You.
Like I said, I have been busy lately. And like in my last post, it was basically college that kept me so busy. I had to do a lot of presentations and classes were long and boring. And in between, I had to study for my exam, which was last Friday. It was a big one, counting for 20% of my final grade, so I although I wasn't nervous at first, I was by the time I got my questions. But, things turned out to be not that difficult, I think I can honestly say I did okay. And after that is over, I have had four days off of college, which I really enjoyed.
I'm expected back in college tomorrow, but my next exam won't be until 19 January, so for now I'm mostly relaxing.
What else did I do except for studying?
Reading.. I mentioned in my last post that I was reading Sophie's world. I still am. I didn't have that much time to read, but I caught up on it yesterday and I'm a little over halfway through it right now. I'm still enjoying it very much and I feel like I learned a couple of things.
Cheering.. When I heard Obama won the elections. I'm normally not interested at all in politics, especially not foreign politics, but this was different. This was something not only affecting America, but the entire world. I watched CNN all day on Tuesday, but with America being at least six hours behind in time zones, I still knew nothing when I went to bed. But off course, the first thing I heard on Wednesday morning was the good news. I can't really describe how I felt, so let's just say that I feel very, very happy.
Concert.. I finally went to Milow's concert on Friday, I have been waiting for that forever. But it was definitely worth the wait, cause the whole concert was fucking awesome! I couldn't stop smiling the entire night. I love his voice, I love his stupid jokes and stories between songs, I love the fact that he played his last couple of songs in the middle of the audience, I love how is down-to-earth enough to not spend his time backstage, but just play some pool in the bar of the venue with his musicians. One of the best concerts I've been to. I might even go and see again next month =).
Out for drinks.. Caught up with some friends on Saturday and we all went out for cocktails. I hadn't seen some of them in quite some time, so it was really nice to talk to them again. We laughed, we had fun.. It was a good night.
Out for dinner.. Since some friends and I want to got out to dinner on New Years Eve, we decided to check out the restaurant we wanted to go to. All I can say is: count me in, cause I really enjoyed the food. And the company off course =).
Watching movies/tv.. Since I had nothing to do yesterday and today, I tried to catch up with some series I'm following. I watched House, which I really enjoyed (how can someone not find that guy funny? =)) and I caught up with One Tree Hill. Still two episodes behind on that one, but I'll probably watch those somewhere this week, hoping there will be some more action in those ones. I miss the action on One Tree Hill! And I also watched 27 Dresses and I enjoyed it very, very much. It's a totally predictable chickflick, but that's just the way I like it. Plus I love to watch Katherine Heighl play.
Making appointments.. Like I said, planning things for New Years and thinking about seeing Milow again. And I finally found time to get a haircut, cause my hair (especially my bangs) is in desperate need of one.
What's next?
Not that much really. Going to a soccer match on Saturday. Going to a Clouseau concert in December. Going Christmas shopping somewhere in December. Writing. Watching some more movies. Can you believe I bought American Beauty a few months ago and I still haven't watched the dvd? Well, you better, cause it's true.. Same story for What's Eating Gilbert Grape..
That's all I can come up with right now.
And pride isn't something that this is about
I shouldn't care, shouldn't care
But I do and that's sometimes too hard to bear

We'll join the dreamers and renegades...
College has been keeping me busy lately. I don't have that much classes (only Monday, Wednesday and Friday) and yet I can't seem to get around it. Reading lots of articles, making assignments, giving presentations.
The annoying thing is that I want to learn something, but I haven't. Not really. Everything seems just a repeat of the previous three years.
So I guess it's a good thing that my first exam of the year is coming up. Just three more weeks. November 7th to be exact. Unlike previous years, I don't really know what to expect this time. And unlike previous years, I'm not nervous at all. Other years, I would get some sort of panic attack about three weeks before every exam, but not this time. I just want to get it over with. And good or bad, I'll be at Milow's show two hours after finishing the exam.
In the scarce free time I have, I picked up on reading. I have been writing. I went shopping. I went to some sort of play/concert. I had a family party. I listened a lot of music.
Reading. I started Sophie's World. It's a novel about the history of philosophy. It's easy to read and yet not that easy, just the way philosophy is supposed to be. Making you read an alinea twice because you didn't understand it the first time. Making you think about the questions the main character gets asked. Making you step outside your own usual thoughts and exploring new insights. I really like what this book is doing to me and my little mind. After this, I'm starting One hundred years of solitude (Gabriel Garcia Marquez) and Goddamn Days on a Goddamn Globe (Dimitri Verhulst
Writing. As you may have noticed, I finally finished my Chad Michael Murray story. I'm especially pleased with the way the epilogue turned out. Thanks for all the sweet messages! Next up will be another Brendon Urie story. It's gonna be a little different from what I've done so far. After that, I don't know. I might take a little hiatus from writing.
Shopping. I finally found a winter coat. It took me an entire day to find it and it isn't the one I wanted, but it looks a lot like it and it was way cheaper, so I'm really pleased with it. It's on it's way of becoming my new favorite piece of clothing.
Play/concert. My friend won tickets for this play/concert. It was kind of a tribute about a Dutch singer who died a couple of years back and it was a monologe mixed with someone singing the most know songs of that singer. The performance itself wasn't spectacular but I had a good time, mainly because of the company. Once again I noticed how amazing my friends are.
Family party. Yesterday afternoon/evening. My mom's aunt and uncle celebrated their golden wedding anniversary and they took us all out to dinner. I really enjoyed it. Dinner was delicious, company was fun. Grateful that we were able to do this: it's gonna take more than cancer to take this family down.
Music. Been listening to a lot of things recently. Rediscovery of Blink 182, fell in love with Rock Show all over again. Discovery of The Academy Is... It's hard not to stumble upon these guys when you listen to FOB and Panic. So I gave them a try and I got pleasantly surprised. Unable to pick a favorite song, there's just too many great ones. Listening to Milow over and over again. Born in the 80s is probably my favorite song, along with his Ayo Technology cover. Browsing in my mom's old record collection. So far I only got a chance to listen to the Beatles' Greatest. We can't play vinyl at home, so I have to go to my grandparents every time I want to listen, but it's been worth it so far. Not their best record, but definitely a good one.
As I take a peek on the to-do list laying next to my laptop, I see there's still a whole bunch of work. Most of my time the next couple of weeks will go to preparing for my exam. And maybe looking for a job for the weekends. I don't really know yet. And thinking about a new hair cut. I'm in need of one, but I want something different. Not sure what yet. We'll see, we'll see..

One Million Billionth of a Millisecond on a Sunday Morning
Finish reading tropic of cancer - cancelled
Finish my running schedule - cancelled
Pay tickets for Milow's concert - check
Buy tickets for Clouseau's concert - check
Arrange and pay tickets for ballet - in progress
Buy Rubix Cube - check
Buy coat I fell in love with in the right size - in progress
Mentally prepare myself for college (insert dramatic sigh) - check
So, as you can notice above, I gave up on both Tropic of Cancer and running. The book because I couldn't find the time to read it and the running because I don't plan on getting a cold from running in the rain. I might pick up both things again next spring or so.
I finally paid my tickets to Milow's concert and I'm really looking forward to November 7th. It will be the 3rd time I see him live this year. first time in an small theatre instead of a big outside venue, so I'm curious what it is going to be like.
I also managed to get really good places for Clouseau's concert. Another thing I'm looking forward to. This will be the 8th time I'm seeing them live in 5 years and they have never disappointed me so far, so I'm sure I will have a blast in December. Tickets have been paid, now I'm just waiting for them to arrive.
Not sure wether I'm going to the ballet or not, still waiting to hear from some friends. I would like to though, since it was beautiful last time I saw it.
I bought a Rubix cube and I can fix it in about five minutes. I'm getting good =). Didn't find time to buy my coat yet, but I'm hoping to be able to check the stores next week.
College has started three weeks ago. It has been a little crazy and hectic, but not really interesting. Already looking forward to Christmas break. After that, just two more weeks of classes and then I can finally start my internship and my optional courses. Really, really looking forward to that!
No new to-do list, cause with college I probably won't finish it anyway. I'm taking life as it comes right now. Instead of a to-do list, a shout out to Jen, Anna, Saskia and everybody else who read my Chad Michael Murray Story:
I know it has been ages. I don't even remember why I stopped writing that story. I guess I just needed a break from it, so I started writing one shots and that could a little out of hand lol.. But I opened my Word again recently and I have been working on it for the last couple of weeks. The epilogue is finished =). Now I just have to write chapter four, which comes before the epilogue, and then I'll throw everything online. Don't ask me why I wrote the epilogue first, cause I have no clue myself. I just did. Anyway, planning on writing that last chapter somewhere during this week. If I have time between classes that is. So I'm not making any promises here, but I'm doing my best to get it online as soon as possible.
I turn my t.v. on and watch the fuzz
The sun scrapes away the first layers of the day
Nothing is meant; this is a beautiful accident
This could be the sunrise, or I could be wrong

Science Tunnel was fun. Getting paid to do pretty much nothing is always fun I guess. Sitting around, getting to know new and interesting people, laugh a lot. And mostly: solve Rubix Cubes. I'm kind of hooked right now and I went to buy one for myself today. Turned out they were sold out in every store in town. So much for thinking I was the only geek who had an interest in such things.
My laptop is finally rebooted and working properly again. Still need to install I-tunes and Photoshop, but at least I got everything else fixed before college starts again.
And I started writing on the Ryan Ross one shot. Watching the VMA rerun yesterday gave me inspiration in a weird way. And learned me that the TMF awards are going to be so much better!
My best friend's birthday party was a week ago yesterday and it was amazing! Her face when we arrived at her place was priceless! Great food, great company, what more does a person need to have a good time? No wonder I got home at 3:30.
Got the pictures on Thursday. Crazy, sweet, cute... But mostly crazy lol.
Went to KörperWelten on Tuesday. Had a little trouble finding it, but it was worth it. A little disappointed that the corpes didn't really looked real anymore, but that's probably because I'm used to a lot more in anatomy class. Besides that, amazing exposition!
New To-Do List
Finish reading tropic of cancer
Finish my running schedule
Pay tickets for Milow's concert
Buy tickets for Clouseau's concert
Arrange and pay tickets for ballet

Maybe this year sill be better than the last
I can't remember all the times I tried to tell myself
To hold on to these moments as they pass
And it's one more day up in the canyon
And it's one more night in Hollywood

Oh girls... They wanna have fun!
Too much wodka in too little time, resulting in some crazy photos...
I am going to regret this in the morning, but at least I had fun =).
Friend of a friends birthday party turned out a lot better then expected. I really should go out with these girls more often.
Last couple of weeks were great, with tonight as one of many highlights.
Notes from this morning:
Not feeling as bad as expected.. Just a little sleepy.
Second summer job starts tomorrow and ends on Thursday. Only planned guiding on Tuesday, I wonder what the rest of the week is going to bring. Money for just being there would be great..
Best friends birthday party next Saturday and still planning. Can't wait to see her face..

Here in this diary..
A/N: I have been trying to post a new journal update for a while now, but it doesn't seem to be working in IE. Thought I'd give it a try in FireFox. This is what I wrote on Friday:
This is like the tenth time I'm trying to post a new journal, so let's hope it is working this time..
What's been going on since my last post ?
Life's just been a little crazy..
It all started with recieving my Bachelor Degree. I'm officially Bachelor in Molecular Life Sciences now and pretty damn proud of it. Just two more years to go and then I'll recieve my Master Degree. And now matter how strange it may sounds, I'm really looking forward to the next two years of college, because after my first internship this year I realised how much this is exactly what I want to do with the rest of my life.
Anyway, after recieving my degree I have been doing a ton of things. I went to by ear rings with a gift certificate I got for my 21st birthday. Iwent two BBQs because two of my friends turned 21. I went to a party because another friend turned 23. I went to Werchter Boutique and got to see James Blunt live, among others. I went to Marktrock and had one of the best days of my life. I went out with friends just to get a drink and chat a little. I went out way to many times to eat ice cream. I worked for three weeks straight, selling fish at a local supermarket, reminding me again how much I love my studies. And these past couple of weeks reminded me again how muchI love my friends. Those girls and guys are justtruely amazing, I'm totally grateful for having them!
And since I stopped working yesterday (hooray!) and I still have a month vacation left, I have a pretty big to-do list..
*Prepare for guiding people around at Science Tunnel
*Writing Breanna's one shot
*Finish reading tropic of cancer
*BBQ at my aunts place tomorrow
*Out to dinner with my friends on Friday
*Clean up and reboot my laptop
*Start writing on the Ryan Ross one shot that has been in my head for ages
*Finish my running schedule
*My best friends 21st Birthday party
*Reading Laura's new update on her Pete story
*two (!) dental appointments
*Pay tickets to Milow's concert
*Buy tickets to Clouseau's concert
*Finish my Chad Michael Murray story
*A friend of a friends (don't ask) birthday party
But that's all going to start tomorrow. Today I didnot muchusefull. I got up at noon and watched Mean Girls while eating pizza. After that was finished I noticed the great weather, so I jumped into the pool, tried to clean it a little (which didn't really work out) and tried to get a tan afterwards (which did work out). Then my mom's cousin showed up with her 14 months old son, so I spend some time walking around with him. Let me tell you, even though that little guy can't walk on his own, he's pretty damn fast. Then after dinner I did probably the only usefull thing today, I went for a run..
And after that, I ended up here at my laptop.
So yes, I did nothing usefull, but I enjoyed every minute of it, because it was the first calm day I had in weeks!
I write you visions of my summer.
It was the best I ever had.
There were choruses and sing-alongs,
And not a spoken feeling.
I’m knowing that right now is all that matters.

What's next ?
My work for my college thesis and studying my final exams of the year have been driving me crazy lately, so there has been a lack of updates. But this Wednesday, I finally have my last exam of the year. It's an oral one, so it shouldn't take that much time (thank god!). After that, I will hopefully be getting my Bachelor's Degree in Molecular Life Sciences and after that, I'll be having two and a half wonderful months of summer break before I start my fourth year in college.
Currently, I'm working on a One Shot for the lovely Victoria to thank her for the amazing one she wrote me. You guys should go check it out, it's in my favorites list.
I was working on a new Pete Wentz shot and a Brendon Urie shot, but I kinda put those on hiatus, since I got prety much stuck on the Pete one and haven't had time to work on the Brendon one.
And then, off course, last but not least, there is my Chad story. I know there were quite some people who loved it and liked me to continue writing.
Well, like I said, things have been pretty crazy out here, so I didn't had much time to write. But don't worry, I haven't forgotten about you guys ! As soon as I finished the one shot for Victoria, I'll start working on that one again. So there should be an update in the next couple of weeks..
